Does it smell like wee?

If you have any suspicion your waters have gone ring your labour ward now.

Banderchang · 22/12/2013 20:03

Have you rung your hospital? Does it smell like waters (sweet smelling)? Hope everything is ok.

HermioneWeasley · 22/12/2013 20:03

Ring a midwife ASAP

In the meantime have you tried sniffing it to check you've not wet yourself? Not unheard of in pregnancy.

BusWanker · 22/12/2013 20:04

Go to labour ward asap. They tell you immediately if it's your waters.
If not its just wee, don't be embarrassed. Happens all the time.
Defo get it checked out.

AHardDaysWrite · 22/12/2013 20:05

Phone the labour ward for advice. They will probably want you to get checked out.

jessandalfie · 22/12/2013 20:05

Taxi to hospital? Ring labour ward and ask what they recommend.

IDontDoIroning · 22/12/2013 20:07

Ring the labour ward or the midwife.

ginmakesitallok · 22/12/2013 20:07

Call your midwife

BusWanker · 22/12/2013 20:07

Get someone to take you or get a taxi if you can afford it. It's important to get it checked out.

TeaAndSconesTwice · 22/12/2013 20:08

Phone the hospital & speak to someone, was it a gush when you stood up?

AHardDaysWrite · 22/12/2013 20:08

Can't you drive yourself? You're not having contractions? You need to phone them.

IComeFromALandDownUnder · 22/12/2013 20:08

Taxi? Neighbour? Friend?

Ring the hospital now. Explain you have no way of getting in.

ComfySlipperGirl · 22/12/2013 20:08

Can you not drive yourself? Call your midwives on their OOH number or the Maternity Ward and ask for advice. I hope everything is okay.

hootloop · 22/12/2013 20:09

If it it doesn't smell like wee, you need to speak to the hospital and most likely go in. Good luck.

gaggiagirl · 22/12/2013 20:09

Call the labour ward! Nooooooooow!

Aldwick · 22/12/2013 20:09

Go to hospital ASAP - please

BikeRunSki · 22/12/2013 20:10

Ambulance? I know it's not normal, but if you are about to go into preterm labour, I think it is reasonable to make the call.

NotAQueef · 22/12/2013 20:10

Agree that you phone labour ward for advice.
Have you had a bath today - could it be bath water coming out?
Keep knickers in case they can test them and stick on a pad in case there is more.
Hope it turns out to be nothing. Our bodies do some strange things in pregnancy

IAmTheOneWhoKnocks · 22/12/2013 20:11

Definitely ring the midwife, it could well be your waters! Good luck.

Turnipsandsproutswithtinselon · 22/12/2013 20:11

This happened to me at 27 weeks. I had developed a hind water leak. Cue stay in hospital for weeks as concerned about infection. Continued to lose water periodically as the baby moved. Ds1 was induced at 34 weeks as the risk of infection was deemed higher than the risk of being prem.

At 27 weeks it was really frightening, but DS1 has just turned 7, and developmentally is fine.

I was in the office at work when it happened, and colleagues had to strong arm me to the hospital as I was in denial. I had a steroid injection to help with his lungs. After he was born he spent two weeks on neonatal.
Is this your first DC? I would phone the midwife and get checked out- Will be thinking of you- I remember how scary it was.

jessandalfie · 22/12/2013 20:11

I don't drive just trying to get in touch with my freind now yeah It was a gush, scared me tbh but iv got a sanitary towel on now going to give labour ward a ring
