Anyone had a short 'period' type bleed and go on to get a bfp?

Driving myself crazy wondering if I could be pregnant..

I had a 'period' when 5 weeks pregnant with DS1. It was just as heavy and lasted four days, same as a normal period. I assumed I was just late, which wasn't unusual, so didn't realise I was pregnant until I missed the next one.

With DS2, I had 'periods' at the regular times all the way through, my consultant said probably due to my being on the pill - but that's another story!

Thanks for the reply! Yes, I'm chalking it up to hormonal weirdness. It's so strange though! My breasts are so sore it's hard to sleep, and nausea too. I've heard some women get those symptoms just with PMS or hormonal fluctuations though.

I'm having similar probs to some of you. Leading up to my period (for about a week) I had tummy and back cramps and nausea and dizziness. My period was 3days late, and when it finally came it wad of regular heaviness with tissue in it on day 1, followed by very light on day 2, a tiny amount of brown blood on day 3, nothing on day4 and a little pink blood on day 5. I usually have 2 heavy days and 4/5 light days. I've taken a home test and it was negative. I saw doc yesterday, and she did a test she said she thought she could see a faint positive. I asked to look, I couldn't see what she was seeing. She said she thought it was just the light shining on the test. She then gave me a pregnancy safe anti b to treat me for a possible urine infection which can cause similar symptoms. I have to go back in 1 week for blood test, which will test for various things including pregnancy. She asked if we were trying, we are not preventing and had unprotected on day 8 &9 of last cycle. I'm very confused, it'd be lovely if I was pregnant, but if not that's fine too. Dizziness and nausea are still causing me probs. I just want to know now! 😠

I don't know if anyone is still on this. I'm new to this! Sorry for butting in. I'v been actively trying for 2 years. No hope apart from suspected chemical pregnancy in September. Now this month I'v felt odd. Period came as normal (28 days cycle) on time. But only lasted 3 days. (Usually 5-7days) and then brown spotting on 4th day. However carried on having odd twinges and dull aches in lower abdomen which I felt more of today and have just started a light pink/brown bleed! 4 days after period ended. Only other symptoms are constantly thirsty. I need to go to the loo more but not so much that it's worrying and also always tired! Sleeping all evening and night and whenever I'm not working! Just wondered if anyone could help me so confused x

I don't know if this will be any help but...

I've had odd bleeds. First was a bloody discharge when wiped, second was about a week or so later when I thought my period was coming but it was light spotting for about an hour, then a week later I done 2 tests, both were positive and I had a gush of fluidy blood that day that panicked me. Still pregnant, no more bleeding.

Did you have a normal period before the light bleed though? I'v had a short but normal period and now cramping had a pink/brown bleed but was more like discharge! Now an hour later it's stopped but still odd cramps.. so confused I'm sick of thinking am I pregnant just want a month without stressing ha!

Sorry, no period. But I was bleeding just lighter than a period for about 2 days (the day I had the gush, sorry). My last period was in October and somehow didn't realise it was so long

I had cramping period type pains though that lasted about 3 days and they only stopped yesterday.

Ahh.. I might just be having a weird cycle then but might do a test on Monday if I'm still cramping! Who knows.. starting to lose hope when it comes to getting pregnant 😕 anyway congrats on your pregnancy and good luck! x

I had a bleed on day 24 but that was typical for me
I usually had a bleed on day 24 then my period would start proper on day 28 like clockwork
I tested on day 28 when my period didn't start properly. I got a faint positive
I had 2 further bleeds which would've been on day 24 but had a healthy baby

Yes, but no results until tomorrow afternoon. I had to see the doc again after anti b finished. This one said I possibly have inner ear infection, and gave me tablets that I started yesterday. But still dizzy and crampy!😠

I'm not pregnant ☹ blood test and urine test negative doc says I have labyrinthitis and an upper urinary tract infection. I've been taking stemetil for 5days and no improvement. I still have all the same symptoms that I had which made me think I was pregnant but now I alzk have sore breasts and headaches- not normal pms symotoms for me. Due period again in about a week, and had no sex since the time I thought I conceived as I've felt so unwell. I suppose I'll just have yo take the meds and hope symptoms improve. We weren't trying, but as I've only had these symptoms whilst pregnant previously, I do feel a little disappointed. At least we now know we want another. 🍀 to you all who are ttc or are pregnant. ❤

