Ok, don't panic. You're doing the right thing phoning them. Tell them you have no transport - if they're at all concerned they'll tell you to get an ambulance.

Turnipsandsproutswithtinselon · 22/12/2013 20:16

Mine was a gush too.. But not a flood if you know what I mean.

FobblyWoof · 22/12/2013 20:20

Definitely phone up and go in, very important. Good luck, let us know how it goes

TinTinsSexySister · 22/12/2013 20:21

This happened to me too. A gush! A large soaking wet patch on the bed - it was discharge. Blush

Was soooo much of it though I was convinced my waters had broken and went to the hosp.

Best to get it checked out, they were lovely when I did and I think it's quite common.

It happened to me in labour too. I kept telling the midwife my waters had broken but the hadn't, didn't until I was gone 6cms.

BusWanker · 22/12/2013 20:23

Sometimes it can be a wee infection, easily treated with antibiotics but more serious if left alone.

Shellywelly1973 · 22/12/2013 20:24

Hope your Ok op...good luck!

jessandalfie · 22/12/2013 20:29

Labour ward said to put a pad on and see if I fill that if I do to go in x

Hope you're ok OP. This happened to me although much later in pregnancy (37 weeks). It was a gush at first and then it just kept coming - running down legs and soaked the towel I sat on in the car. No contractions. Hospital confirmed it was waters and induced two days later.

If it was a one-off gush and has stopped maybe it was discharge/ something else. Keeping my fingers crossed for you and hope you're being looked after right now.

Haahoooo · 22/12/2013 20:34

I would try to go in either way just to get it checked - maybe get a friend to drive you if possible.

gaggiagirl · 22/12/2013 20:34

I was waddling down the stairs at 38 weeks when I had a gush. It was just wee though I didn't even realise I was weeing it was pretty involuntary.
I hope yours is wee or discharge. Lots of luck.

sarahleanne · 22/12/2013 20:41

good luck op let us know how you get on.

jessandalfie · 22/12/2013 21:23

My waters broke with first child an was induced 2 days later 2. Was abit like the first time but not got anything on the pad at the min so I'm abit confused x

And take your knickers or pad with you for them to look at and smell.

(What a job eh?)

VisualiseAHorse · 22/12/2013 22:45

Oh, and good luck!

gaggiagirl · 23/12/2013 08:49

How are things today OP?

TeaAndSconesTwice · 23/12/2013 12:50

How are you today op?

wifey6 · 23/12/2013 12:59

Hope you are ok OP.
Just to say, my friend's hind waters went around 28-29 weeks & although she required monitoring for prem labour or infection, she went to 39 weeks & had an ELCS.

How are you now OP? Do trust your instincts if you think it was your waters. I let the hospital convince me I'd wet myself when I had a gush at 38 weeks. I ended up with a serious uterine infection and was in hospital for a week on IV antibiotics. DS was fine and so was I (in the end!) but it wasn't fun. Don't want to scare you unduly but think it's important that you get checked out. Wishing you all the best.

jessandalfie · 23/12/2013 19:30
