I'm only five weeks but the nausea is creeping in.

My colleague loudly slurping his tea opposite me is not helping

What helped you ease the sicky feeling?

No, it's the same thing. The travel sickness ones you can pick up in Boots. Just make sure you site them correctly, they need to be in the exact spot to work. My acupuncturist reckons most people wear them too near the wrist. I found diagrams on acupuncture sites more helpful than the box instructions for that.

Thanks, Flumpty.

Flumpty/Rafferty - bought a couple of bands on my lunch break and so far so good... ginger chews seem to be helping too!

FlumptyDumpty · 08/06/2015 13:19

Grin Great stuff!

BabySalt · 08/06/2015 14:03

Full fat fizzy coke would instantly make me feel better. The first few months I never went anywhere without a bottle. Not the healthiest option but worked wonders.

MummyBexta · 08/06/2015 20:32

I used to nibble dry cream crackers (Jacobs, etc) in the car on the way to work and also drank ginger ale

Orangeisthenewbanana · 08/06/2015 20:36

Sherbet lemon sweets and forcing myself to eat little and often as hunger made it worse (even though I felt like I didn't want to eat). I just ate whatever I fancied for a few weeks, be it bread and cheese, grapes or apple danishes Blush Keeping hydrated and well rested too (I found I was best lying on my back - very practical!)

Raffertys · 23/06/2015 21:18

So since I started this thread my sickness has gone from strength to strength. 'morning' sickness my fucking backside

I have found one thing which seems to be helping (after everything else that used to do the trick now comes back up): cheddar cheese sliced thinly onto Jacob's cream crackers. Don't know why it works for me but it does.

Rowntree fruit pastille ice lollies
Magnum white chocolate ice cream
Sainsbury elderflower cordial and cold fizzy water with loads of ice
Biscuits

I didn't manage a meal from weeks 6-15 but it subsided pretty quickly after that. You get quite blasé about puking though

I hope it passes quickly for you

CalypsoLilt · 24/06/2015 19:44

I'm 6+4 and morning sickness in full swing (no puking yet tho); I had to phone in sick today :(

Things that work for me:
tonic water
ginger biscuits
carbs, carbs, carbs, toast, potatoes, chips, pasta and more toast
rest

The constant nausea is debilitating and not being able to tell people makes it all the worse. Feeling extra miserable as OH is away until end of July, so he gets to miss my whole first trimester :(

Just managed to put some clean sheets on the bed today, yay me.

Fugghetaboutit · 24/06/2015 20:02

For me, 1 teaspoon of Apple cider vinegar and 1 teaspoon of honey in a cup of hot water.

Only thing that eased it. As well as eating something (cracker, toast, apple, ANYTHING) every 20 mins otherwise felt like hell.

Good luck!

Rollermum · 24/06/2015 20:04

Really dark choc a square or two buys some relief due to magnesium.

Eating little and often. Carbs first thing, then protein / fat with more carbs.

Blackandwhitecat3 · 24/06/2015 20:46

Raff those thin slices of cheddar cheese (on toast for me) saved my life in early ms, however I can't face any dairy now.

Watermelon definitely works, and helps with hydration when you can't face drinking much. Apples too. Ice cubes instead of drinking water. Ice lollies.

But totally: dry carbs!

Junosmum · 24/06/2015 20:48

eating little and often (well, celery sticks pretty much constantly!).

PearTree201 · 24/06/2015 21:12

Agree with PPs who mention pretty much eating constantly, that's about the only thing that staves off my nausea which has ramped up a gear this week (6+5).

And plenty of sleep! I feel so much worse when I've not had enough sleep.
