Um when will I start 'glowing' beautifully??

Anyone else waiting for the 'glowing' to start? and the hair to look nice and thick?? and to stop feeling so sluggish and yucky? and the spots to go?! 20 weeks and waiting for the so called 'energy' of the 2nd trimester to kick in....!!

Sorry 33 weeks and still waiting here. I don't think my hair has ever heard of this thick and shiny business, it only knows how to do greasy. I also flounder about like an upturned turtle on soft upholstery. Such glowy glamour.

You never know, though, you might get lucky!

I've always had thick, frizzy hair so hope it never happens, quite frankly!

Have also developed a waddle.

Yeah, hasn't happened for me at 31 weeks. Well, FIL detected a glow on Tuesday evening but I think that was actually sweat.

I've had spots and frizzy hair, though some weeks are better than others!

My second trimester was hell on earth with spd, third the same so far. The 'pregnancy glow' is bollocks as far as I can tell!

I'm 20weeks and waiting for the 'glow' to happen too. So far I just have dry itchy skin, a strange rash on one side of face that flares up in reaction to almost any skincare product, and everyone says I look 'tired'. My hair is thicker but that's because it urgently needs attention from hairdresser! I've been too sick to get it cut and highlighted up until now, and still not sure if I'd manage a salon visit without vomiting. I keep having dreams about having my hair done and when I step out of (dream) salon it's all swishy and layered with coppery highlights. Then I get up and realise it's still thick, frizzy and out of control!

I have had terrible dry, itchy patches on my face. Only things that have helped are aldi dry skin face oil and e45 intense recovery body lotion (not sure it's intended for the face but it's working a treat). Been using the oil at night and the e45 by day.

24 weeks ............ Still waiting. Only my hair is enjoying pregnancy so far, but it's mostly tied up due to vomit splatters.
I think the 'glow' is an urban legend,

yes I've had very dry skin too! a REALLY dry nose, and lots of little dry patches on my arms..I thought about doing a bit of diy tanning at home,but didn't bother because it would be like polishing a turd!! and spotty face, but not big sore spots just lots of little ones that are just always there...how lovely!

I'm 39wks - you'll find you did look well in 2nd trimester as time ticks on - I didn't notice it as a glow, but I look like rubbish now!!

'Tis a load of rubbish about the "glow", the only glow I had was the sheen of sweat that erupted due to the copious vomiting that occurred when I was pregnant with both my DD and DS.

I never felt particularly glowy, but I looked great, now that I look at old photographs - my hair was glossy and thick, my skin was good, and I looked all lively and and vibrant. Might have been the complete avoidance of caffeine and booze...

On the downside, the more obviously pregnant I became, the more obviously I found I was being given the eye by a minority of men who clearly hadn't quite got past the ten-year-old insight that pregnancy is a result of SEX!!!! A guy once said something so filthy to me as I was walking through Kings Cross tube station minding my own business that I roared with laughter and he got alarmed. Because clearly pregnant women aren't supposed to find yiur salacious bump fantasies funny...

I am glowing! I am allowed to feel smug, it's my second - first time around I had hyperemesis throughout, my hair was lank and my skin was awful, I was pretty much malnourished throughout and felt rotten. This time I was very sick in the first tri but it actually passed like it's meant to and I got The Glow! I'm 35 weeks now and my hair is like a lioness and I only need a swipe of bb cream to face the world. I look postcoital, that rosy cheeked warm eyes thing.

33 weeks pregnant and the glow is still elusive! I have developed a waddle and awful back pain. I also have more spots on my face than I did when I was a teen so the only slight glow I have may only be from the spot cream! Also thick hair doesn't exist unless you count leg hair! Sorry!

Yeah, I'm 37 weeks and I definitely haven't glowed. In fact, my 4-year-old cousin peered at me closely yesterday and said "you're getting a lot of spots all over your face" - charming! (I think she meant freckles, but she's right - my skin is weird lately!)

Yep. Had none of that. I almost had nice skin, until the sun came out and I put on sun factor 30. Skin then broke out big time and is still healing. So sore and itchy. Damn skin changes

36+1 and my hair is the same, my nails have always beem strong anyway. My skin looked nice the other week but that was due to a few days in the sun... that's about it, most of the time I look tired and a little grey

By "glow" do you mean dry skin, limp hair, random itchy patches of eczema that you never had before, surprise farts blaring out of your bum to startle your other half like you a sneaky trumpeter hiding up there and the charm of gasping like a fish after climbing up 3 stairs?

If so, I'm 17 weeks and have the lot...

20 weeks here and have felt dog rough for about 80% of this pregnancy. The middle trimester has been better than the first but I am always tired and lethargic. The midwife says it is one of those things, there is nothing wrong with me to cause it. People are speculating that its a girl as I felt much better at this stage with the two boys that I already have and was sick but as much earlier on.

I'm loving this thread. This is my first pregnancy and I'm 22 weeks. I always thought I would love being pregnant as I'd longed to be a mum for so long but I'm not loving it. I ache, I'm barely mobile due to ligament pain, I've piled on weight even though I could barely eat for the first 16 weeks.

I can't wait for bean to get here as this is rubbish!

Glow..... My ass ...... ! Those glowing mums are one in a thousand I think

Its a load of bollocks reserved for the likes of Kate bloody Middleton. (I actually like her a lot but wish she would fuck off and be so gorgeously pregnant somewhere else...)

Am on DC3 too and have no glowy anything here eitehr - never have. Plenty of spots, sweats, back pain, knackered bags under eyes, waddle, itchy skin, piles, farts, burps, heartburn and cankles. Am a vision of glowy loveliness. NOT
