I'm 37 weeks pregnant now, every time the baby moves it either hurts or makes me want to wee or gives me heartburn.

I don't like it. Everyone keeps saying how lovely they found it and how they missed the movements when they gave birth, but I know I won't miss this. It's horrible, it hurtsSadAngry

Give it a poke back and tell it to behave!

colditz · 19/03/2006 14:21

He just rolls his bum at me, in obvious defiance, then does that funny little head shake that nearly explodes my bladder.

It'll slow down soon, there won't be enough room, not long to go, hang in there!

colditz · 19/03/2006 14:31

It could never slow down enough for me, I am a total wimp.

Think I might go and wimpishly lie on the sofaGrin

is it a big baby, i found that with ds2, from 30 weeks on, his kicks hurt

fastasleep · 19/03/2006 14:35

I wouldn't know I gave birth at 37 weeks, both times Grin

Oh god I'm evil.

spacecadet · 19/03/2006 14:36

colditz- i know what you mean, when i was preg with ds2, by the time i was 36 weeks i would wince of jump out of my skin every time he moved, he was a big baby so i knew about it!
take comfort in the fact that it wont be long before you hold your lo in your arms.

colditz · 19/03/2006 15:27

Har

He's been lulled to sleep by me doing housework.

That's why he kicks me so much, he hardly ever gets lulled....Grin

oh god i remember the kidney shots the little sods get in - and that thing where they stick a foot halfway up your ruddy ribcage!

i used to grab hold of my belly and give it a right good shake, yelling 'shift over you little sod'!!

colditz · 19/03/2006 15:36

This might be absurd, but it fells like he braces his feet against my lower spine, and pushes his bum out above my bellybutton. Like 'Alien', but breechGrin

And his head in my pelvis feels like a cork in a bottle. It grinds further down.

you need to go down the hospital and ask them to shove a tv up there, he is obviously bored.

just don't ask where they will stick the ariel!

Cadbury · 19/03/2006 15:39

not weird at all. dd used to do this - it hurts like hell and yopu have my sympathy. I hated the feet in the ribs the most. Don't miss that one little bit.

amber5 · 19/03/2006 16:15

Colditz, my 2 month old dd gave me heartburn every time she moved and she came out with a great big head-full of ginger hair!!! I used to prod her back when she was a bump and threaten to make up for all the kicks when she came out but I forgave her as soon as we met.

kid · 19/03/2006 16:19

I never liked it when DD moved, it felt weird. When I was having DS, I found it reassuring when he moved.

kid · 19/03/2006 16:23

amber5 - where abouts do you live (what area) as I'm trying to find someone in Chigwell and would be amazed if it was you!

amber5 · 19/03/2006 16:33

Barnsley - not chigwell. Is it a ginger baby you're looking for?

NomDePlume · 19/03/2006 16:34

I had a ginger baby girl and never suffered with heartburn or morning sickness, does that bugger up the theory ?!

kid · 19/03/2006 16:35

well its a ginger father to 2 children so possibly a ginger haired baby, the eldest of them is called Amber. (I'm looking for the mum not the father btw!)

crazydazy · 19/03/2006 16:36

I never liked it moving around either Colditz. I liked to know it was still okay but not the prodding, it just felt horrible. Never liked the whole pregnancy though from start to finish, my sister loved being pregnant but for me it was just a pain all the way through.

Was nice once I'd had the baby though Smile

bardot · 19/03/2006 16:43

I am 37 weeks and I am also hating the movements. They are so painful. I get this big bump under my ribs and at the same time sharp little pains down below and feel like if i dont go to the loo i will wet myself. Think he must be stretching. Birth cant come quick enough, I do sympathise, but we are on the last lap now.:)

nickyp08 · 20/03/2006 12:07

i can feel hand imprints when he has pushed down on the lowest point of my uterus inside my vagina.. and it makes me cringe.. ewwww.. some movements are nice but most of the time they are very uncomfy.. i just give him a little poke back and say 'utch over monkey' he lays mostly with his back to my right hand side which means a bum under my ribs and he causes my c-section scars to twinge too which isn't nice, it makes you jump.. infact most of the time his kicks are that strong they make me jump. i now use the time he is wriggling to talk to him, it distracts me from the discomfort ... but hey would rather he moved around than not at all

KathrynWales · 20/03/2006 18:31

My baby likes to kick my bladder/bum like a football which makes me twitch like a demented cuckoo... Driving is the worst... I bounce up and down along the motorway with every wince..must look like my car seat is a trampoline Grin

purpleturtle · 20/03/2006 18:50

I don't like the wiggling much either, and I've got another 22 weeks to go! had a wierd dream the other night that my skin was really elastic and the baby could stick whole identifiable limbs out. Yuk!

Eve2005 · 20/03/2006 19:11

my dd used to brace her legs against my back and push with all her strength, makes me wince to think of it. she also discovered the ribs i cracked a couple of years before preg and used to kick them so much her foot would get caught......... hated being preg too, wonder why i'm doing it again? Blush
