I'm currently 21 weeks pregnant with DC1 and my nipples have been coming increasly uncomfortable and itchy to point I just want to rub them all the time. Is there any creams I can use?

Lasinoh.

Buy it of amazon. Expensive but genius

openerofjars · 01/01/2012 19:29

Lansinoh was fab post-birth and for bfing, I remember, as well as being great on chapped hands and feet.

stripygiraffe · 01/01/2012 19:30

Buy Lansinoh. It is expensive but all other treatments are a waste of money. It's great for chapped lips too Blush

StandingAlone · 01/01/2012 19:30

Lansinoh, also very good for chapped lips. I still use it 2 and a half years after finishing BF for my lips and if my hand gets very chapped as openerofjars say's.

greenmoo · 01/01/2012 19:31

Kamillosan. Great for breastfeeding too, as can be ingested by baby and doesn't have to be washed off before feeds, and for nappy rash!

GlitterKitty · 01/01/2012 19:31

Lanisoh! Lasts ages, worth every penny Grin

Tinkerisdead · 01/01/2012 19:33

Lansinoh all the way. Miracle cream. You dont have to wipe it off to feed either. I put it on after every feed and never had cracked nipples. I now use it on dry patches on dd's face.

MummyAbroad · 01/01/2012 19:36

Another vote for Lansinoh, rub it between your fingers to make it warm before you put it on, it spreads on a bit easier that way. Agree that it lasts ages, when you dont need it as nipple cream anymore its great as a lip balm or for cracked heels Smile

Conflugenglugen · 01/01/2012 19:37

Lansinoh.

ZhenThereWereTwo · 01/01/2012 19:40

Lansinoh and Avent both good for different things. Lansinoh helps with conditioning/moisturising and stops the cracking, but the Avent is cooling and soothing. When mine were sore I would put on Avent first and let it soak in, then applied Lansinoh to moisturise.

GlitterKitty · 01/01/2012 19:40

Oh, and the Lanisoh breast pads are brilliant as well.

horseynewmum · 01/01/2012 19:50

thank you guys. like the idea you can use it for chapped lips to as mine are awful at the moment

Kamillosan. Not trying to be different, just swear by it Smile

puzzletree · 01/01/2012 21:55

Lansinoh! A little goes a long way, worth the money.

griphook · 01/01/2012 21:58

nipple itch used to drive me insane, would spend ages trying to itch them while noone noticed. Try eurax you can get it off the shelve in boots, save to use in preg as initlly prescribed by doc for itching all over

musicalmrs · 01/01/2012 22:50

Sorry to jump on horseynewmum's thread, but has anyone got any recommendations other than Lansinoh or Kamillosan?

I know they're supposed to be amazing, but they also contain lanolin, to which I'm very allergic!

BarfAndHeave · 01/01/2012 22:54

Lansinoh kept me breastfeeding and repaired my sore nips like nothing else and a million times better than Camillosan.

Sorry, musicalmrs, can't recommend anything else as nothing else I tried worked.

Dalrymps · 01/01/2012 22:57

With regards to Kamillosan, has anyone ever tasted it? I have, it's awful! I wouldn't use it then breastfeed even if it can be safely infested.

Lansinoh all the way!

Tinkerisdead · 01/01/2012 23:02

Music im allergic to lanolin but i dont react to lansinoh i swear. Theres info about lanolin allergy on the lansinoh website but i cant remember what it says. And i've tasted kamillosan. Bleugh camomile.

Spagbolagain · 01/01/2012 23:03

Lansinoh, although pricey, I only needed 1tube for the 13months I bf for. Have invested in a new one for imminent DC2.

musicalmrs There is some stuff on the Lansinoh website about allergy and they say that the allergens have been removed

www.lansinoh.com/products/hpa-lanolin

They say they are not aware of the product ever having caused a reaction and suggest doing a patch test on your forearm. Might be worth a go if you want to try it? If you can use it, it is wonderful stuff!!

Dalrymps · 01/01/2012 23:06

ingested!

musicalmrs · 01/01/2012 23:12

Oo, Spagbolagain and TheDoctorsWife46, thank you! I didn't know that... but I'll definitely give it a patch test. Problem is I don't want to shell out for it in case I do have a reaction, so I'll have to try and find a friend with some.. :)

Dalrymps · 01/01/2012 23:50

If you just want to test Lansinoh you could just buy these from eBay Smile
