I had the maclaren cut from birth with my 2 dcs. I loved it and can't recommend it enough. But it is well and truly knackered so dc3 will get a new buggy!! This time I want something where I can clip on the car seat. I don't want or need anything big or bulky. Just wondered what you all have decided on and if you have any suggestions for me.

Jane matrix 2 light is a lie flat carseat which attached to buggy. Their prams are solidly built, but never in the mothercare showroom. Google the distributor for local stockist. Very happy with mine

I've gone for a Bugaboo Bee 3, light, easy to fold etc. Got adapters and the Maxi Cosi Pebble to attach to base. No experience of actually using it yet though as DC1 is due in Dec!

LoveChickens · 03/09/2015 07:33

I recommend the Cameleon and the Bee. Had them for both children.

We've gone for the mamas and papas urbo2 pushchair and cybex Aton Q car seat combo. No carry cot as the pushchair lies flat. It's gorgeous, I'm totally in love. I have it in navy as I'm not too fond of the bright colours. It's light, easy to steer and folds/unfolds pretty quickly and painlessly with one hand.

Bugaboo bee 3 for us. We had the original with DD4 and I wouldn't consider another pram. Small, nifty, lays flat etc and super easy to fold!

After a generous gift from DH's GPs we have just had the Silver Cross Surf 2 Eton delivered. Put it together at his parents last night and it is gorgeous and really easy to use/manoeuvre around.

MrsAukerman · 03/09/2015 19:57

Why bother? They'll use it for less than 6 months. Buy a lovely wrap or two which will then sell on for roughly what you paid. Or just blag one from somewhere and put the saved money towards spending more time off on mat leave.

BeautifulBatman · 03/09/2015 20:20

A pushchair only lasts 6 months?? Mine will last til dc is 3 or 4..... and some of us have no wish or can't physically were their baby.

Skiptonlass · 03/09/2015 21:14

Wraps and slings aren't always suitable. I have one and it'll be fab for some things, but... We have severe winters here and I usually take a couple of tumbles on the ice - I'm not doing that with a baby strapped to me! I also can't get my massive down parka to close over a baby in a sling so unless I want to freeze the poor mite he'll be better off in his pram wrapped up in a zillion layers of fur and wool like the other babies.

Pram converts to pushchair too so it should last years. I'd just like a smaller more foldable one for travel. No issues with paying for mat leave (the system is excellent here) so not an issue :)

Babyzen Yoyo 0+ is top of my list. Seems to be half the price of the Bugaboo Bee and folds down super small which is what I will need.

purplecat27 · 04/09/2015 08:05

TreeSparrow that's the one we're going for too, have you managed to try one out anywhere?

NoMontagues · 04/09/2015 09:30

skipton I have an icandy raspberry which is a bit like the armadillo.

I didn't use it from birth with DS but I may do with this baby. It lies flat, can face either way, easy to put up and down, takes maxi-cosi car seat and has a newborn pod.

TreeSparrow · 04/09/2015 18:26

Hi purplecat27, no I haven't seen it in person yet. I'm hoping to hunt one down somewhere to see in the next couple of months. Baby due December.

comeagainforbigfudge · 04/09/2015 18:54

skiptonlass I have the armadillo flip XT.
Loves it!! I didn't buy the carry cot part as pushchair lies flat (plus I expected my DD to be long and I was right, only 12weeks and rather snug in moses basket)

It's so easy to fold/unfold. Can be done one-handed. Big basket.
Only been using it for 12weeks so can't comment on durability.

We have a mutsy 4rider, we got it for ds 6 years ago and kept it, you can have carry cot, car seat or lie flat seat, might be a bit bulkier than you want, but we really like it

NewBallsPlease00 · 04/09/2015 19:39

Second baby here, and I swore I wouldn't become one of those buggy hoarding mums; I failed.
Ds1 I had a Phil & teds, we lived rurally and I walked loads, it was great but heavy to push and lift, and the cocoon and car seat fixtures were fiddly
Then bought a bjcm which was brill for quick fold lightweight car seat fitted in etc but not chunky enough to manage our rural roads
Then went to a wedding and unexpectedly needed a buggy when venues were further apart than realised and not child friendly so bought emergency Argos cheap job. Truly crap but fine for a day!
So after that lot, this time I've bought a perfect second hand bugaboo cam3, easy to push on all terrains inc sand (!) lighter and more flexible than the pt and holds value well; I intend to use it for 9 months then flog and use the bjcm
