Hi ladies

I am 6+1 and have a girls night coming up in 2 weeks.
We always do wine but now I'm pg I don't want miss out and I want to feel part of the night so some 'fake' wine may be nice.

Any recommendations for some good dealcoholised wine as I believe some do exist!

Thanks

Bit out of season but M&S do an amazing mulled punch that is identical to mulled wine. Might be worth seeing if they have a summer equivalent

TouchPauseEngage · 23/02/2015 19:08

Watching with interest as I have tried quite a few and all have been vile! The low alcohol reds are more palatable than whites but obviously not totally alcohol free.
Good luck!

chachachar · 23/02/2015 19:11

This is the nicest I have found but it isn't cheap - asda sometimes have it cheaper though here

PrincessOfChina · 23/02/2015 19:13

The only tolerable one I have found is Naturo or something like that. I bought from Ocado.

Otherwise, I find Becks Blue very good as a lager alternative.

PrincessOfChina · 23/02/2015 19:14

Just clicked on the link from chachachar and that's the same one I mention.

crazycatlady82 · 23/02/2015 19:49

Fantastic! Thanks ladies.

I have a Waitrose at the bottom of the street so off to investigate!

Not quite wine but ocado and sainsburys do a great booze free cider and one that is "low alcohol" (0.3 units per bottle so maybe not for pre 12 weeks but I've had a few since then) and it tastes just like magners, delicious!! Also kopparberg do an alcohol free pear one that's ok but not as good as the others. I haven't found a good wine Sad Sad

TheBooMonster · 23/02/2015 20:25

I've been drinking Eisberg, the red's a bit watery, but the white and rose are pretty good.

chillychicken · 23/02/2015 20:34

The only one I liked was Sorelle. You can get it in Tesco.

LammilyDoll · 23/02/2015 20:48

Sainsbury's do a nice red, also a rose. I've not tried the white or sparkling versions, though.

Cric · 23/02/2015 20:55

Sainsburys white sparkling wine all the way!!! Wine

Impatientwino · 23/02/2015 21:36

Naturao by Torres - it's a red Syrah and by far the only one I've found that doesn't taste horrid. You can get it in Waitrose or Ocado.

SueV14 · 23/02/2015 21:38

Agree with the others that Torres natureo muscat (the white) is drinkable. Same brand red is rubbish, the rose is too sweet. I'm a wine and food blogger so staying away from drinking wine sucks for me (I do tastings every now and then though, but spit every single sip). Therefore tried all non-alcoholic wine available and it all sucks!! Natureo will also taste like rubbish after 2 bottles or so. Considering that they are all 6-10 pound a bottle you're better off drinking normal grape juice, believe me!

The only non-alc beer that I liked was Efes Zero (Turkish, drank abroad and not sure if avail in UK).

slightlyglitterstained · 23/02/2015 22:09

If you're into beer as well, then two I can recommend are Erdinger alcohol free, and Bavaria Wit 0.0% wheat beer.

Teeste · 23/02/2015 22:17

I second the Sainsbury's, it does at least taste vaguely winey. But seriously, I did this over Xmas in a bid to not be left out and it was shit. I really see no point in alcohol-free wine big lush that I was! Unless you really, really like the taste, you may as well drink something you find appetising.

crazycatlady82 · 24/02/2015 18:50

Haha Teeste!!!

I was such a wino before I found out I was pg Confused

Overnight my whole lifestyle has been turned upside down. Probably for the best! I'm certain my liver is grateful! Hahaha!!!

I also came on to say that the sainsburys' fizzy wine is the best.

skyra13 · 24/02/2015 19:44

Ita not wine but Kopparberg cider do alcohol free ciders, the pear/perry one tastes like pare drops it's amazing have found it in morrisons should give it ago.

Becca83 · 24/02/2015 21:39

I have tried a few, including the torres natureo white and found them all utterly vile. I don't think it's worth it at all. Becks blue and koppaberg alcohol free are ok, as is the asda sparkling muscat.

Skeppers · 25/02/2015 08:21

I'm with SueV on this. It's best just avoided. I bought some of the Natureo and Torres red over Christmas and they were just about tolerable watered down with some lemonade. But I'm a bit of a wine snob, so I'd rather go without than drink anything which tastes like piss! Grin

Becks blue lager all the way for me. Or Kopparberg alcohol-free pear cider. Widely available! Smile

squizita · 25/02/2015 08:35

I never found a decent one.

Asda have a shloer type grape juice in a champagne bottle which I loved though.

I found alcohol free beer slightly better (bit burger drive).

SueV14 · 25/02/2015 08:44

I can only bear becks blue with Indian food. Otherwise sticking with water and juices. Skeppers, finally another fellow wine snob here! What's the great bottle you're gonna pop as soon as you can drink again? :)

Teeste · 25/02/2015 09:44

I dream of the lovely bottle of Malbec that's waiting for me in my wine rack...slurp! I'm going to drink it with some paté, too!

SueV14 · 25/02/2015 09:56

Oh Testee, save the Malbec to go with that juicy pink steak! And get a nice Pinot Noir for the pate ;)

Teeste · 25/02/2015 10:59

I may just slather the paté on the juicy rare steak and face-plant with some kind of wine snorkel!

Dead sexy, me Grin
