Hi everyone,
I was looking at the Christmas bargain thread and thought it would be a good idea to have a baby bargain thread I've searched mumsnet and I can't seem to find one, please correct me if I'm wrong.
I'll start by posting some bargains I've found and if anybody has anything to add please join in.

I ordered this yesterday and it arrived this morning it looks great!

Tommee Tippee steriliser £59.99 reduced to £24.99.
Sign up to Emma's Diary to receive £200 worth of money off vouchers at argos and there's a £10 off Tommee Tippee voucher which people have reported as working for this set so that will make it £14.99. I've reserved mine so I'll report back tomorrow to let you's know if it works. If it's not in stock at an argos near you just check online everyday and it should come back in stock within a few days.

Hope you don't mind me jumping on here...everything I've bought for my baby has been a bargain !!

Kiddicare website do very cheap top/tail bowls...

It's also worth checking them for playmat deals. Last week I bought the Fisher Price Rainforest Gym from them for £27.99...it's back up to £49.99 now but apparently they often have offers.

BabysComingHomeForXmas · 19/09/2014 11:44

This is a beautiful but expensive range www.isme.com/e/q/timbuktales.end?_requestid=63681
if you haven't shopped with isme before pm me your full name and email address and you will be sent a £20 off a £45 spend code (you need to open a credit account but can pay it off straight away) and I will get a reward for recommending you to. There's also a free delivery code for isme 4RUWU which ends on Monday. There's loads of other stuff on the site too.

I've got quite a few second hand bits from a site called varagesale.com - the name isn't great, but i think its supposed to stand for virtual garage sale. Lots of people selling nearly new baby bits, clothes etc. and free to list your stuff as well. Worth having a look to see if there is one in your area. There are lots of nice ladies on my local one, and they also post about local baby/toddler events.

Heels99 · 19/09/2014 13:59

Seriously, you don't need all this stuff! Being on a budget surely means don't buy stuff you don't need rather than buy tonnes of stuff cheap?

NCT sales are good. Lots of people will buy you presents. Step away from the "bargains".

PeppermintInfusion · 19/09/2014 14:05

The tommy tippee starter sets are cheapest on amazon so far, nearly bought one in tesco til DH decided to google it for reviews.

cowbiscuits · 19/09/2014 14:12

What heels said! You really don't need much at all for a new baby!

Beware of those online sites with discounts! They are mostly not cheap at all. They may have big discounts, but the products are still expensive! In what world is £24 for a changing mat a bargain? Mine cost £6 off amazon- it's plastic so you can hose it down in the bath. One has a changing mat with furry edges on. What a terrible idea.

I was going to offer money saving tips like not buying useless crap like top and tail bowls (use an icecream tub)

Second hand is the way forwards. I am on an interest related facebook group for local parents which has a "buy-it-sell-it-swap-it page" I have bought and sold stuff locally on this and because it's part of a community people generally are fair aren't trying to make loads of money.

A local church has a nearly new sale every few months.

Ah don't be mean everyone gets a bit pfb and you don't realise how ridiculous top and tail bowls are until after you have a baby.

if you are definitely doing bottles it makes sense to stock up on bottles and sterilizing equipment nipples.

Moses baskets are great for first months as you can drag them round the hosue, but don't spend more than a fiver on them.. I saw 3 last week at my local bootsale and they are always on freecycle.

Nappies you should stock up on.

Not everyone is given lots or anything, so depends on how many/how generous your family are.

baby clothes you can buy by the bag off ebay/fb selling pages. Super cheaps at bootsales
