The sickness, I mean. I'm not actually being sick, but the constant unrelenting nausea and gagging is really getting to me. I know it's a good sign, but I'm only 7 weeks and the thought of potentially another 6-7 weeks of this is just hideous. I can't function, I can barely stand upright, the only think that even vaguely reduces it is eating to I am going to end up going the way I did with dd and putting on far too much weight.

I CAN'T DO THIS - someone stop it, please!

Ahh bless you. I can't offer help but I can offer sympathy.
and it's hard to feel lucky when you are wrapped around a toilet bowl!
hang in there!

steakchipsandfriedeggs · 22/06/2013 10:28

Poor you, I had nausea with no sickness too, it's grotty :( try drinking lots of refreshing lemony drinks, make sure they're really cold, it does give (temporary) relief!

Hopefully the sickness won't last too long, I distinctly remembering it kicking in on the tube at 6 weeks, and then waking up by about 11weeks with it gone. Eat little and often, and keep hydrated.

Congratulations and good luck x

MakeGlutenFreeHay · 22/06/2013 10:34

Thank you. Sad

I'm really hoping this is the peak and it starts easing off for a while before stopping. It's grim.

No pills yet, stickortwist. I'm considering begging the dr.... I've ordered a morningwell cd from eBay in desperation!

Hand to hold, cool damp flannel, and opened the windows.

And a cool glass of tonic water sans gin for you too.

Is there a trashy enough magazine hanging around that could distract you?

MakeGlutenFreeHay · 22/06/2013 11:32

I've got the Lions test on, like the idea of tonic - esp with lemon. Coke seems to help a little (not great, I know!). Ds jumping on me is not helping much.....

Hare you tried seabands wristbands? They're for travel sickness and worked really well for me

HotSoupDumpling · 22/06/2013 16:39

I could have written your OP! Each day I could only concentrate on just getting through to the next day...I was that demotivated!

MakeGlutenFreeHay · 22/06/2013 19:33

Sea sickness bands just don't really work for me - or maybe I'm giving up on them too soon. How long before they kicked in?

HotSoup - it's miserable, isn't it?! I'm currently running scientific(ish) tests on bitter lemon, ginger ale and tonic water. One has got to help, surely?

stillwaters76 · 22/06/2013 19:48

stillwaters76 · 22/06/2013 19:48

CPtart · 22/06/2013 19:52

6-7 more weeks??? 6-7 more months if you're anything like me!!

Hopefully not though. Hang in there.

FoofFighter · 22/06/2013 20:01

Another who had the 24/7 nausea but no sickness, I think people sometimes don't realise exactly how debilitating it is :(

Only things I could do to help were stay away from any food that wasn't bland and beige, and suckign sour haribos helped on occasion. And small sips iced water or lemonade.

chocolatemartini · 22/06/2013 20:08

I feel for you. My ms was the worst suffering yet in my life. Labour was a breeze after that Grin so was norovirus.

Nothing helped me. The only positive thing I can tell you is that when you meet your baby it will be totally worth it.

MummyTheresAfireBeeOnYourHead · 22/06/2013 20:20

Gp may give u cyclizine, I was never sick but they gave me some as was so nauseous was struggling get thru day with two dc under 5 to deal with and it really helped, I didn't take it all the time but for about four weeks it saved me, now week 12 and don't need them. Speak to midwife or doc if its really affecting how you function day to day, just because you don't have hg doesn't mean you can't complain and it's still awful! I did get dehydrated as could barely eat/drink and did have to have an iv in hosp as also ended up with nasty uti that went to kidneys, give me morn sickness anytime over a kidney infection!! Keep strong the first few weeks are hard as u have no bump, don't feel baby move till later and all still so unsure and weird but it gets more real and less yukky as the weeks and just days pass!

Staceys1st · 22/06/2013 20:23

I'm just coming up to twelve weeks and still sick every day ALL day, you have my sympathy!! It's totally debilitating, every time I feel a little better and decide to eat the smell of the food cooking makes me worse :(

Two things have helped; first toast - just force it in! (I know, I know I'm shuddering now) then small sips of milk straight after but make sure you drink a full glass - little amounts of milk will make you sick!!

The other thing was my partner started freezing cups about 1/3 full of water and I fill the rest from the tap and sip - the tingly coldness seems to help! Half the time I think I feel so nauseous because my temperature comes up.

Just one more thing hun, i don't know if anyone told you yet but morning sickness is a sign of a healthy baby so fingers crossed yours in a little superhero :)

Hope you're feeling better xx

poppygolucky · 22/06/2013 22:26

You have my sympathies. This is my second and last pg due to ms and nausea. Just ruined me for a good 7 or 8 weeks, and I was in tears wretching in the toilet most days.

Eating bland food little and often, fizzy drinks and taking one day at a time was the only way I got through. Am now 27 weeks and although the end not quite in sight, I know in a few weeks i'll be on the home straight. Just keep going and you'll get through it.

embaker112 · 23/06/2013 00:13

I am so sorry you're suffering. I know exactly how you feel. I had constant nausea until 14-15 weeks. It was the hardest thing I've been through in my life! Sounds ridiculous but I'm sure you know what I mean. Just get through day by day and try not to think ahead much. I spent everyday trying to guess when it would go away and just wallowing in it. Tackle each day as it comes and do anything that will make you feel better that day, even if it's not good for you eg. Crisps, chips etc. I also downloaded an eliminate nausea hypnotherapy track. I can't say it helped much (probably because I didn't stick with it) but it was a definite 30 min respite from feeling terrible just by relaxing and focussing on the track.

You will get through it!! :)

FatPenguin · 23/06/2013 12:06

You have my sympathy, I am 6 weeks and the last couple of days nausea has got increasingly worse. Like you I'm not being sick just feeling it. Have been in bed all weekend, don't know how I'm going to cope with work. Ice cold drinks are the only thing I want and bread. Worried I'm not getting enough goodness from food but I've read that so long as you take your vitamins/folic acid baby should be ok. Hope you start to feel better soon, its a miserable time. X

FoofFighter · 23/06/2013 13:05

Also take your vitamins last thing at night, it could well be those adding to the nausea.
Once I stopped my pregnacare as even switching to night times didn't work, and switched to getting my folic acid from cereal and ovaltine it improved a huge deal.

MakeGlutenFreeHay · 23/06/2013 19:26

Interesting about vitamins at night, thank you although currently also feel sick all night too Sad). Sorry to all those also suffering - thistooshallpass, thistooshallpass.....etc.

Urgh, sorry for typos. Thank you for all your responses - am off to the dr to beg tomorrow (feel like such a wuss, it wasn't nearly this bad first two times, at least there was some let-up!)

Pusspuss1 · 23/06/2013 19:29

See your GP! I had constant nausea too and was prescribed cyclizine. It was a lifesaver.
