Baby not moving

I am 24 weeks pregnant and have been feeling him move for ages. He is very active, especially after I have eaten certain foods or had some apple juice and definitely when I first wake up or am going to bed.

It occurred to me that I haven't felt him move at all today and I am not sure if I did yesterday...I can't hand on heart remember the last time that I did feel him. Is it too early in the pregnancy for me to be worried about that? please say it is

Great. Hope the cold drink helps. Do update once you've got the baby doing somersaults again.

sepa · 12/01/2016 20:07

Glad they were nice to you. They do similar checks as your MW would. I went just before 28 weeks and they were great. Be prepared to pee for them as they will check your urine there (they did for me)

TwllBach · 12/01/2016 20:11

whoops, just had a wee! I've had my drink and am just being quiet and listening... how long should I wait do you think?

Had this a couple of times and they never made me feel silly for going in.

PeachPantaloons · 12/01/2016 20:13

The advice when I was preggers last year was to lie on your left side for two hours, if you felt less than 10 movements in that time, get yourself checked out/Doppler etc.

Hope you're feeling okay!

ExasperatedAlmostAlways · 12/01/2016 20:16

To be honest I would still go even if the drink did give a bit of movement. Just because you havent felt anything in two days. Just to check all is okay.

Cockbollocks · 12/01/2016 20:18

Do you have anything sugary? Jam on toast? Try that and go along to the Maternity unit to make sure.

SnackPlease · 12/01/2016 20:19

Go in and get monitored, OP.

If you aren't sure if you've felt your baby move all day when it's normally very active then you don't need to wait you just need to get yourself into the assessment unit and get checked out. I really wouldn't wait - just go and get seen. I'm sure everything's fine but you do need to just go and get things checked.

TwllBach · 12/01/2016 20:22

Yeah I think I might go now... if only because I am certain that everything is ok but I get really tired very quickly and it is my bedtime in an hour so I need to go and get it done so I can come home and go to bed... because he is just hiding and everything is ok really.

Runningupthathill82 · 12/01/2016 20:25

I doubt you'll be done in an hour - last time I was in being checked for reduced movement the ward was very busy, and I was there from 6pm til around 3am. Take an overnight bag just in case, and get there as soon as you can. I hope all is well.

bonzo77 · 12/01/2016 20:25

Just go. You'll worry otherwise. Eat the snacks on the way. Please just go.

Starbores · 12/01/2016 20:27

Definitely go, the midwives won't mind.

Harverina · 12/01/2016 20:27

OP please go to the hospital now.

Don't bother with cold drinks and ice cream.

Ask to be seen straight away.

Hope everything is ok

Walkingintheraindrops · 12/01/2016 20:30

Don't worry about it OP. It's not worrying at such an early stage (in fact is extremely common) but the midwives will set you up for monitoring for reassurance if you want. they only need a quick listen at this stage. Baby has probably got into a funny position. Good luck!

TwllBach · 12/01/2016 20:33

I had the cold drinks/ice cream about an hour/2 hours ago... I've just called to let them know I am coming so I shall go for a quick drive, have a listen, feel silly that I have panicked and be astounded at how he can have tucked himself away into a little hidey hole Smile

Goingtobeawesome · 12/01/2016 20:34

Hope all is okay.

I long for the day when there are no threads about should I go in and that every mother just knows to go in without worrying the midwives will feel their time is wasted. Your baby's safety is more important than anything.

I nearly lost my baby because a midwife thought she knew best and was annoyed with my tears.

Glad you're in your way in now, OP. It's the right call. Fingers crossed baby's just wiggled round. Let us know.

Salene · 12/01/2016 20:40

Never take the chance, always get it checked. Let us know how you get on. Good luck x

KittyandTeal · 12/01/2016 20:40

I'm sure all is fine but it's always best to get checked

Walkingintheraindrops · 12/01/2016 20:41

First time I went for my Dd I hadn't felt her for 3 days. All was fine.
