i agree with everything sweetheart says (she sounds v. knowledgeable!)
Spinach - i'm feeling as sick as a parrot too...it's hideous, never felt like this before. Just discovered white tea goes down quite well (difficulty is i reckon ms is different for everyone and what helps me might not help you). Also living on lots of little portions of marmite on toast. Only thing I can really enjoy at the moment. Also nuts - i haven't avoided them. It's bloody grim isn't it?

I find it does a little - I think the bubbles send the sugar straight to your bloodstream.

Nothing, but nothing worked for me. I was sick morning, noon and night. I ended up eating iced donuts as they tasted Ok on the way up as well as on the way down! Things did ease once I got to 13 weeks and I was still sick every morning, but less sick the rest of the time provided I ate regularly (regularly = almost non stop).

Ice cold Fanta Lemon was my emergency sickness drink - I used to empty the drinks machine at work of it!

When i had severe sickness for 2 weeks at the beginning of my pregnancy with Dd i went to the doctors & she told me "flat" coke was ment to work, also ginger but to be really honest nothing worked for me.

crisps! crisps! crisps! Was actually sick today after only feeling sick for 2 months & relief was huge! I'm on my 3rd pg & I'm afraid the only light relief I've ever found is sleep & crisps. Go to bed thinking "wow! 7 or 8 hours of not feeling sick!!"

Ginger beer is meant to be quite good too.

Coke always settles my tummy, morning sickness or hangover sickness.

coke definitely worked for me for morning sickness when i couldn't face anything else (and it is known to help with tummy upsets too). Obviously, it's unhealthy and you don't want to drink too much of it but when nothing else is going down, at least it replenishes some of the sugars you are losing.

I had pretty intense afternoon and evening sickness for about the first 16 weeks, and I finally realised that the things that worked for me were exactly the same things I used to crave when I had a hangover! As with every other aspect of pregnancy, I think everyone's different.

Personally I loved very cold and fizzy Coke (caffeine-free or diet sometimes, but I didn't drink enough to worry about caffeine or aspartame levels). Actually, cold fizzy water with anything in it eg fruit juice, ribena, lemon barley etc helped for me, as did icecream and frozen fruit lollies, and Haribo.

I had tried eating so many ginger-based products that I cannot stand the smell now as it just reminds me of being sick. As does the bath oil and the Clarins tonic oil I was using during that time. And I still can't bear the smell or taste of a roast dinner!

Pinchy xx

God yes - coke was a god send............but I agree that the same thigs that I want when hangover often did the trick. I found Maccy D milkshakes went down quite well, as did anything with salt in (crisps etc)

Ginger did bugger all for me though!

Yes, unfortunately for my teeth it did. It was pretty much the only thing I could stomach for quite some time, with lots of ice in.

Not an awful lot helped me through 16 weeks of constant nausea and sickness, but those things that gave me a little respite were coke (icy cold) and digestive biscuits. Ginger was a no-go, despite me loving it and eating copious amounts.

Another great tip that worked for me: if you feel/are sick when brushing your teeth in the morning, why not try brushing your teeth whilst standing up in the shower?

This saves you having to put your head over the basin to spit toothpaste out (an all too familiar position with morning/afternoon/all-day sickness). It doesn't matter whether toothpaste runs down your chin and you loook a right mess - coz you're in the shower! Found that this was an absolute god-send and made life a tiny bit more bearable first thing in the morning.

I have the utmost sympathy with anyone suffering - there's nothing quite like it.

LOL! i think the lemon wedge is specifically for people who salivate too much as it stops the problem. However, I do rather like lemon juice myself!

I've been sick the whole way through (to 39 weeks and counting). The only thing that stops it during the way (nothing works in the evening) is orange. Oranges, orange juice, orange fanta (which is apparently caffeine free) and sniffing oranges. I've even bought Jo Malone orange perfume. I'm sick every evening without fail and was getting the key whatsits in my test results. I just have three breakfasts and then stuff my face at lunch and 4pm. If I am sick in the evening, at least I know baby has eaten something! Seems to have done the job.

Slightly concerned baby will come out looking like an Oompa Loompa.
