I'm only five weeks but the nausea is creeping in.

My colleague loudly slurping his tea opposite me is not helping

What helped you ease the sicky feeling?

Jacobs cream crackers and polo mints.

I did learn not to let my blood sugar drop. I was terribly sick the whole way through. I learned to eat regularly even if I didn't feel like it, it was worse otherwise.

Greenrememberedhills · 01/06/2015 00:01

Eat little and often. Baked potatoes.

IfYouWereARiverIdLearnToFloat · 01/06/2015 10:49

Anna's ginger thins - I just bought 6 boxes yesterday as I can't get them in the shops here.

Skiptonlass · 01/06/2015 12:15

Anti emetics :(

Still vomiting at 20 weeks.

Samm1 · 01/06/2015 13:08

Hi there, I'm 26 and married just found I'm 6-7 weeks pregnant after 10 months of trying Grin but I'm a bit worried because I have such bad nausea(no vomiting) and I feel so weak and ill like I have the flu. Constant aches and pains l, sore throat and headaches is this normal or should I be worried. Please help first pregnancy so I'm clueless

Raffertys · 01/06/2015 13:59

Samm it may be best to start a separate thread as you will get more specific responses. Also if you're feeling that bad then maybe make a GP appointment and get checked out.

Raffertys · 01/06/2015 18:14

Ginger biscuits!

broodylicious · 01/06/2015 19:23

That's exactly what I asked the mw, raff. Apparently not. Boo hiss, I say!

yehbutnobutyeh · 01/06/2015 19:33

I second the mini cheddars! Or massive cheddars or cheese savouries. Anything with cheese in, on, or around it actually... Just nibble until you are bored of nibbling!

Brummiegirl15 · 01/06/2015 19:49

Fizzy water ( ice cold ) and salty snacks. Crisps, salted popcorn, mini cheddars. French fries (crisps)

Currently feeling sick as dog and drinking ice cold fizzy water

Sleepyfergus · 01/06/2015 20:08

A friend of amine who suffered terribly with sickness mistakenly discovered McMuffins with sausage and egg were her saviour. This distressed her no end as she is über healthy and sporty but needs must when she was at her worst!!

Raffertys · 08/06/2015 07:04

Just bumping this as a) my nausea is getting worse so I needed to remind myself of all the amazing suggestions on here and b) every woman suffering from morning sickness should read this Grin

Ginger ale helped me although I quickly became fed up of drinking the stuff!

flanjabelle · 08/06/2015 07:58

Eating near constantly was the only thing that worked for me!

s098 · 08/06/2015 10:19

Definately need to try some of these! Currently sat at work feeling very sorry for myself :(

Dani240 · 08/06/2015 11:26

Never let yourself get hungry, or full.

Sleep as much as possible. Go to bed as soon as you get in from work if you're tired.

Snack on dry and salty things (my favourite was definitely mini cheddars). Don't worry about healthy eating right now, you can catch up when you feel better. Just eat what you can keep down.

Stay hydrated, even if it makes you feel horrible.

It does get better, I promise!

Raffertys · 08/06/2015 11:38

Totally get this 'always eat' thing! I feel shite when I'm hungry at the moment.

I'm really struggling to drink enough. I've gone off tea (my staple liquid intake, normally) and I'm having a hard time stomaching water. Peppermint tea is ok, but only in small quantities. Sad

This thread is very useful, thanks to the op - I'm 7+4 and finding being at work almost unbearable. It seems to be the computer screen that's making me feel worse (I've had very little nausea while at home and getting on with anything non - computer related!) but since I have to work at a computer I'm not really sure what to do about it.

Other than constant breaks to walk around and constant snacking, any tips for coping with nausea at work?! It's just so hard to concentrate, and of course not something I can share with colleagues or have a moan about!!

FlumptyDumpty · 08/06/2015 11:55

Acupuncture, and wearing the acupressure bands at all times. Really worth a go if you can afford it. Find one who knows about early pregnancy though.

Raffertys · 08/06/2015 12:26

Ah! I wore travel sickness bands when I was pregnant with DS. I'd forgotten about that. I will pick some more up. I guess they're different to acupuncture bands?
