Aaarrrggghhhhhh!!

How on earth did our parents successfully produce us? I'm sure my mum enjoyed soft cheeses and pate when she was carrying me.

FFS!

29redshoes- interesting how people can take different things from reading the same text- I guess it depends on the individual. For example, I loved having the occasional glass of wine when not pregnant and I felt that wine and Brie were the too things I missed the most. Since reading the book - and other research- I've decided that the odd small glass of wine is ok. I'm 28 weeks and so far have had half a small glass of wine and I plan to have a glass of champagne at Christmas. I'm by no means drinking regularly, but I'm not t-total like I was with ds1. Also, I've had some Brie made with pasteurised milk as well as Stilton, which is ok according to current NHS guidelines. I guess it was reading in the oster book that you are more likely to catch listeria from unwashed fruit and veg than you are from pasteurised cheeses (incl Brie) that changed my attitude the most.
If on the other hand you like rare steak and the book didn't 'OK' that, then I can see how you might not enjoy reading it as much as I did. Grin
