Rennies didn't touch it, Gaviscon made me vomit more violently than I have EVER vomited - anyone have a magic cure they can suggest?

Few things that helped me- no fizzy drinks, no spicy food, no onions, no tomato based dishes and no fruit juice I know it sounds boring but they all really worked plus sleeping with pillows propping you up if you are being sick in your sleep which I was :( hope it helps anyway

poorbuthappy · 09/08/2014 19:19

Walkers ready salted crisps.

BiggerYellowTaxi · 09/08/2014 19:22

Ranitidine. Works wonders though I still had to double up with Gaviscon near the end.

MrsMonkeyBear · 09/08/2014 19:39

GP just put me on omeprazole. Went from feeling like I could puke out of my ears to almost normal (still get a bit refluxy if I have an empty stomach) in 2 days.

stargirl1701 · 09/08/2014 19:40

Zantac (Ranitidine).

frankiebuns · 09/08/2014 19:52

Love hearts, refreshers, milk, lucuzade sipped, I couldn't stand gaviscon my friend who is a norwegian nurse told me of the above all work wonders

LBNM19 · 09/08/2014 20:12

Omperzole I had it so badly now don't get it at all it's amazing xx

FunkyBoldRibena · 09/08/2014 20:14

Rantadine if no omeprazole available.

Septbaby · 09/08/2014 20:15

Natural yogurt works also, just the plain stuff, the good bacteria is good for your tummy as well as helping to relieve some of the acid, I feel your pain but so grateful that gaviscon helps me xx

laura2323 · 09/08/2014 20:24

Love hearts and milk x

chocolocodowninacapulco · 09/08/2014 20:30

Eat an apple, or even half of of one. It really does work, honestly. I was gulping gaviscon like there was no tomorrow at one point and now couldn't drink it if you paid me - urrgh!

houghtonk76 · 09/08/2014 20:31

Am 7 weeks in and same problem, feeling nauseous and bloated a lot. Finding that the following work for me, mint tic tacs, superdrug own spearmint indigestion tabs, cold water, no spicy food, nothing too big / filling or highly flavoured (or sweet), caffiene a no no, decaff and herbal (esp Lemon & ginger) tea working, can't do coffee. Also lightly flavoured pop corn as a snack or cashews, lightly salted popcorn or light vanilla & coconut flavour best.
Hadn't thought of love hearts or refreshers, but thought lucuzade may work.

houghtonk76 · 09/08/2014 20:34

The worst thing is not being able to take hayfever tabs - have been really suffering since Wed but docs Tues, so hoping they can prescribe me something as being able to breath & swallow would help too!

Ginger ale worked wonders for me Smile

Lalalax3 · 09/08/2014 20:43

Ranitidine (150mg 2x a day, from GP) and milk!

outtheothersidefinally · 09/08/2014 20:44

Ice cold milk. Trevor extra sting mints. Not at the same time!

Ginger beer and eating little and often trying not to let your stomach go empty.

Ranitidine and omeprazole. Both can be bought OTC.

I've seen a few posters have suggested milk - yes this does help but I have been told that it makes the problem worse in the long term. I'm not sure about this so maybe look it up.

Binglesplodge · 09/08/2014 23:00

Another vote for Omeprazole - free on prescription and makes all the difference in the world. Don't suffer through: pop to the doctor and you'll be glad you did!

SingSongSlummy · 09/08/2014 23:04

A teaspoon of bicarb of soda in a mug of warm water will help. Milk sits not help long term as it's actually acidic. Cream, however is alkaline, so may help!

I drank pints and pints of Gaviscon throughout both my pregnancies (and puked in my sleep, as mentioned by PP)

TestingTestingWonTooFree · 10/08/2014 06:49

I'd be cautious about taking omeprazole without medical advice. I was on it pre-pregnancy and haven't been allowed to carry on. I am envious of the ladies who've been prescribed it. I've been making do with ranitidine and gaviscon. Remegel tablets are inoffensive - they're like mint chewits.

MoominMama2 · 10/08/2014 06:55

Maalox on prescription from dr worked for me

Brabra · 10/08/2014 07:00

Papaya enzyme

Lisad1975 · 10/08/2014 07:02

Omeprozole! Made me feel
Like a new woman !
