Not feeling sick!

Here is a panicky drama queen - at 6 weeks (ultra early, I know!), sore-ish boobs for the past two weeks. Have prepared for sickness - stocked up on crackers, white toastie, bananas. But nothing, not a hint. Worried, as with my last pregnancy, ended m/c :( i couldn't stop throwing up. Is it OK not to feel sick? Am I just tempting my fate?

the only time I felt sick was when i was brushing my teeth - always made me retch. Apart from that I was fine. Was the same in both pregnancies.

Bunbaker · 04/04/2012 08:49

I never felt sick when pregnant with DD. Some women just don't. I hope you have a successful pregnancy this time.

DialMforMummy · 04/04/2012 08:55

Never felt sick with DS1. Felt occasionally sick DS2. The rule is: there are no rules!
Best of luck!

SunnyPie · 04/04/2012 08:56

Oh, thank you so much for reassurance. I remember last time sickness came on very suddenly, can even remember my last meal before weeks of toast with butter and honey. Have stocked up on honey, too :) Anyway, now that I've posted this, I bet I'll be hugging that loo before long, serves me right, too. :)

I was the opposite, my first two pregnancies I wasn't sick at all! Then 3rd pregnancy I was sick and ended in MC. Now currently pregnant, sick again and have stressed constantly that it will end in MC - nearly 12 weeks now and scan next week so hoping I can relax after that. Think we all stress about one thing or another - it is normal, and more so if we have suffered a loss. Good luck!

SunnyPie · 04/04/2012 09:34

Hi ticklebug74, you're so right, I'm stressing too much. Blame it on the hormones. Thank you for reassurance though, it's so nice to talk to other mums... x x

I was felt sick sometimes but never actually threw up at all. Not everyone get ms i guess

mummy2benji · 04/04/2012 15:57

Agree that we all can't help stressing! Every pregnancy is different - even if you experienced certain symptoms in a previous pregnancy it doesn't mean you'll get them with another. I didn't start with nausea until over 7 weeks this time round. And sore boobs are also a symptom of pregnancy, so that is a reassuring sign too. x

LIG1979 · 04/04/2012 16:06

I felt very sick all day and night from 5.5 weeks to 7.5 weeks but then after that it was intermittent and I would often get a couple of days of feeling normal again. Having had an mmc with no nausea at all last year, each time I felt better instead of enjoying the relapse from nausea I stressed and starting booking private scans. My sickness was much better by 10 weeks and gone completely by 12. I am now 22 weeks and all is well.

SunnyPie · 06/04/2012 11:55

LIG1979 - congrats for 22 weeks, have you started to relax a bit or not yet? I said to the MW yesterday that I surely won't stop worrying until at least week 40, and she just laughed. Still, climbing the walls keeps one fit at least.
Mummy2benji - definitely got a nice pair of those! ouch! Good luck everyone, and Happy Easter :)

With DD, I felt rubbish - sick and exhausted - from pretty much Day One (green tea made me boak a week before AF due. I knew then.) for the whole of the first trimester. Was grim.
Am also 6 weeks now, and feel generally fine. Tired sometimes, the odd wave of nausea. All v odd and am also trying not to panic!

DonnaDoon · 07/04/2012 14:10

LIG79 Im so glad you posted that cus Im 10 wks and symptoms have eased off and Im panicking so thanks

YoullLaughAboutItOneDay · 07/04/2012 14:13

I've had two successful pregnancies with barely a hint of nausea (literally, one slight moment at a fried breakfast with DD1) and one that ended in miscarriage where I had some nausea, but no vomiting.

It doesn't happen to everyone, and it doesn't happen every pregnancy. I am convinced that that 'sign of a strong pregnancy' thing is a fairytale to make sick women feel better, but it just makes the lucky ones who aren't sick panic!

mattysmum09 · 08/04/2012 09:31

so glad to find this thread as I was worried about lack of symptoms having just had positive test I've had in past lots of sickness which suddenly stopped and was mc then I had healthy pregnancy and paniced when the sickness stopped even though all was fine, then I've had one where it never even started and that was early mc. How early can i go to early pregnancy unit for scan for reasurance?

izzybizzybuzzybees · 08/04/2012 15:26

I have had no sickness either this time. I am worried but i am a miscarriage risk as i have a clot in my womb alongside the baby and was in fact told i had miscarried for a scan a week later to find a heartbeat. I guess some peple just have no sickness?

milk · 08/04/2012 15:55

My cousins sister-in-law is 8 months pregnant, and she has not felt sick at all during the pregnancy.

EggsMichelle · 08/04/2012 18:03

I'm also 6wks with no sickness and panicking, pure sillyness! we should feel blessed that we are not being sick but instead beg for the sickness to come on!!!

fotheringhay · 08/04/2012 19:09

I had no nausea with ds, and he's the world's most perfect baby. (That should be enough to make you puke Grin )

CODwidow · 08/04/2012 20:14

I'm also worried as no sickness :(

SpottyTeapot · 08/04/2012 20:50

I haven't had any sickness and I am around six weeks. I have had one or two smells that made me feel a bit dodgy but nothing else has happened yet. Fingers crossed for the next few weeks that it doesn't come with a vengence!

mattysmum09 · 09/04/2012 10:42

I think actually sometimes symptoms like sickness (if at all) may start around 6 weeks and i actually felt unusually exhausted yesterday dispite our 14month old sleeping well the night before so maybe mild symptoms are starting ! a little sickness for reasurance but not debilatating like last time would be ideal !:)

So sorry to hear about your blood clot prob izzybizzy must be yet another worry for you :( did you already know about the clot before pregnancy or is that when you found out?

Whirliwig72 · 09/04/2012 10:59

Hmmm at 6 weeks id say it's still early my sickness did not kick in with my 2 boys till 8 weeks then it was full on ESP with ds2. Just to balance tho I have miscarried twice and sickness was noticeably absent. Every pregnancy is different tho. Why dont you try one of those clear blue tests that tell you how far along you are? They only go to 3 + weeks past conception but a on target result would reassure you Smile. All the best.

friedfrog · 09/04/2012 13:56

I'm 29 weeks and never felt sick. I worried to, as I wanted more symptoms. Looking back I feel really lucky that I didn't.

Try not to worry

Frog :)
