Just what it says really.

My mum was absolutely sure I was a boy, and then I wasn't (obviously).

OTOH I am pretty sure this is a girl. Only 12 weeks so can't be sure either way even with a scan, but that's my strong feeling.

What about you? Did you "know" and then have your feeling confirmed? Or the opposite?

I was sure DS was a boy, and I was even more sure DD was a girl.

I was convinced all 3 DCs were boys (and am convinced with my current pg). I have 3 DDs.....not so sure my powers of prediction are any good!

I have an ongoing personal experiment on this issue. If a labouring woman doesn't know what she's having, I often ask if she has a gut feeling. IME the mothers are almost always right. It's truly fascinating.

I have known with all 3. I don't know why I knew with DS1. But with DS2 the pregnancy was almost identical to DS1 and with DD it has been completely different. Just need to wait and see if scan was right.

With DD, we were fairly sure she was a girl all along - DH even began telling and spelling the girl name to the midwife before we even checked if she was a girl or not when she was born! Also, at one of my last antenatal appointments, an old lady said to me, as I got off the bus "How's that little girl in there doing?" which was sort of nice-spooky!

With DS, I didn't know. We were hoping for a boy, the sonographer said boy but we were not sure until we saw him!

SneakyBiscuitEater · 15/03/2012 18:42

I was convinced my 3 were all boys - I was only right once.

WinkyWinkola · 15/03/2012 18:44

And did anyone's gut feeling conflict with the sonographer's conclusion? Who was right?

AsCorruptAsWhisky · 15/03/2012 18:53

With everyone of our 4 dcs, I thought they were boys. We have four daughters. But, in my defence, I was only pregnant with two and it's probably a lot harder to guess other people's bumps.

I guessed boy and we're having a boy - yay! :)
