(I've copied and pasted this for out Due in Jan thread. I just want to ask the masses...)

I'm pretty sure none of you will have an answer for this but how can I stop feeling so anxious?

I'm am absolutey petrified that something bad is going to happen with this pregnancy. Really really scared.
Yes, I was nervous about things when I was PG before but nothing like this. As soon as I open my eyes in the morning my mind is racing and I'm constantly feeling worried/paranoid/scared that ever little niggle is a bad sign.

I'm not quite 6 weeks yet...if I go on worrying like this I'll drive myself mad.

There isn't anything I can do though, is there?

Magnolia pin pointed the feeling perfectly....I've had 3 happy healthy pregancies and now feel that my luck has run out and that something bad will happen no matter what.
Sad

I can't go on feeling such negative and sad thoughts, it can't be abit healthy.

LTH- I really emapathise. I did 4 pregnancy tests last week and I still do not want to believe I am pregnant with no.4. A year too soon and I feel terrible when I think of the IVF people trying so hard and here i am not wanting to be pregnant. One night!!!!! I feel so low, ratty, sick and dh doesn't understand one little bit- all he wants is more b'ding!!( i know it will work out and i will love the baby the minute i have a scan, but just now i am angry.)

Sorry about the rant. Also why is it that when you need support in the first trimester dh bans you from telling anyone- ha- he doesn't know i have posted here!

Just thought I'd update you all. Been trying to think positively and to a certain extent have managed it then had some wierd pains in the last 24 hrs and the sickness vanished completely. Cue scared LTH again.
I've copied and pasted the following from the due jan thread coz I can't be fudged to type it all again....

Went to the EPU this morning because along with the sickness vanishing I've been having a few wierd pains. Really sharp jabbing type pains, nothing like I remebered at this stage before. Paranoia went through the roof so I blagged an appt (it's an appt only EPU and I just turned up)

They aren't agony by any means but it's a constant niggle IYKWIM.

Had an internal scan which showed a teeny weeny little dot in a egg sack. I thought I was over 6 weeks but she seem to think I'm not that yet....anyway my teeny weeny little dot had an even teeny weenier heart beat.

Pains have been put down to ligaments and uterus stretching etc

So now i just have the LOOOONNGGGGG wait until 12 weeks for another scan.

Just spotted this thread, LTH. So pleased to hear that all was well when you had your scan - it is so reassuring to see that tiny heartbeat isn't it?
I know exactually how you feel atm, as I was like this in the early stages of both my pregnancies, due to the fact I had suffered a miscarraige before falling pregnant with DS1. The pregnancy was very unplanned (was using persona for contraception) & I was devastated when I got the positive result, but when I had a very painful miscarraige a week later I felt devastated.
I fell pregnant with DS1 after taking my pill 4 hours too late & much as I was shocked at first, I was so petrified of miscarrying again & was frightened of every little twinge. I had an early scan & felt so much better seeing this little broad bean with a heartbeat.Smile
I still panicked through the entire pregnancy though & didn't calm down until he was in my arms!
I had a little pain & bleeding during the early stages with DS2, leading to another early scan.
My H was a complete arse throughout my second pregnancy too, but adores DS2 now he is here.
I will stop waffling now, but I am thinking of you. Those first 12 weeks can be a frightening time.xx

Just seen this thread, and wanted to add...I had the ligamenty, sharp pains much earlier this time, and they worried me too (4 previous m/c). Reading your post makes me wonder if its just normal to feel things earlier and more intensely the second time...heartburn and piles seem to have kicked in a lot sooner too...Blush
Heartbeat is an excellent predictor and good sign - congratulations! May the next few weeks pass quickly...

LTH - I am on my third pregnancy, the first two ended in miscarriage last year. I constantly had pains liek you describe in my early weeks and after i miscarried put the pains down to that. In my third pregnancy i had the same pains, which proved to me that they were a normal sign of pregnancy and nothing to worry about at all. our bodies are going through so much and if only we could see inside and find out whats happening all the time. Your body is adjusting thats all, even with 3 prior pregnancies your body is still going through some miraculous stuff.
I know its hard to say enjoy it and try to stay positive. Your baby will be fine, your pains are normal and be thanjful that you don't feel as nauseous as before, we are all different. Your baby has a heartbeat, that is a big milestone for it to pass. Look after yourself, it will all be fine. I am now 37 wks and can't wait to see my little one.

elibean yes things kick in sooner. just had ds2 and felt very pregant very soon than with ds2. can say that birth was much better with ds2
