so, from my entirely representative group of 6 members of my family and some friends, the people who went off tea in pregnancy all had girls.

any exceptions to this?

I could lie and say I did?

krabbiepatty · 05/07/2006 13:09

Zut alors, there was me trying to mess with your scientific method...

lummox · 05/07/2006 13:19

Rhubarb - that would be interfering with science.

My friend couldn't eat any citrus and she had a boy. Maybe fruit could be s sign..??!!

Gosh, these could run and run..!!

clairemow · 05/07/2006 18:05

went totally off tea in both pregnancies, and couldn't bear the smell of coffee. Have one boy and another boy on the way. Sorry!!

Lemmingswife · 05/07/2006 18:06

I went off tea during my second pregnancy, but not during my first.
I have two boys!

KathyMCMLXXII · 05/07/2006 18:07

Did go off tea, but also citrus. Had girl.

Mind you, as I had hyperemesis I went off most things so you can discount me if I mess up your statistics

ScoobyDooooo · 05/07/2006 18:08

No never went off it at all but then never been a "huge" fan of it, i had a boy & a girl!

sarahlou1uk · 05/07/2006 18:35

Currently 34 weeks pregnant with girl and not gone off tea - actually like it more now than before!

eidsvold · 05/07/2006 22:09

drank more tea than I ever drank before and had two girls.

PrettyCandles · 05/07/2006 22:12

I went off tea both times and had one of each. If anything I was more off tea with ds than with dd.

Sorry.

Albert · 05/07/2006 22:14

I went off tea before I even realised I was pregnant and couldn't drink it through out...I had a boy.

rbj949703 · 05/07/2006 22:32

Went off tea when pg with dd1 and never really got back on to it.

Went off peas with ds and again never really went back on them, unless they're frozen.

Went off stodge when pg with dd2, but have gone back on!

I went off coffee & had a boy... not sure it helps you though!

Flamesparrow · 05/07/2006 22:49

I liked both tea and coffee for both pregnancies... and had one of each.

Actually, tbh, I threw up pretty much everything for the first pregnancy, but that was down to pregnancy milk allergy, so techinically I was off tea and coffee.... but only due to the milk content.

Cassoulet · 05/07/2006 23:07

I had a girl but loved tea - went off meat though! Lived on cottage cheese (sad) and jam doughnuts.

Incidentally, DH has theory that if you have hayfever you don't get bitten by mosquitoes....

MrsJohnCusack · 05/07/2006 23:08

I was obsessed with tea, especially Earl Grey (had to carry teabags around with me at all times in case there wasn't any decent tea where I was), and I had a girl
