Anyone buying their DH something to mark the birth of their baby?

I'd like to buy DH something, but I can't think what. And, yes, I know that carrying his baby for 9 months and, hopefully, having a healthy baby is the important bit, but I'd still like to give him something to mark the milestone of his first child - something that he can look at in years to come and remind of the day we had a baby together.

I gave him a watch when we got married; he's got a really nice pen already; and doesn't have a job which involves wearing smart shirts, so not much point in giving cufflinks. Any ideas?

I should add, she's a very cheap doula lol! We'll be her 3rd birth (excluding her own 2 dc of course!) but judging by the dealings I've had with the consultants and the attitudes I've had to deal with, it's going to be no bad thing for him to have a sounding board. I'll be hypnobirthing so he's really going to have to deal with them on his own and he hates confrontation. Was told I could die by the consultant on Monday, lovely woman ;)

pruney - what a helpful consultant you have, did she warn you about crossing the road at the same time. I tried hypnobirthing too, did well for first 12 or so hours but then tried gas & air and couldn't keep the old saliva on the tongue, will definitely free you up to concentrate. Good luck for the 21st Dec, or thereabouts. Wow it really is a Xmas present. I've only just realised the dates, must be in denial that Christmas is coming, more presents to get and better get cracking on my knitted laurel wreath.

Nope.

I'm the one who's carting this baby round for 10 months, I'm the one who is going to end up with the restyled undercarriage afterwards, ergo if there are presents to be received, I will be the one receiving them.

I don't know why but I love the term 'undercarriage', always makes me laugh. For some reason (put on the spot by a demanding toddler and blurted out first thing that came to mind - read in the MN toddlers book) DD has ended up calling it fou fou. A term I'd never used in my life before.

Anywho I digress and should really be working.

Undercarriage sounds Salubrious I think. I also like Fou Fou and when you are in company you can always pretend Fou Fou is the name of the puppy DD would like.
