Hi have had 2 very early miscarriages within last year. Asked for early scan for reassurance, felt it was too early today but when anyway as no contact number to change appointment. No fetal pole, going back next Friday and know this is going to be a long long week. Anyone had something similar with a nice heartbeat at next scan?

Hi, Lots of folk will come and tell you that they had a nice healthy heartbeat, so hang on.

Unfortunately, i have not, but was always very reassured by folk on mn.

Fingers crossed and all the best x

blackteaplease · 11/05/2012 12:11

I had an early scan at 5 weeks after 2 miscarriages and they could only see the egg sac, no fetal pole. Went back 10 days later to see heartbeat.

I am now 21 weeks and all is well.

Fingers crossed x

missymooboo I'm in the same position, went on tuesday at 6+1 no fetal pole so i'm going back in on 18th when I will be 7+3.
The lady who done the scan (can't spell her job title lol) said everything looked ok but it was fairly common at such an early date not to see the fetal pole but later on see it.
I know how worrying it is though.

HaggisNeepsTatties · 11/05/2012 12:47

I had a scan at 6 weeks with no fetal pole (but they don'te expect to see it so early) and went back for one at 8 weeks and could see it very clearly. I'm now 18 weeks and all going well.

Good luck

confuzed90 · 11/05/2012 13:54

I had a scan at 5 weeks 5 days, no heartbeat, another at 7 weeks confirmed HB, I am now holding my 13 day old baby as I write this.
Good luck for your scan and your pregnancy
Xx

My friend had no hb at 6 weeks exactly, and it was ivf so she knew for sure dates were correct, her dd is nearly 3...

cosysocks · 11/05/2012 21:27

I know just noticed we will both be getting our next scan on 18th. Lots of stories with people saying same thing with healthy babies in their arms.
At least we will know this time next week. xx

missymooboo · 12/05/2012 08:24

What times your appointment cosy? Mines 1.40pm. Going out with friends for day with kids today and just want to hide from world, going to be so hard trying to act normal! Feel really sick today too x

Mines at 11.15am. Had awful dreams last night an have terrible stich type pain today. Dh is being super supportive but just trying to think about the pregnancy is difficult. Ds out with beavers all day so were off shopping, hoping to try and take my mind off it.
I know the feeling of wanting to stay an hide but do you think you might feel better if you do get out and about at least just for awhile today? Take ginger with you xxx

rosieposey · 12/05/2012 11:55

I just wanted to say I had a scan at 5 weeks and 4 days and there was nothing in the sac at all. Went back 4 days after that and there was a yolk sac and tiny fetal pole. I went for another scan at bang on 7 weeks (this weds just gone) and there was a heartbeat and it was measuring 7 weeks.

Some babies take longer to implant and get going, i didn't believe this till I saw it with my own eyes as ds had a visible heartbeat at 5 weeks 5 days but it's all looking good now. Fingers crossed for you all - I think it will be fine.

cosysocks · 12/05/2012 14:13

missy - hoping you've had good news today?

cosysocks · 18/05/2012 20:51

Well its sort of good news. Definitely a fetal pole there but no heartbeat. Sat down with midwife and went through dates and using scan have dated me as being 5+3 only and not the 7 weeks that other professionals have put me at.
Slightly confused over dates... But reassured that pregnancy developing at correct rate so heartbeat will hopefully be seen next scan on 28th.

cosysocks · 18/05/2012 20:52

Fab news missy bet you were so relieved x

missymooboo · 19/05/2012 11:13

Cosy I'm sure by 28th there will be a lovely heart beat, easy to get dates wrong.

By my dates I should be 7 weeks today or tomorrow but little bean was only measuring 6! They weren't worried and just for my reassurance going back on 28th too.

It's really positive there is a fetal pole so be positive.

Bunty thanks for looking in on thread, so glad your scan was fine. Will drop in to other thread later today, had quick look and loads of posts so going to wait til kids are in bed so can settle down and have a good catch up

Xxxxxx

Hi cosy, good luck for Monday, bet you can't wait. Bet all will be fine. I've become a lunatic with worry as symptoms less now, phoned to try and get earlier appointment but none available. Symptoms bit stronger today again so fingers crossed. Will be thinking of you Monday. What times yours? Mines 11 o clock. Stopped looking at other thread cos some sad news for some on there, really feel for them. Will keep checking this thread for your news though, sure all will be fine x x

Hi Missy, I am going in at 9am, just bit worried as I've had bit of spotting this week. Spoke to my midwife and she was reassuring... I'm currently on my second missed period (does that make sense) and all the blood is brown (TMI).
I went through my dates again with midwife and it makes sense, would seem that conception happened quite a few days after doing the deed. Which would make me the date they said. Just a bit weird going from thinking I was coming up 7 weeks to be told I was 5+3 feels like I've gone back loads in my mind.
What symptoms have you been getting? I have noticed mine have lessened but I don't know if thats because I've got used to them. Mind my belly seems huge which is a strange feeling as im so early and not yet certain.
Hope your scan goes well. x
