So for some messed up reason my partners family all believe I am 'faking' my pregnancy as a way too keep my boyfriend (we weren't braking up) and as a way to get money from him.
What do I do? They're ruining my first pregnancy for me. :(

Completely ignore them, it's not like babies are invisible.

Don't see them, before or after babies born - they're arseholes

SueV14 · 13/01/2015 11:44

Pee on a stick and present it to them.

FirstTimeMum96 · 13/01/2015 11:45

SueV14 I have done on several! It's getting too the point that I may just do it in front of them!!

CatsClaus · 13/01/2015 11:46

FirstTimeMum96 · 13/01/2015 11:46

LaurieFairyCake, I'm trying too ignore them but they're even threatening my life. I'm honestly petrified.

So where do they say you are getting the positive pregnancy tests from? You have a close friend who is pregnant?
And wait, they are threatening your LIFE?! In that case I would get a restraining order asap.

Bubba19alicia · 13/01/2015 11:51

Threatening your life?! That's more than rude...I feel for you hun :( why does your boyfriend have to say about this???

Bubba19alicia · 13/01/2015 11:52

*what

capsium · 13/01/2015 11:58

Ignore them. Also you can sympathise that this is just a very desperate attempt to exert control - which just will not work. On some level they are acknowledging that their son will be putting you and the baby first and not them and don't like this.

So be happy. Ignore, don't answer the phone to them. Don't go out of your way to see them. Don't respond to their messages. Give them no ammunition. Enjoy your time with your partner and don't complain about them to him. Don't even bring them up in conversation. Don't make him think you could ever be the bad one. If they want to keep their relationship with their son they will eventually give up.

Nolim · 13/01/2015 11:59

Wow. Ignore them.

Bubba19alicia · 13/01/2015 12:00

I do feel though to some level that firsttimemum96 other half should be defending her if his family are threatening we life??

capsium · 13/01/2015 12:00

Sorry I missed the life threats. If you are seriously worried go to the police. If not ignore. How close do you all live to each other. Could you consider moving?

Bubba19alicia · 13/01/2015 12:01

*her life

Number3cometome · 13/01/2015 12:02

How pregnant are you? Assuming you haven't had a scan yet

What is the Boyfriend saying about this?

who told them about the baby?

threatening your life? Call the police!!

Pisghetti · 13/01/2015 12:04

I would say it is time for your boyfriend to step up and tell them to leave you alone.

capsium · 13/01/2015 12:05

Out of interest how old are you both? Does your boyfriend still live at home?

capsium · 13/01/2015 12:06

^ sorry figure of speech. I mean does your boyfriend still live with his parents?

MaryWestmacott · 13/01/2015 12:16

If your boyfriend won't tell them to stop, then he's not worth keeping and will just be another child for you to deal with. If he won't stand up for his pregnant girlfriend while she's being threatened, then sorry, he doesn't love you and isn't much of a man.

Refuse to have any contact with any of them, any threats, call the police.

When baby arrives, resist the urge to go show him/her off, keep your child away from such poisonous people, refuse to see them without a suitably convincing apology, and even then, minimal contact for the rest of your life.

There's a good chance once it's clear you are actually pregnant, they will go from saying "she's not pregnant" to "it's not [boyfriends]". Don't engage, to others "they are wrong but I'm not going to try to talk them round."

Ignore and stop letting them be part if your life.

LaurieFairyCake · 13/01/2015 12:18

Threatening your life?

You call the police, obviously!!!

capsium · 13/01/2015 12:21

If you and your boyfriend are very young and he still lives with his parents I could understand more how difficult this would be for him too. What support do you have around you?

GooodMythicalMorning · 13/01/2015 12:53

Ignore them. Once you have a bump there will be no denying it.

OnlyLovers · 13/01/2015 13:15

Threatening your life? You call the police, obviously!!!

This.

What does your partner say about it all?

FirstTimeMum96 · 13/01/2015 13:55

I am almost 7 weeks pregnant my partner turns 20 this month and I turn 19 next month we both live out of home but his family are always around and close and my family is 7 hours away!! So at the moment I am with my family and ignoring his family and he has told his family all too mind there own business because if they can't accept it they can (excuse my French) fuck off! Which is good but three life threats in one day is getting ridiculous.
He is doing the right thing and sticking up for me though and hopefully we will be moving far far away from his crazy family.

If they are threatening you life then call the police! You have your unborn child to think about too.
