I am 10 weeks and I haven't done a poo in over a week . My tummy is so sore Sad I've been so sick I think I've become quite dehydrated (very concentrated urine also).

I need some home remedies to try tomorrow . Failing that I will call my GP on Monday and ask for a prescription for lactulose .

I had the same until about 15 weeks, and then it eased off, thank goodness. For some reason, kiwi fruits and cherries seemed to help loads, along with drinking a lot of lukewarm water. I also sat in the bath a lot and massaged my stomach in a clockwise direction

if you're taking a pre-natal multi vit it might be worth changing it up as if it contains iron and folic acid these can sometimes cause bad constipation for people.

Make sure you are drinking a ridiculous amount of water/juice/squash not tea/coffee and plenty of exercise gets things ahem.... moving.

God help you OP, I remember it well - the triumph of finally doing a poo when pregnant.

Definitely recommend Lactulose for keeping on top of things for the next few weeks - it is harmless, you don't absorb it, it just goes straight through and encourages water into your stools to keep them soft. You do NOT want to get a fissure!

It probably will ease off once everything lifts up off your bowel, my pregnancy constipation was bad from about 9-15 weeks, then disappeared as my bump moved up.

Fibergel. Failing that glucose suppository. Both safe to use in pregnancy.
