I am 8 weeks pregnant with severe morning sickness. I went to Tescos to do a quick shop as I am feeling so horrendous and now I am pregnant I parked in mother AAnd baby as it is closer to the door. I had just got out of the car when a woman about 65 came storming up to me shouting where is your child to which I replied in my tummy. She kept ranting at me and I explained my morning sickness is awful and I just wanted to get in and out. After more ranting I got a bit fed up and told her in future maybe she should mind her own business and think before she attack someone. She then told me to F off and she was going to report me. So she headed off to customer service and reported me, after she had left I went and asked them what was their policy. To which they said there wasn't one and they apologised to me for her behaviour. They were then worried as I felt so ill I nearly passed out. Has anyone had this before?? I am now feeling extremely Ill and Just want to cry.

Wtaf lljkk? Tescos rules and regulations do not state "parking for parents and children under 7, except those who have special pleading and believe they should be able to park their too. These rules can be contravened anytime on the day so of the 17 year old on the customer service desk"

They really don't. And as has been confirmed there is no blue badge enforcement on private land.

As someone who has suffered from HG, I couldn't get down the stairs never mind drive the car. I wasn't able to drink any water from the tap or a bottle. And as for worrying about tap water, have you thought about the chemicals leeching from plastic bottles into the water. Those spaces are for if you have the child with you and they are difficult to get out of the car. Tesco doesn't really care abut those spaces and who uses them, they are probably more trouble than they are worth!

lljkk · 24/06/2015 11:49

A lot of MNers have said they are more trouble than they're worth.

I rather suspect that (in fine print) Tesco reserves the right to change their own parking rules & regulations at discretion of staff on site at the moment, which they have every legal right to do as long as they don't violate criminal or civil law. Anything on their published signs is just a starting point, not absolute.

Unless they say that penalties apply to those parking in P&C spaces, it's unenforceable, so it's just a suggestion, really.

LoveLetters · 24/06/2015 12:55

And FYI ladies, I spoke to the customer service agent who then called the store manager who also said the same.

"I'm not going to keep explaining why I was driving"

Except you haven't really explained have you?

If you are feeling that ill and on the point of passing out, you shouldn't be driving

I realise that this will earn me a telling off like rink and hmc got but really you shouldn't

Why do you reckon that the woman was so aggressive and shouty if there were plenty of P&C spaces left or have you exaggerated that too to make your story better?

LoveLetters · 24/06/2015 14:00

Haha sorry but this is getting hilarious.

OP posts:
BitOutOfPractice · 24/06/2015 14:02

So, why do you think she was so angry then OP? You say there wer plenty of spaces left

Number3cometome · 24/06/2015 14:03

LoveLetters

Don't worry, they'll move back to attack me again in a minute!

Just click 'hide' on the thread Wink

BitOutOfPractice · 24/06/2015 14:10

I'm not attacking. I'm asking a reasonable question - since I wasn't there to see this woman frothing

SummerHouse · 24/06/2015 14:21

I would seek Dr advice on the driving thing. Just small lapses in concentration can cause accidents and it does sound like your sickness is of a level that would affect your concentration.

m0therofdragons · 24/06/2015 14:24

I probably would have said something if you didn't have a child with you. Getting a toddler and newborn twins in and out of a car was a nightmare in the standard size spaces and I even had to put my babies into the car through the boot in tesco so if I'd seen you I probably would have said something.
hope you feel better soon - I spent most of my twins pg being sick and in and out of hospital so I do sympathies but I also think most people would be able to justify using those spaces and it actually really affects others - a triplet mum I know gave up trying to park on our tesco as all the spaces were taken and she didn't have the pushchair. She planned to use a double trolley with the other in her car seat on the trolley but couldn't get the cat seat out of the car in the standard seats. With newborn triplets she wasn't feeling well either.

formidable · 24/06/2015 14:28

You can park anywhere you like.

Fuck her, rude cow.

Newtobecomingamum · 24/06/2015 15:14

For gods sake why are people still having a go at the OP and bitching with each other!!

Get a life... No one has died ffs!! The debate has happened and all I see now is women bitching! This is not what MN is about!

And for those people comparing HG they couldn't do this and they couldn't do that etc!! Everyone is bloody different and has it to different degrees at different times! I have HG and have no family nearby and are forced to drive to get help from them or go to the shops. Obviously if I was having an episode where it was that bad or thought it would be dangerous I wouldn't have driven at that time! The same as I am sure OP would have done!!

Also if OP only wants to drink bottle water.., wtf has it got to do with anyone else!! For Christ sake there are more important threads to give helpful advice and support people than bitch with each other!

This thread has just turned into a slanging match. You're just an embarrassment if you carry on.

LoveLetters · 24/06/2015 15:27

Thanks Newtobecomingamum I couldn't bare having to state the obvious to some of these women. You did it for me :) you spoke perfectly xx

OP posts:
BitOutOfPractice · 24/06/2015 16:21

Why is it stating the obvious to me? I am asking why you think this random woman was quite so furious? Was she just a random nutter?

LoveLetters · 24/06/2015 16:25

I think she was because the staff at customer services weren't impressed with her behaviour. They said she was extremely aggressive.

OP posts:
MissDemelzaCarne · 24/06/2015 17:46

you spoke perfectly = you agree with me Hmm

ArcheryAnnie · 24/06/2015 17:52

I also think most people would be able to justify using those spaces

mOtherofdragons but this isn't true, is it? Some people might try, and be cheeky buggers, but the two people who have posted in this thread about using accessible spaces and are getting stick for it are:

A woman with a disability using a disabled space

and

A pregnant woman who was ill using a parent space.

Both needed to, neither was taking the piss. That's what the spaces are there for, to be used for people who need them.

BitOutOfPractice · 24/06/2015 18:04

Oh, thught she'd started ranting and swearing before customer services got involved, as soon as you got out of the car. That's odd isn't it?

LittleMissRayofHope · 24/06/2015 18:19

Haven't read all replies.

At 8 weeks pregnant you shouldn't have been parking there. If you were so sick you couldn't walk another 10 feet then you shouldn't be driving.

I was hospitalised with HG in my second pregnancy and still managed to park about 10 feet away from Tesco in the row of non p&c bays.
However once I got to 7.5 months and was huge I did use the p&c bays as I needed the extra space.

Lweji · 24/06/2015 22:45

For the record, the day I had DS I was fine when seating, but as soon as I got up I felt like fainting and had to go to the toilet looking like the hunchback of Notre Dame. I'd be fine to drive, not so much to walk.

LoveLetters · 25/06/2015 10:48

Thanks lewji it's a shame some of these women can't think past their own experiences and conclude that everyone is different.

I wouldn't begrudge an ill pregnant woman from parking there and if I hadn't have been ill I actually wouldn't have parked there.
