What was your weight when born and do you think this is/was an indication of the weight of your baby?

As above really - been thinking about this recently as I'm scared that I'll give birth to a 10lb+ baby (and it'll hurt!) as I want to have a natural birth as possible - with the help of hypnobirthing!
Also do you think your weight when you were born has ANY relation to your size as an adult (mainly height) - just wondering with this question.

A few examples
A work colleague weighed around 8lb (she's 5'3" now) and her DS was 9lb 9oz

My sister was 6lb 2oz (5'6" now) and has a DD - 6lb 12oz and a DS - 6lb 15oz

My great aunt weighed 12lb () and she's always been small - about 5' now (not sure how heavy her DS was - dread to think if my theory is true!)

I've spoken to other people and it seems that their DCs have not weighed that much more than they did when they were born.

I'm wondering if this gives any indication that I may have a baby that's not too big/small as I was 5lb 12oz (and I'm 5'8" now)

I hope this all makes sense - I'm not very good with putting my thoughts down on paper!!

I was 7lb 2oz and ds1 8lb 3oz and ds2 8lb exactly.

I was 7lbs 13oz and 10days overdue.

DS was 8lbs 3oz and born on his due date.

I was 10lb 2 oz, am 5'9 now. My dh was also 10lb and I was really worried my daughters would be well over 10lbs. They were both 7lb 14oz so my fears were groundless!

I was 8lbs 1oz 2 weeks early

Dd was 9lbs 11oz 6 days over
Ds1 was 8lbs 13 oz 6 days early
Ds2 was 8lbs 3oz 6 days early

We were all pretty close in weight, I've always thought there was a family link in baby weights.

I was 8lbs6, my DD was 7lbs10, my DS 9lbs12.

I was 5llb 2oz I am a twin though, my twin was 6llb 1oz, my dd was 6llb 12oz.

I was 6lbs 10 (born at 36 weeks); dd was also 6lbs 10 (at 39 weeks). We were also the exact same length. So I guess that both proves and disproves the theory - whilst we were the same size I was 3 weeks earlier...

(currently 37 weeks with dd2...I'm estimating that she'll be slightly bigger from my size now compared to with dd, my younger sister was slightly heavier than me, also a 36 weeker )

I was 7lb 14oz (5 days overdue) and DS was 9lb 2oz (13 days overdue).

DB was exactly 1lb heavier than me - not hoping to emulate that with this DC!

I was 6lb 2oz born 3 weeks early.

DP was 3lb 1oz born prem at 30 weeks.

Our DS was 8lb 1oz born at 41+2 weeks.

So while everyone held their breath once I reached 35 weeks assuming I would have him early and at a low weight, the reality was very different.

So no, mine and DP's birth weight was no where near DS'

I was 8lb 4oz as were both DD and DS - no idea what the odds are on that.

I'm 5' 10" now. DD is one of the tallest girls in her class at the moment and although DS was one of the tallest at the start of Reception he is now, at the end of Yr1, one of the shortest - would probably get bigger if he actually ate something

I was 10lb 9oz, 10 days late.

DS 10lb 5oz, born on due date.

Dd and I were exactly the same weight and both four days late. Spooky.

Should have said - 6.11 each. Im 5'2.

Thanks for all your replies - this has totally blown my theory out of the water and I could still have a 10lb-er lol!

Although shattereddreams has thrown another question into the mix - does your birth indicate how your baby's birth will be ie if your mum had an easy birth with you, then will you have an easy birth and vice versa!?!

My Dmum had a sneezebirth. I had intervention, drugs, epi, forceps etc.

I was 7lb 11oz, 1 day late and almost forceps but I popped out at the last minute.

DD 7lb 10oz, 5 days late ? ventouse.
DS 7lb 10oz, 1 day late ? out on his own.

Should have said that DH was over 9lb so I'm glad they took after me!

I was 7lb 3oz and DD was exactly 7lb 3 oz, however she was 2 weeks early (induced due to pre eclampsia) and I was only 3 days early so if she had got to cook longer she might have been a bruiser!!

I was 6lb 6oz and am 5ft 8", DH was 6lb 5oz and is 6ft and DS was 6lb 5oz (born at 38 weeks).

My siblings and I were all relatively small, my mum was 5lb and is now 5ft 5" and my dad was about 9lb 9oz and was 6ft from the age of 13. His side of the family were all tall and heavy babies so my mum got off quite easily.

DNiece was 5lb 13oz and was born at 37 weeks and my sister is 5ft 10". Apparently we just have small babies.

I had slightly larger bmi than I do now so I don't believe that 'bigger' mums naturally have big babies.

I was 7lb 8oz ish when born and am now 5' 3.5"

DD1 was born 34.0 weeks weighing 3lb 1.5oz (pre-eclampsia)
DD2 was born 41.0 weeks weighing 7lb 3oz
DD3 was born 41.0 weeks weighing 8lb 12.5oz
