I'm due Thurs, I have a strong feeling I wont be going into labor anytime soon.

I go to bed quite early to rest and watch tv, it doesn't take long for the pain to kick in, the shitty pain that feels like you've just been kicked in your vagina apart from that, absolutely nothing!!

Fed up of having to fake a smile when people say 'he not here yet?, or aww he'll come when hes ready' I know that but MY body is ready NOW!!! arggggggggggggh...................

I must agree getting up in the night to feed the baby is better than getting up for the loo for the millionth time or because your hips are aching

FrogsGoWhat · 24/10/2013 19:14

Well cleaning the house and going for long walks both morning and afternoon have done nothing except bugger up my SPD so I can barely move this evening :(

honey86 · 24/10/2013 20:28

39w after midnight Grin or my scan due date today. i hope its the latter.

GreenGiant3 · 24/10/2013 22:12

Honey, I have had the same symptoms since 3/4 pm wishing this is it but won't hold my breath, a lady I know gave birth to a little girl today 39weeks, I am green with envy Envy wish it was me!!

WhenSheWasBadSheWasExhausted · 25/10/2013 07:39

Has no one given birth yet? These babies are so annoying.

honey green I know what you mean with the whole baby dropping and it hurting, with any luck things will kick off soon. Maybe this is it?

I'm lying next to dd who is poorly sick with a cold (she's ok just got a cough now). I'm sure my body is not letting me go into labour till she's well again come on body it's just a sniffle, evict the baby already I've had enough

SleepingWithABrokenHeart · 25/10/2013 08:18

Well I'm officially overdue :( lol.

Still no baby, but these past 2 nights hes been pushing on my cervix a lot which hurts, I hope that's a good sign!

I have my mum comming to visit tomorrow for the week, maybe hes just waiting for her Hmm

FrogsGoWhat · 25/10/2013 08:28

Well I'm now 3 days overdue.....

Annoyingly I was kept awake last night as every time I dropped off I would be woken by a contraction - about hourly until 2am when it stopped!

Then DD decided to keep waking up.....

It's going to be a fun day!

SleepingWithABrokenHeart · 25/10/2013 09:31

Frogs that sucks!

I'm going to go for a long walk later, I should be having a sweep Monday if I haven't gone into labour by then.

Has anybody has a successful sweep?

Excited85 · 25/10/2013 09:44

One whole week overdue now :-(

Had a sweep yesterday, cervix was up and closed so didn't look like little one would be going anywhere soon. She managed to get it in place and open (which wasn't particularly pleasant) but once she stopped yanking it was much more bearable! She did dislodge my plug also which was a good start.

Felt really optimistic yesterday after that as mw said she was sure I would start getting cramps yesterday and baby would turn up by end of weekend but after another night of no sleep and no twinges am well and truly fed up today. I truly think this baby doesn't want to come, and although I'm only a week over based on scan dates, on my dates it's more than 3 weeks late (they put me back 2 weeks at scan) so am starting to think there is something wrong...

Excited85 · 25/10/2013 09:45

Oh and also had a long walk yest aft following sweep and dtd again last night but clearly neither work. If one more person tells me a hot curry or sex will do the job I'm liable to hurt them! Sorry for the rant!!

purple84 · 25/10/2013 11:23

Excited I know what you mean, even when I say to people "we have tried everything" they still send a list of suggestions FFS....
Also please don't worry bout dates, your scan date will be the most accurate xx

What is it with these babies teasing us as well, last night really thought it was the night, painful contraction......then waited for next one but it never came.

I also have a sweep on Monday, I really want it to work so bad but starting to think it will never happen!!

Smitten1981 · 25/10/2013 11:28

Hi all

I'm 40+2 today and no sign of things kicking off. Cleaned the house all morning yesterday to try and keep active but all I did was give myself pelvis pain. Could barely move last night.

Nothing to do but sit around and wait today. Sigh.

Good to know I'm not alone though. Good luck to you all! Let's get things moving.

Excited85 · 25/10/2013 12:12

It's horrible isn't it purple, if one more person tells me to bounce on my ball, eat curry or have sex I'll go mad. I've had the ball stuck to my bum from about 26 weeks an as for the currys and sex dh has never had it so good!!!

