First Scan reveals high risk of Down's

I went for my first ultrasound yesterday and the nuchal test revealed that I have 1:15 chance of having a baby with downs (it's usually 1:300 for women my age - 24)

They want me to come back and do another diagnostic test before i'm 14 weeks which is in 2 weeks time.

Is there anyone else experiencing this or have had similar experience

I'm so pleased and have everything crossed for the results of your bloods. Perhaps the sonographer you saw first time wasn't properly trained or took the measurement from the wrong angle.

I feel exactly the same about CVS as you do.

I had my nuchal today and the beanie's nuchal fold is 1:7mm, v.similar to yours, which they said was a good measurement. I have a combined test as well, on Monday, just to make sure, as I'm 42 so my risk is high anyway.

I'll be thinking of you Mon/Tues - make sure you let us now what happens with the blood tests.

Hi guys

I got my results today and I've been given a very low risk of 1:27000 chance!

I'm serioulsy thinking of sueing the Royal Free hospital for emotional distress that they put me through this last week!

Just wanted to let you know and thank you all for your support
