Not sure if I said congrats to lady, 3 days labour- good lord, well done! ( slightly scared now!!)
pearl the glucose test was offered to me because of family history of diabetes, although I am not diabetic myself. I think they have widened the criteria of who should have it though. Another lady from my yoga group as also there so we had a good old chat & passed the 2 hours quite well although I was def hungry! She had to have it as she has Pcos. It wasn't too bad, they took blood, then gave you a sugary drink ( which was n't that bad, we did ask how much sugar was in it & the nurse said about the same as a Mars bar, we both said we'd prefer a Mars bar!!), you then wait 5 mins then you can have a drink of water. They then leave you for about 2 hours & then retake your bloods to see how you react.
I met my 37 week pg friend later & she said she had to go to a drop in clinic & a 21 yr old was pg with her 2nd, she's already got a 9 mth old, so she'd got pg 5 days after giving birth-WTF??!! She was also rolling up roll ups on her bump & when asked if she drank said yes the odd cider or two
my friend is really struggling as the head has been engaged for 12 weeks & there is a lot of pressure down there. They sent her to the hospital & said they might have to induce her.
We had a pedicure together which was lush! I now have v pretty toes but the weather has gone really cold!!
hello otters, ouch with all the glucose tests. Whoop, whoop for a boy. At my yoga class we also have a relaxation bit at end under blankets & pillows! My real life berry was at the glucose test so we were chatting about the IVF etc. She couldn't get over how many of us there were that had had problems, she thought she was the only one.
Second big whoop for fluffy's little girl.
Right, time to get ready for my day!
