Wondering what u would all do in my situation? Baby is normally very active but yesterday barely kicked at all and I havent felt anything today :(

dont usually like calling the hospital as they kind of just brush me off most of the time and say 'oh its normal' .. havent had reduced movements before today/yesterday. First baby x

I would absolutely go to hospital. Please don't leave it, please go now.

BumgrapesofWrath · 27/08/2013 23:54

Ring your delivery suite ASAP

meditrina · 27/08/2013 23:55

Ring immediate for advice. Expect to go in.

Witchesbrewandbiscuits · 27/08/2013 23:55

yes go straight away. you won't be a nuisance, that's what they're there for.

PattieOfurniture · 27/08/2013 23:56

Go to hospital Op

Witchesbrewandbiscuits · 27/08/2013 23:56

you will have to ring and let them know you're coming.

thornrose · 27/08/2013 23:56

Ring your midwife and go in for monitoring, you will not be brushed off.

I did this and within 5 minutes of bring hooked up to machines she moved!

Midwives were happy and didnt make me feel I'd wasted anyones time.

HappyAsASandboy · 27/08/2013 23:57

Phone the labour ward now. Or your Out Of Hours GP service, or turn up at A&E. any of which should result in a frustrating two hours lying on a bed with foetal monitors recording baby's heartbeat.

Do one of those things now.

TheFantasticFixit · 27/08/2013 23:57

Echo everyone else's comments. You needs to be observed and baby to be checked - do it now, they will see you.

Hope all is well Thanks

BunInMyOven93 · 27/08/2013 23:58

It's ok, you'll be fine, get yourself to hospital for reassurance Flowers

TheYoniWayIsUp · 28/08/2013 00:02

Ring the delivery suite, their number should be on your maternity notes.
Good luck xx

TobyLerone · 28/08/2013 00:19

They won't mind reassuring you. Good luck, OP Flowers

ChimeForChange · 28/08/2013 00:21

They won't mind - I went about 4 times worrying and they were always lovely and checked everything to reassure me.

Better to be safe than sorry x x

kohl · 28/08/2013 00:24

Definitely go tonight.

Pachacuti · 28/08/2013 00:26

It can be normal, yes. The chances are that it is normal. But you should absolutely get checked out ASAP.

valiumredhead · 28/08/2013 00:35

Have you tried drinking a very cold glass of juice?

If that doesn't work, definitely go in x

Wishfulmakeupping · 28/08/2013 00:38

Go to hospital honestly hope everything's fine

SisterMatic · 28/08/2013 01:02

It can be normal, baby could have changed position and now be kicking towards your back..but please go and get it checked. I went several times with both of my dds.

mikkii · 28/08/2013 01:07

I addition to valium's suggestion of a cold drink, also eat some chocolate. Get moving, but also go in and get checked. I was rubbish at noticing baby move, I was too busy at work to think about it, but the one time I then sat and waited but didn't get movement, I went in, was monitored and everything was fine.

They would rather monitor you and reassure you, than you sit at home worrying.

BunInMyOven93 · 28/08/2013 01:10

i rang labour ward and they said to go in. Lay on.the bed and drank a cold drink whilst.waiting for my mum to pick me up to take me in and felt a few small movements. Rang labour ward back to let them know and they said to stay at home for now lay down and try and count kicks for the next hour and call them back and let them know. Been lay here for half hour or so and can definately feel her. She must just be having a lazy day thank god!!

Thankyou for all your replies. Xx

I would still go in for monitoring if you are feeling reduced movements xx

BunInMyOven93 · 28/08/2013 01:17

I'll call them back with my counts in half an hour and see what they say. no doubt i'll be up all night now anyway so i'll see what happens x

I'm so glad you have felt something. DD (my third DC), was very quiet in the womb - she would go quiet for days at a time, but as I was on twice weekly monitoring anyway for other problems I was able to be hooked up to the baby monitor twice a week (more if needed) & hear her heartbeat.

My two boys were very active, so I did worry at first. The hospital's advice was always to go in if I'd felt no movements that day - and whenever I did, there would be 3 or 4 other women there for the same reason.

Very often it is fine, but you must always get it checked straightaway.

DaleyBump · 28/08/2013 02:02

Please please please don't faff about with cold drinks and something sweet unless you've been asked to by a midwife. Even then, only sit for a half hour. It's something that needs checked urgently.
