I´m 30 weeks pregnant and can´t even see my bits anymore to attend there. Sorry for the question, but did any of you bother to maintain your hair down there before you gave birth/gyno visits? I´m used to just keeping it neat, no waxing/imaccing.

Shall I just let it grow wild? I don´t want to end up a) cutting myself badly/ b) ending up with a dodgy brazilian.

Thoughts?

Also, in antenatal clinics, they made block bookings of appointments, then mothers to be were asked to de-knicker in the waiting room so as not to waste the doctor's time. Hope we don't go back to that in these money saving times.

I was having this same crisis the other day! at 30 weeks wanted to do something as it is getting rather unruly down there. So I ended up just trimming with scissors and keeping it short.

Handy tip about the shaving and potential surgery though - thanks for the heads up! :)

What an odd post LoveChickens. Bertrand didn't moan at anyone. A poster said that they were ashamed of pubic hair and hair on their legs. It's fine to have a preference - I personally don't much bother with more than the stray bikini line bit, but I'm not a massive fan of my legs when hairy. I like them better shaved. That's different to someone who explicitly says that they've been taught female hair is disgusting.

I think it's very sad if someone has been taught that their own body is disgusting. Feminist or not. Male or female. Sad And I also think that it's not wrong to comment to that effect.

I usually keep mine trimmed but in pregnancy I let it run wild. I don't really like it that way but it's no big deal. Trust me when a baby is coming out of your vag it'll be the last thing on your mind.

I came out of labour covered in blood, vomit, poo and sweat. Probably other stuff too. A bit of hair is nothing.

I've managed to keep it all shaved with both my other full term pregnancies however I'm already starting to struggle to see between my boobs and bump. Dh will help if needed he knows my routine in the shower for doing it anyway.

I used to use scissors just to keep it neat (mine were always 'long n straights' rather than 'short n curlies') but said to OH I thought waving sharps tools in a sensitive area I couldn't see wasn't the best plan.
Bought a trimmer, so can use that, far safer!
