I had the maclaren cut from birth with my 2 dcs. I loved it and can't recommend it enough. But it is well and truly knackered so dc3 will get a new buggy!! This time I want something where I can clip on the car seat. I don't want or need anything big or bulky. Just wondered what you all have decided on and if you have any suggestions for me.

You can only have them in the car seats for a little while (90 mins?) so would that be enough? You might want a lie flat option buggy even if you don't have a bassinet attachment.

We have a big pram, but it gets down to minus thirty here in the winter so we need something that can cope with a lot of snow... I would like something a bit lighter for travelling though, mind if I hop on the thread and see what people suggest? :)

zippyswife · 02/09/2015 12:55

Sure hop on. I can highly recommend the maclaren xt as s lighter but very durable option. If you're looking for a buggy.

Yes a stroller with a lie flat option compatible with a car seat I guess is what i need. Think I need a trip to Mothercare!!

I think I may go for the Silver Cross Pioneer. My little one is due Feb 1st so I want to use the carry cot option whilst they have to lie flat (plus it will be cold!)

DeathMetalMum · 02/09/2015 13:12

I'd go with a baby jogger city mini. You can get attachments for car seat and carrycot if needed and is a brilliant pushchair. Currently using with my large 2.5 year old and is still lovely to push. (My 4.5 year old can fit on it too if needed)

zippyswife · 02/09/2015 13:14

Deathmetal I think that's the one I nearly bought last time round. I'll take a look. Thanks!

I've got the silver cross 3d pram and pushchair travel system.

With dd who is now 3 i had the baby style oyster.

It was great for the car seat and carrycot, however the seat unit was rubbish!! I sold it when dd was 12 months.

I also found the basket not very big. If i have another child i would go for the uppa baby vista as it has a big seat unit which is very upright and a massive shopping basket

scarednoob · 02/09/2015 13:30

we've gone for the icandy peach 3 - special offer at the moment where you get the carrycot and buggy together for a reduced price. you can use the seat as a car seat from after 6 months, I think:

www.icandyworld.com/uk/en/product/peach-3

we went for the red one, but tiny bit nervous as they didn't actually have a red one in stock - hope it looks good!!

zippyswife · 02/09/2015 13:33

This is great. Loads of ideas. I'm going to start checking them out!

Got a second hand iCandy Peach 3 and Maxi-Cosi Cabrio... very happy with both :)

nottheOP · 02/09/2015 13:36

Baby jogger city mini with a Graco Quattro soft carrycot from Ebay - it can fold up with this in place too.

nottheOP · 02/09/2015 13:36

Or baby jogger vue

FattyNinjaOwl · 02/09/2015 13:38

If its just a basic lie flat buggy that you can attatch car seat to, and you're not bothered about parent facing, I had this for my DD. I still have it now but it doesn't get used as I now have two under two so they go in the tandem, and I'm always with both of them.

Frasras11 · 02/09/2015 14:18

Mothercare Orb this time. One unit that is a carrycot and becomes a pram seat. Also can buy attachments for car seats. I've a couple of friends who have one and they love it. Was on offer at £329 for the whole package this weekend as well.

iwanttobemrsnorthman · 02/09/2015 14:23

I've got a maxi cosi streety plus, I had it from Very.Co.Uk for £200 including a maxi cost car seat and an accessory pack! Total bargain and I love it Smile

purplewhale · 02/09/2015 14:29

I've got a silver cross pioneer for DS1 (due next week) and the simplicity car seat and isofix base.
I've tried tons of prams in shops.
The pioneer just seems solid and good quality. It's not the lightest or the heaviest but it's lovelt to push

I do think that you get what you pay for

Incidentally check out the factory shop - they did us a good deal on a brand new one

LucyNaise · 02/09/2015 15:48

Does anyone know anything about the Bugaboo Bee 3? I've found a cheap second hand one online but not sure how reliable they are

MaximumVolume · 02/09/2015 15:57

scarednoob I think you may have your wires crossed unless I've misunderstood your post! The seat of the iCandy Peach is nothing like a carseat. Were you maybe thinking of the fact that you can clip the more popular infant car seats onto the frame with adapters?

We've just gotten rid of our iCandy Peach Jogger in favour of a M&P Urbo2. It's much more compact in general, is lighter & is easier to steer on the street. In favour of the Peach, it did a great job in the snow and on occasions when we were on rough terrain but is too bulky!

nottheOP · 02/09/2015 15:57

The bee is reliable. It's very much a city pram with its tiny wheels but if that's all you want it for, it's great and will last you until they're walking. It is fiddly to fold so a consideration if you're going on buses.

DaddyPigIsMyParentingGuru · 02/09/2015 15:59

I would probably get this:
www.cosatto.com/explore-our-range/products/pushchairs/strollers/to-and-fro

sepa · 02/09/2015 16:35

I think when we start looking we will look at a silver cross. Only reason being is I LOVE the old style ones and they have always been known for reliability. This may change when we actually go looking though

blowinahoolie · 02/09/2015 16:45

Silvercross sleepover pram that I had for DC1 & DC2.

MisterPip · 02/09/2015 21:15

This tome I'm presuming I'll want to change in a short time. I got a second hand b smart for 30, flat seat or car seat, and I'll go back to a maclaren when they are sitting well. My old bugaboo bee was the nearest I've had for lasting every age, but I still swapped for an nrella fold later on for ease

notaprincessbutaqueen · 02/09/2015 22:41

We are getting the bugaboo bee 3 although I do also love the look of the cosatto to and fro. Wanted something that was one piece, small to fold, lightweight to push and would be used from birth - 3.
I had the original bugaboo bee with ds1 and it was amazing to push hence going for another. Really recommend x

Skiptonlass · 03/09/2015 07:09

Anyone seen/played with/bought the armadillo flip xt from mamas and papas? I'm looking at it because I like the folding (really easy) and it's able to face both ways, but no stockists in my country to would need to be bought sight unseen off t'internet.
