Ahh, congratulations, and welcome! My dd (now nearly 3) was Dot, and this one (7+2) is named Tiddler!

Does yours have a name yet?

ThreeWheelsGood · 04/08/2012 07:32

'Junior' or 'Baby (surname initial)'

MissPollysTrolleyed · 04/08/2012 07:36

Barry. We don't know what the sex is and definitely won't be calling a boy baby Barry but Barry the Bump works as a bump name for us Smile. Bit worried it might stick though as our DS's bump name was Beel. He's now 2 and we still affectionately call him Beel all the time.

Brownegg · 04/08/2012 07:44

We called my bump Archemedes. I have no idea why now but it was Archemedes all the way through to the extent that we thought we might have trouble using the real ame after the baby was born. But we didn't. Archemedes was forgotten easily straight away.

Haven't got a bump yet, but I've been referring to it as pickle (had quite a lot of wine around the time but didn't know I was pregnant!)

scentednappyhag · 04/08/2012 07:48

DD (21 months) was Splodge, still is occasionally Grin

BassAce · 04/08/2012 07:50

My DS1 was called "Bumplestiltskin" after the rumplestitlskin fairy tale where everyone is trying to guess his name. After a few months of pregnancy it became shortened to "bumples", and I think for about the first year of his life he was still called Bumples by various members of the family!
Am sure he will be a strapping lad of 18 and we'll still use it as a family nickname!!

Pascha · 04/08/2012 07:59

First one was Weeble, this one is Widget.

Missingpate · 04/08/2012 08:07

We call it Stewie because of family guy, don't know sex. Really stuck on our names list too and hoping bump name won't stick!

Nightfall1983 · 04/08/2012 08:49

My 37 week bump has been "Bertie" since before we started TTC. We don't know the sex but tend to say "he" because Bertie is a masculine name, this is fine and we are happy with either a boy or a girl but has confused family and friends!! Lots of them think that we know it's a boy but just aren't telling...

We briefly considered calling baby Bertie if he's a boy, Albert is a lovely name but have chosen otherwise...

Mu51cal · 04/08/2012 09:06

Lol! Some great "names" there!! Smile I think we're going to call ours Beanie! So much to take in right now...certainly hasn't sunk in that I'm pregnant yet cos nobody knows yet! x x

Mine is "The Duck", after our second scan, when DP cheerfully commented "oh, it looks like a duck!".

This was whilst the doctor had dildo-cam fully inserted, and I have to say that laughing at this point was quite painful....

Brugmansia · 04/08/2012 09:09

Ours is zeus.

Pascha · 04/08/2012 09:18

The reasoning behind Weeble was because he was breech, he would wobble sometimes to transverse and back again but never quite fall down. He had to be turned manually in the end Hmm

Today he's cheerfully harassing the pussycats in the living room with marmitey fingers Smile

BikeRaceRunningRaceNoSkiing · 04/08/2012 09:26

Dc1 was Mini Cooper
Dc2 was The Works (as in Mini Cooper works edition, more zoomy version of the original).

Can you guess what our surname is
? And the car we used to drive?

geekette · 04/08/2012 09:43

Have been through a few references for the bump:
The default is baby. Then bulge, protrusion, babe.

BabyWitch · 04/08/2012 09:53

Dragon - my husband and I both have Welsh roots. Plus, at the early scan the foetus still had a tail. So it seemed fitting.

I'm seven months and we still haven't decided on a RL name for when the baby arrives, and everytime we try and discuss it we can only think of names we wouldn't choose. So in conversation now we use whichever name we've recently decided we definitely wouldn't choose. At the moment it's Reginald. (We don't know the sex, so everyone excitedly jumps on this 'Oh, so it's a boy!'. We have to insert 'Or Regina for a girl. Either way, Reggie.')

KnackeredCow · 04/08/2012 09:57

Cupcake and Muffin. Came about because I said to DH "it's really exciting we've finally got a bun in the oven" (took 3 cycles of IVF). I'd been at a charity garden party and had come home with a box of cupcakes. DH then said "a cupcake in the oven". I added, "but what if it's twins?". We had 2 embryos put back and 1 was hatching at the time so looked much larger than the other. DH then said we'd have to call the larger one muffin!

And, it is twins Smile

I'm only 8+3 but my mum has already nicknamed it Bean, which unfortunately my hubby has decided to pick up aswell. I don't particularly like it, and think I am going to throw a spanner in the works and call it Flump. I like that name, it's cute and makes me think of marshmallows Grin

Pudz808 · 04/08/2012 10:49

Hello, I'm new to this so clumsily fumbling my way around.
It's lovely to hear other couples naming their bumps...makes me feel more normal..lol.
Me and my husband call each other 'weets' short for sweetheart....so our 31 week bump has been lovingly called 'weetlet'.
We are having a girl and her name will be Daisy...so she is also known as Daisy-wriggle-bump because she has become very active over the last 10 weeks.
Nice to join in your chat. Xxxx

BuntyCollocks · 04/08/2012 11:45

Dc1 was skittle. DC2 is cupcake.

iklboo · 04/08/2012 11:50

DS was Bumplestiltskin.

stargirl1701 · 04/08/2012 11:52

Congrats! We named our bump Bunty Grin

elvislives2012 · 04/08/2012 12:33

Tony!! Unisex! My sister picked it

Wheels79 · 04/08/2012 13:19

Peanut. Due to its size when we started calling it that. It's more like a twiglet now but Peanut remains.
