Waterproof Mattress Protector for waters breaking - Are you buying/using one?

Hi,

I am wondering whether any of you have purchased or used a waterproof mattress protector just in case waters break in bed?

If you did get one, which one did you get? Any recommendations?

I got mine from ebay - I figured I'd chuck it out afterwards so didn't want to spend much... it was £2.35 including delivery!

I bought this one it's not plasticky at all, I put a normal cotton mattress protector on top just in case but it would be fine without.

It's useful not just for water's breaking but also if you're co-sleeping, feeding in bed, or just leaking milk. I ruined our old mattress with leaking milk, but it needed replacing anyway, not risking the brand new one this time.

Oh yeah, I should point out that I have a regular cotton mattress topper on top - I hate that plasticy rustling feeling too!

I did buy one but not for my waters, i bought it because i had leaky breasts from 24 weeks and cannot abide a bra in bed.

DD is now 8 Weeks and i am BF so the protector us still handy as i often wake in a wet patch which would be on the mattress if not for it!

i got a Fogarty one, nothing fancy.

I've bought a quilted protector from dunelm mill for £20. We got a gorgeous mattress about 2 years ago and I hate the thought that it may or may not get ruined by waters, leaky breasts, vomity children etc!
Was a bit worried about rolling off a pad or towel or them not being up to the job if the quantity of liquid is high so decided to bite the bullet on a full protector.
Went for the 'posher' quilted one so I hope it doesn't feel plastiky or too sweaty... Only 34 weeks so haven't used it yet but might put it on soon in case things happen early...

i used some waterproofsheets from www.brollysheets.co.uk/
although the shower curtains is a good suggestion!

I wouldn't worry about my waters breaking in bed (never did) but as general protection with little children & tots & babies in the house, not a bad idea at all. I'd get a quality washable one.

Got ours from Dunelm. Very comfy, jot plasticky.

Thanks everyone! :) Finally ordered the towelling one from amazon by comfort nights as it allows drying in tumble dryer too, whereas the ones from dunelm mill and debenhams don't allow tumble dry.

This is the one we have. Great thing is that you can't feel it on the bed and it covers the whole top so no chance of it moving like a loose pad might do.
