No fetal pole at 5+4 or 5+5

Hi have had 2 very early miscarriages within last year. Asked for early scan for reassurance, felt it was too early today but when anyway as no contact number to change appointment. No fetal pole, going back next Friday and know this is going to be a long long week. Anyone had something similar with a nice heartbeat at next scan?

I found out I was pregnant on the 6th May. I calculated I would be 7 weeks pregnant going off conception as I couldn't remember when my LMP was.

On Tuesday 8th I began to get cramps so having had a previous ectopic I went to the EPU at 2am.

They gave me a blood test and an internal and told me to return the next day for a scan. Went to scan no heartbeat, just sac which was in the right place but only the size of 5 week sac. We were heartbroken, they couldn't do anymore and said I could have got my dates wrong - I KNEW I hadn't.

Anyway, I had to wait 2 weeks (which were hell) for another scan. We prepared ourselves for confirmation of a MMC and yet there it was heartbeat pumping away! The dates don't work at all, they estimate the baby is 7 weeks 5 days, so I figure he/she must just be lazy like their father!

I loved reading positive stories in my two weeks of limbo so I thought I would share mine with you both.

cosy tory's story sounds similar to yours.

Been stressing cos symptoms not as bad but still there! Trying to be positive and feels so nervous again about tomorrow.

Lots of people get spotting, and means nothing. Sure it will be lovely news tomorrow.

Yep scan at 5 weeks and no fetal pole. Product is 10mo and asleep on me right now!

Ahhh cosy, so kind of you to ask as this must be such a hard time for you. Yes all fine, just wish it had been for both of us.

So are you having to go into to hospital? What choices have they given you?

In aug and oct had mc, and was heart broken but believe that our bodies are amazing and know when things aren't right with a baby. Still doesn't make it any easier I know.

You take care, and make sure you have time to yourself, I never took time off work and I should have. You need to rest.

missed miscarriage at 5 weeks. awaiting final confirmation scan on 11th then start options.
I agree I think it's for a reason and my body knows best, just can't get my head around things at moment.
I am looking after myself and after my last shift tonight I finished for two weeks at work. Hope you enjoy your time being pregnant esp after your past experience.
