i had a baby in february.
after the lochia setelled i had a normal period.
but last month the period came 3 days earlier,it was just spots of brown mucus.
yet i counted 27 days for my next one.
i have sex almost every day and surprisingly i found that i was wrong in counting for my ovulation and i`m now terrified that i might be pregnant again.
any support or advice?

I wondered that Tutter.........

starlover · 08/05/2006 14:04

think that's a good idea jomana. that way you can enjoy yourself without having to worry about counting or getting pregnant!
good luck

zippitippitoes · 08/05/2006 14:04

there are loads of different methods, visit a family planning clinic..if you don't want to think about getting pregnant for a few years find out about an implant

PinkKerPlink · 08/05/2006 14:06

are you 12?

I have had a coil and it really doesn't hurt at all, and I am a complete wimp about any sort of pain. It is certainly no worse than a smear

HappyMumof2 · 08/05/2006 14:14

how can you be afraid of having a coil fitted when you have given birth??? You'll be wishing you had the bloody thing fitted when you're giving birth again in a few months time, believe me

Pruni · 08/05/2006 14:16

If - if - Arabic is your first language then Pill will come out as bill. Stop being mean.

Pruni · 08/05/2006 14:17

That's to all you lot with your troll-dar pinging!

Tutter · 08/05/2006 14:19

ah, to be honest pruni, it's just hard to be sympathetic to someone who says "i have sex every day without conctraception - sob - i may be pregnant". there are many of us out there who struggle big time to get pg, so this kind of naivete sticks in my throat a bit. hence meanness.

jomana · 11/05/2006 15:53

youre soooooooo mean to me!!!! ive only written for advice and support not to be judjed as naieve and 12 years old!
i was using the natura way of counting as my gp recommended in my 8 weeks check up,because i didnt want to repeat my birth pain, and pills hurt the body. suddenly my period became irregular because im breastfeeding, that`s when i started to sob!

HappyMumof2 · 11/05/2006 15:54

If having sex every day makes you a size 10 then I think I might give it go. Grin

expatinscotland · 11/05/2006 16:07

Jo
I will repeat what I said, get to GUM clinic or Family Planning clinic. ANY GP who did not adequately explain all the options of birth control open to you - even whilst breastfeeding - should be complained about.

Pills do not 'hurt the body' unless there is a medical reason you should not take them. I cannot take the combined pill, for example, b/c I am over 35 and have a very, very strong history of heart attack and hypertension in my family.

'Counting' is NOT a reliable form of birth control, nor is withdrawing, for most of the population.

You deserve to have someone explain the options open to you if you truly do not want to become pregnant again for a while.

jomana · 11/05/2006 16:15

thanks!!!
ill go to the gp anyway,if im pregnant ill really complain. ill call my local health clinic to contact the family planning clinic.

im not english ,so its hard to know wher to go and what to do.services here are very different.

expatinscotland · 11/05/2006 16:19

where are you? most larger cities have a family planning clinic. they may even offer translating services for those who do not have a good grasp of English.

a phone book or a search on www.yell.com will also tell you if you have a family planning clinic in your area.

if you are not pregnant, you do have some options open to you if you are still breastfeeding: the Mirena coil, the progesten-only Pill, the implant, for ex.

expatinscotland · 11/05/2006 16:22

also, most family planning clinics offer caregivers who are female, so if you are from a culture where you prefer to have a female caregiver, this can be arranged.

jomana · 11/05/2006 16:24

wow!
uoy really know alot!
