what do you think? she is 3 and fascinated by the idea of a baby in my belly.

part of me thinks I shouldn't take her because there may be a problem - how likely is that exactly, does anyone know?

the other part of me thinks that she'll have to find out if there's a problem sooner or later and that there probably isn't one anyway.

we took dd1 when I had my 20 week scan - simply because dh met me at the hospital for the scan and we did not really have anyone we could leave her with. They did find something that could have been an issue ( turned out not to be) and it was handled very well by staff. She was fascinated watching the screen ( here in Aus you see the whole scan and can see exactly what is going on as you have a wall mounted screen that the scan is transmitted to.)

However - having dd1 there meant the sonographer realsied very quickly that dd1 had down syndrome and so she looked very closely for a heart defect and or markers of down syndrome - saved us having to share the story/info re dd1's scans.
