Can a sexing scan be wrong?!

Okay so I had my 20 week scan today, was convinced it was a boy and the sonographer said it was a girl! I know they can't be 100% but this pregnancy is completely different from my first- she was a girl, I was huge, showed really early, put on lots of weight, had the most awful sickness. This pregnancy I have a tiny little ball on my tummy, have had no sickness and hardly put on anything so far! My gut says boy, I just wanna know if I'm being silly or not! Tia x

But blow if people want to find out what they're having then fair enough each to their own.

It stated on my scan letter that if I wanted to find out the gender I could but it wasn't guaranteed. I knew full well what the scan was for, but most people are aware that at this gestation you can find out what you're having.

Telling people once all the checks have been done isn't an issue what so ever and in fact takes a couple of seconds. If you think they should ban revealing the gender as the scan's' about checking if anything is wrong then surely they should ban all photos because it's not a photo oppurtunity all scans are there to check that baby is doing well

Blowinahoolie I quite envy people who think finding out the sex is what the 20 week scan is for. Better than spending weeks worrying about it like I did!

I opted not to find out too but I don't see why it should mean nobody else is allowed to. Some people find it really exciting to know.

There's nothing wrong with finding out the sex, not understanding why people think there is a problem with that! If it's offered and you want to know, you want to know.
Anyway, yes they can be wrong, a friend was told girl, she had a boy.
Only way really I've seen to be 100% is a 4d scan :)

Blow, many years ago scans weren't available at all and people had no idea whether their baby was healthy/had health problems etc etc. Times have changed. The technology is now available to find out the sex if you want to. You don't want to, fine. Other people do, also fine. Just because I wanted to find out doesn't mean I was obsessed with gender or had a preference.

I certainly was concerned with anomalies. dNeice had possible sb occulta so i wanted that checked. Also that no markers for DS.
And as ivf pg possibly higher chance of something wrong
But we did ask at the end because having a dd (and 2 DNieces) almost everything is pink. So it would be time for some shopping.
Really shops should sell only white/green/yellow in newborn so its cheaper if you have 2 and if they get sex wrong.
They couldnt see at the scan , baby breech with feet in the way. But said girl. So after about 15mins of trying to jiggle baby we are well aware it could be wrong.
Dsis is bringing tge clothes back from america and wouldnt have bothered if it was going to be a boy, so it does make a difference.
Dp got annoyed at hospital as everyone said ds for dd as she was in white
It is silly that even prams come in blue/pink
To be fair it is possible to have an anomaly of gender too but i dont expect they can identify many intersex children on US (at 20w anyway)