Smerlin · 25/10/2013 12:46

3 days overdue here. For a bit of variation I went for an acupuncture session this morning which is supposed to induce labour.

Nothing happening so far but other people said it worked for them so who knows. Think will follow up with sex and a curry this evening!

Does anyone else get a sore tailbone from bouncing on the wretched ball?!

Von1973 · 25/10/2013 13:36

Hi everyone. I'm due today. Honestly didn't think I'd still be waiting as felt sure (perhaps wishful thinking), baby would be early. Like most of you, tired of waiting and at the slightest twinge, thinking 'is this it'? It's my first baby, also seriously fed up with the 'any news' texts and emails! Not that I wish anyone else to be in this position, but thank you, it helps to know I'm not alone.

SpoonfulOfJam · 25/10/2013 13:53

I have retired to my bed with a hot water bottle. I am waiting for the back ache to go... I am sure today's not the day, my body is just falling apart! As I posted earlier, the pain usually goes by late morning, today it's being more persistent. Losing more of my plug.

I am due on Tuesday so still hopeful that things will progress naturally.

SleepPleaseSleep · 25/10/2013 13:54

Jolly good luck all of you. And be warned! My ds kept me waiting, practising my contractions, for 2 weeks. And then on the weekend before I was due to be induced, contractions started again at half-past midnight. I thought - tired, fed up and a bit jaded - I'd get up for a bit and walk round then go back to bed. Half an hour later, i suggested to my equally jaded dh that perhaps he should get up - I was getting dressed just in case. Half an hour after that, not having succeeded in getting fully dressed, I was screaming for a taxi, and half an hour again, the taxi was racing through the night, jumping level crossings just as they shut, with a very worried driver saying 'not now missus please'. Baby arrived at 2.45 am!
About bloody time too, I told him!

Excited85 · 25/10/2013 14:04

Fingers crossed for you Spoonful!

Smerlin, let us know how accupuncture goes. I tried reflexology earlier this week but clearly didn't work for me so I hope you have better luck :-)

Sleep, I can just imagine that happening! You must have been so panicked. I imagine my little one will just string it out, will probably be in labour for a week at this rate!

ChocChaffinchEvilGhostBird · 25/10/2013 14:30

when I went 11+ with dd, someone suggested pineapple to me in my mother's hearing. She seriously thought I was going to, a-hem, 'put it somewhere'. she was most concerned I removed the prickles first Hmm

Lj8893 · 25/10/2013 14:42

choc that's brilliant!! The kind of thing my mum would say!

I've eaten loads of pineapple this week, hasn't worked yet and I now have a sore tongue!

ChocChaffinchEvilGhostBird · 25/10/2013 15:07

didn't work for me either. maybe you are supposed to do 'the other' with it

BummyMummy77 · 25/10/2013 15:20

I'm SO bored! I can't do anything due to back pain, hip pain and shooting pains in my arse, sickness is back with a vengeance and my acid is just shooting out of my mouth.

I want to clean the house for the midwives but can't get off the sofa.

Dh tried sex but I'm too fat to get it in.

I've eaten millions of pissing pineapples, eat spicy food every night and tried foot zoning (which actually gave me a couple of contractions but it freaked dh out so much he wouldn't carry on. And it hurt my feet.)

And the next person to suggest walking lots - argh! I'd need to high dose of morphine to walk past my front door.

SpoonfulOfJam · 25/10/2013 16:25

Bummy- hilarious, we have really struggled to have 3rd trimester sex too! (well, any sex at all really!)

Well I've been having contractions for a couple of hours. I'm not getting my hopes up, but I am now pottering, making sure I stay upright and mobile, just in case this is for real. Will also shave my legs when my husband gets back from work. (I think I mentioned on another thread, I am afraid of getting stuck in the bath!!)

Checking the hospital bags now.

Wish me luck, but I would put money on me checking back in tomorrow after probably a sleepless night with no baby to show for it!

purple84 · 25/10/2013 16:31

Spoonful Fingers crossed it has to happen at some point, right???

Good luck ladies x