Can anyone help. I'm so confused. I had unprotected sex on Jan 4, 8 that was the week of my ovulation. My period was due Jan 19 or 20th, I had a day of spotting a week before it was due but very light only when I wiped. My period came 4days later or so I think it was my period but it only lasted over the weekend. Kind of heavy the first day got lighter the second day and then a few little spots yesterday. Today there is absolutely nothing. It usually lasts at least 5 days and is always on time within a 27,28 day cycle. I have 3 children already but have never experienced any bleeding like this. Is it possible I'm pregnant? I'm really confused at this point

Hi everyone im in a similar situation to a lady higher on this post.

I came on my "period" 2 weeks ago with the normal build up, bad cramps (which is normal for me) but it was little darker in colour (not the usual colour), lighter (usually heavy) and lasted 2 days (normally 5-7 days. I stopped bleeding, day 3 no blood, But then on day 4 started spotting pinky red (but not bright red if this makes sence). Spotted for 3 days. Which would take it to my average 5day bleeding time. This hasnt happened before. Ive spotted in my previous 2 pregnancies but never bled then stopped then spotted.

On thursday night i started with a sore throat befor ei went to bed. I got up yesturday morning feeling so tired, sick, worse sore throat, dizzy and massive migraine that painkillers got rid of for about half hour which all lasted the whole day resulting in me laying on sofa all day and could eat anything and smell of quavers made me feel so sick (i love quavers) and turned down chocolate! Went to bed feeling sick and dizzy. This morning i had to go to work, feeling dizzy, bit sick still light headed and had to lean on stuff at work to keep me upright. But no migraine (thank goodnes!) But still very tired.

With all that being said i know that half (if not all) of these are also ovulation symptoms and i am spose to ovulate today, but i took a cheap test (cant afford clear blue at min) and very strong single pink negative line. Not even a faint positive. But i only did it an hour ago. Using the second one in the morning as you should just in case.

Has anyone else had this happen to them. If so did it turn out to be pregnancy? Or just a dodgy period and dodgy ovulation?

Hey there I was wondering if anyone found out if they were pregant and had these short periods.

I've felt pregant for a while now with symptoms but all my tests come back negative. I've had a 2 short periods the 1st 3 days early and lasted 3 days and the 2nd lasted 2. I'm very regular and I've been using the glow app to keep record of all activities in the bed room and ovulation. I've been trying now for 2 years. And from some stories I've heard women being pregant with bleeding and negative tests but waited for 12 weeks mark to get postive tests or a scan to confirm it. I think I'm 9 weeks. But I figured I'm going to wait till my next period to see if it's just as short. To test again by then I hope to get a postive. I wanna put all the thoughts to one side but I'm also scared if I am pregant am I taking care enough of myself. Any advice would be awesome. Thanks x

Arch I'm confused! My period this month was due may 9th I got it may 7th it was only 3 days the first day was bright red blood with a few clots and cramping the second day no cramps and a pink discharge the last day a brownish discharge when I wiped since the end of that short period my boobs hurt and feel way bigger my boobs never hurt and my periods are never short I decided to test yesterday and got a negative:( could I still be pregnant please help!!!!!!

Well here's what happened
I had what I thought was my period two days earlier then what my calendar has told me . It was spotting on and off from orange-red to light pink. It lasted roughly 5 and a half days . I recently stopped spotting yesterday and took a first response test this morning but it came back Negative..
Is there any way I'm still pregnant? Or was I just having a really weird period?

I was wondering if any of you guys ever had a positive pregnancy test after having a negative one?
See what I thought was my AF came a couple days earlier . It lasted on and off 5 and a half days but was extremely light and looked like spotting . It went from an orangeyred color to a light pinkish color . The bleeding stopped yesterday so I took a first response test this morning and it came out Negative . Is there any way I could still be pregnant?

Hallo everyoneold post but js incase someone follows. Had a super light dark period/spotting for 2 days a week before my period was due. Today am 20dpo and stil bfn. Am having all other symptoms of preg except sore breasts. Any1 experienced this?

No I haven't instead I've been getting this water discharge . My boobs are starting to hurt and I'm very emotional . I did a test this morning but still came up negative idk what to do . I just really want to know what's going on
