I seem to be a magnet this week at work for inappropriate pregnancy-related comments!

So far I've had someone tell me that they weren't sure if I was pregnant or just putting on a lot of weight, someone else tell me that 'I knew you were having a boy because boy babies make you ugly' (thanks pregnancy acne!!)

And someone else tell me that they hoped I'd picked someone rubbish for my maternity cover otherwise I might have too much to live up to when I came back if they turned out to be better at my job than me!

Please make me feel better by sharing the 'lovely' comments you've received!

A colleague said "Your face looks..." then patted her cheeks to indicate something between 'plumper' and 'hamster preparing for winter' Why? Why would you tell somebody that their face looks fatter? (I'm not even sure it is.) Anyway, it's a good job she didn't look at my bum, which is where all my extra weight has gone - I think I'm more rump than bump!

Also, people have told me I look tired sometimes - on the days when I can't be arsed to put on make-up. Also, I've only ever got "You're looking well" on days when I have put make-up on. Coincidence? I don't think so!

A complete stranger (friend of a friend that I've never met before) asked me how long it took me to get pregnant Hmm I was so shocked I answered her but afterwards wish I'd told her to mind her own business.

Also my friend came out with 'you won't be able to see your fanny soon' but I actually thought that was pretty funny Grin

I've had: "we're you this big with your first?" And "weren't you this big at the end with DC1? How long have you got left?!"

But they're right, I'm enormous this time! I'm kind of shocked by it myself so haven't taken offence! It would be terrible for a more sensitive person though!

Was it planned is rude but...I was an unplanned baby after 21 years of being together for my parents.

It was absolutely not planned but my mum described it as "the most wonderful surprise" she's ever had. Mainly because her and my DF thought they couldn't have any children.

So even after being together a long time...surprises do happen so it's rude but not totally am ignorant thing to say. I still wouldn't dream of asking though.

Partners family have gone from going on about how small my bump is to saying I'm 'gaining weight all over' getting 'fat in the face' and 'don't stop eating!

I'm 31 weeks at the mo. We had the PIL over for Xmas and MIL spent half of it encouraging me to drink alcohol "because they're basically finished developing". Confused

"Well, that's your career over with, you won't be able to work after you've had a baby."

Thanks, mom!

I turned 21 a week before DD was born so was 20 for most of my pregnancy, I also look younger than I am so I got a whole host of wonderful comments
My best friend when I told her said "...are we happy about this?" Grin she's very to the point and was legitimately inquiring as to whether I needed a congratulations or a shoulder to cry on
I've had all sorts of "your very young aren't you?" And "is this your first?" Asked a little too innocently so you can tell the subtext is " just how big of a wreck have you made your life?"
My DF when I finally told him: "Oh you're not are you?" And then countless "you could have made so much of your life", "you're so clever", "make sure you go back to uni" (he loves DD to death btw and is very supportive)
But the best was my manager at work, who I told first as some of my job included heavy lifting and so I needed to sort out a health and safety guideline.
Me: I found out the other day that I'm pregnant and thought I needed to tell you
Him: Oh.
(that was literally it)
