Sophie bra I think by panache. Theres a pink one snd a blsck obe. got it at bravissimo but you can get it online with figleaves. Have you been measured recently though? I changed size a lot during pg and while nursing. I was E cup before but nursing bra is a G I think

I started on mamaway lounge bras which are very comfortable but not very supportive great to wear in bed. Then got mothercare proper nursing bras which I hated and didn't wash well. Finally i tried marks and Spenser ones which were great, already fished them out this pregnancy as my boobs have grown and was like ooh these are comfy.. I think the moral of my story is keep trying different places till you find one that works for you

Anita feeding bra is great - underwired and supportive

sugarandspite · 01/12/2012 08:08

Buy a couple of cheap basic ones for the first couple of weeks - soft and stretchy are best as your boobs will go up and down in size hugely.

After 2-3 weeks if you can, go and get measured somewhere decent (not m&s!) who are experienced with nursing boobs - ask around for suggestions, often a small independent is best.

Once you've got properly measured and know our size in a couple of different brands, have a look online. The Anita ones are good and hot milk are beautiful but not cheap. Then order lots, try on and return.

It's really worth making sure they fit well as also choose some that you think are pretty. You may be wearing them for quite a while and it's so easy to feel frumpy and mumsy without wearing an old granny bra!

John Lewis often have some nice ones too

Nervousfirsttimer · 01/12/2012 08:11

I've found debenhams do some good ones by Miriam Stoppard. (I'm currently a G cup and they are really supportive) they have then with 20% off till Sunday Smile

Thank you all!

Mine are from debenhams and they are still as good as new and ds is 17 months Smile

Salamanger · 01/12/2012 09:22

Bravado was the one i settled for after awful time with mothercare bras. Also had Royce-comfy but bad shape. Liked them for the silver anti bac fabric. I got the Bravado online but John Lewis do them. Its not wired but has a shaped suport in it.Still wear it now.

Yy to get measured well. If you are anywhere near one Pretty Pregnant were lifesavers. I'm also an E and it was getting painful. Mothercare measured me ridiculously wrongly then Pretty Pregnant saved my sanity.

Kelbells · 01/12/2012 09:29

I was an ff before pregnancy and a gg at the end, I was measured in bravissimo and bought 2 gorgeous Freya nursing bras... They weren't cheap (about £30 each) but now my DS is 6 weeks my milky boobs are the only bit of me with a touch of glamour everyday Grin.... For me it was really worth it for the fit - I didn't want them any further south than necessary! - and having something that made me feel relatively normal!

Anita for daytime and bravado seamless tanks for night.

nannyl · 01/12/2012 11:17

I was quite happy with my mothercare bras

they feel like they fitted well for the 13months I used them

DeathMetalMum · 01/12/2012 13:36

I used miriam stroppard ones from debenhams. First used some with soft padded cups which allthough were nice and hid the bulky breast pad the padded bit got in the way a little. Then switched to some soft cup ones same brand and they were great. Lasted really well. Have a look around New Look actually do some quite pretty ones also lacey but only online. I really didnt like the look of the plain white nursing bras which is what most places do. So avoided those.

SuzanneC1 · 04/01/2013 16:52

I used to buy a brand called Bravado - also Elle Mcpherson does a brilliant range called Intimates - i think. Yeah Figleaves have a great selection.

Stixswhichtwizzle · 04/01/2013 17:28

I am using a brand called Hot Milk as they are more attractive and have more 'lift' than my previous m&s and mothercare ones.

bealos · 05/01/2013 00:33

Received my order from From Here to Maternity today - exciting stuff! Bought 4x nursing bras... Emma Jane Seamless (really comfy and only £9.99!), Carriwell Seamless (nearly identical to the Emma Jane, but pricier at £17.95) and Bravado ++ Original (Priciest, but still not breaking the bank at £22.99 and 95% cotton).

All are bras that stretch to accommodate changing boob sizes. I've had really bad rib pain (just below my boobs) over the last few months and wearing the Carriwell today was so much more comfy than my previous bras (Royce and Hot Milk - I'm now a 32ff).

Tempted to try the new Bravado Seamless too - but think should wait til baby comes in a few weeks...

Badgerwife · 05/01/2013 10:51

I second the Sophie bra by Panache. I practically live in them, and have done so for 18 months!

I would recommend getting measured at Bravissimo, they are fab.

tanyatanya · 09/01/2013 22:40

I have big baps (G cup) and bought the bravado sports style bras, they are really comfy, but pulling them over my head drove me mad as they often got twisted. So I bought old school nursing bras from mother are, which were fine, even if I look a bit lumpy now and again.

BinarySolo · 10/01/2013 08:34

I have been measured in both m&s (when not pregnant) and in mothercare (for nursing bra). Both times the measurements bore very little resemblance to the actual size if bra that fitted well. It's a guide, but you really need to try on. I want an underwired bra this time round as non wired is not the friend of the large chested!

CelineMcBean · 10/01/2013 08:54

Forget M&S unless you want badly fitting, nasty saggy bras. Definitely get fitted by a good independent. Alternatively you can measure yourself and then try on.

I have a variety of nursing bras including Hot Milk, Sophie by Panache and Bravado Bliss. All are so much better than the rubbish ones I had with my first baby that were too big round the back and too small on the cup and had no substance to support my F cup boobs.

I would also buy Freya nursing bras because I wear their range normally but I haven't been able to get hold of one in my size.

Nice nursing bras are expensive but worth it. You can save money by buying from the previous season's range and shopping around. At the time of purchase the Bravado were cheapest at NCT Shop, the Sophie came from Tesco (bought with Clubcard Exchange vouchers) and Hot Milk from Secret Sales. I have bought matching knickers from eBay and there seems to be a good range of new unworn maternity bras available there too.

learnermummy · 10/01/2013 13:15

another vote for anita nursing bras, you can get them at figleaves. So comfortable.

LimeLeafLizard · 10/01/2013 16:10

Another vote for Anita - best nursing bra I have ever bought, wish I'd found it with my first. I bought mine from Amazon.

Especially good if you have big boobs.

eagleray · 10/01/2013 17:40

I tried on some Anita bras in a local independent shop - I really liked the underwired one, but they didn't have it in my size in black. Problem was, it was clear that the bras are slightly different sizes depending on the colour too (I think the black one came up smaller than the beige) so have now ordered on Amazon and taken a bit of a guess on the sizing - fingers crossed it fits!

LimeLeafLizard · 10/01/2013 18:45

Yes it is the underwired one I like. I noticed on Amazon that they come in US cup sizes (the letters are different as they don't have DD / FF), so you have to make sure you understand the difference before ordering. Presumably if you are ordering D cup or smaller this doesn't matter though.

That is interesting about the colours coming up different in size - I have the black but was thinking of ordering a beige too!
