Can I join I need a good moanBlush. only 37 weeks this week but spent most of lastnight on labour ward as having been having strong BH for a week and they thought baby was breech. Good news is that it's not and is engaged, unusual as this is my 3rd and others didn't engage till labour bad news the strong uncomfortable BH hardly even measured on the ctg c

brianmayshair · 08/11/2011 10:51

Stupid phone; compared to proper contractions so it's made me loose my nerve about my home birth. I can't believe I could have potentially 5 weeks of this. I am now massively fat and don't really want to go out.

My plan today is to bake (that will help the fatness) cook lots of food to freeze go to yoga and sort out an acupuncture appt to hurry this baby along. My hOuse has also never been so clean.

pilotsprincess · 08/11/2011 11:39

Im 39 + 4 and had enough now!
Ive got my sweep on friday at 39 + 6 so hoping that will help as Ive had lots of twinges and stop starts. Had contractions every 10 mins throughout the night but theyve eased off totally now! Gosh im getting more anxious as each day passes!
Good luck ladies :)

twogirls1more · 08/11/2011 12:39

Hell what is going on with us all?!! Confused We're all gonna be completely mad by the time we all actually do go into established labour!!!
What a disappointment libran! So near and yet so far!! grrr :( Know what you mean brianmay! I keep going over the same housewrk time and time again! Just cleaned the kitchen floor..AGAIN and hoovered AGAIN and ironed about 4 items of clothing cos I'm not letting it mount up..AGAIN!! On plus side I had a v relaxing pedicure this am..(thanx gemma for giving me that idea!) but totally miffed to find when I got home the perfectly painted purple big toes now aren't quite so perfectly painted! :( Anyone tried reflexology to bring on labour? Might try that next?
Bet you're not as fat as me brianmay! My biggest part of bump measures 50" now and I can't see belly button as it's pointing to the floor! :(

libranlady · 08/11/2011 13:08

Nice to hear ( in a sadistic, selfish sort of wayGrin) that I am not alone going through this frustrating, uncomfortable wait. The worst part is that when it does finally happen, I will be unable to let myself get excited as I'm constantly trying t tell myself not to get carried away and that it will probably all stop soon. Babies huh, who'd have em? Wink

twogirls1more · 08/11/2011 15:50

Yep, who'd have em?!! What gets me is that nobody tells you about this side of it... In all the books etc.. the start of labour is so clearly definable. (Even my MW looked at me when I told her of all these weeks of stop-start painful contractions like she'd never heard of it before!!) I too am glad I'm not the only one! Wink

brianmayshair · 08/11/2011 19:12

I've just had acupuncture which hopefully will keep me going over have a voucher for a pedicure so will do that this week, i'm actually sort of enjoying the chilling out time now but i'm lucky my other dc are at school hate the not sleeping because of braxton hicks.
I feel like i can relax now i know it's cephalic an not likely to move again when i do go into labour i'm having a home birth so don't really have to worry about it happening too much now.
two i have an over whelming urge to measure the bump now! So sick of people commenting. I realised i'm being put under pressure by randoms saying have you not had that baby yet. FFs no of course not i'm not even till tomorrow, why would i have.

libranlady · 08/11/2011 22:39

Another evening of BH for me, along with a show and an upset stomach. Ho hum, off to bed then. Maybe tomorrow???

pilotsprincess · 08/11/2011 23:36

evening!
another braxton hicksy evening for me too!
I just sat on my birth ball for hours while watching tv, I got it today and have to say its much more comfortable than sinking into the sofa (and then rolling off to go to the toilet, get chocolate, gaviscon etc)
maybe tomorrow will be the day...
(although 11/11/11 would be pretty cool !!)

twogirls1more · 09/11/2011 07:23

And another BH evening/night for me too!! Yes, 11/11/11 would be cool, or tomorrow the 10th for me as is DH and my 5th anniversary! :)
Hope one of us has our baby by the wkend!

flippingstupidnickname · 09/11/2011 08:48

So looking forward to hearing some exciting news on here soon!

I had a small amount of show yesterday... not much though Sad keep running to the toilet to check Blush

Woke up at 2am and thought to myself "oh God, can you imagine having to drag your backside out of bed and feed a baby now?!". Then started to worry about everything and didn't get back to sleep until 5.30. Kids up at 6.30...Confused

libran - All sounds very promising!!!

flippingstupidnickname · 09/11/2011 08:55

twogirls I'm so glad you said that about the looks you get from the MW - I thought I was being overly sensitive! It happened in my last pg too, I'd mention something and they'd look at me as if skeptically thinking 'are you sure'... She did it the other day when I mentioned painful contractions... I wonder if it's just the look they get when they're trying to figure out if something's important/worrying.

pilotsprincess · 09/11/2011 09:02

flippingstupidnickname
Ive done the same this week! woke up all dizzy and stumbled to the toilet thinking oh dear imagine a crying baby now?! ooops!
Fingers are crossed for all of us today :)

brianmayshair · 09/11/2011 09:30

I drank about 2 litres of water yesterday and BH improved muchly however spent most of the day in the loo. Slept terribly because of awful heartburn and no gaviscon have woken up this am and have really strong BH again Angry and upset stomach. MW appt friday for her to give me home birth stuff and ordering pool today and then i'm good to go. Need to write birth plan.

two your 51" is very impressive, i measured myself and am 46" however at 5 foot i do look ridiculous and now have a fat face and hands which i'm pissed off about and it makes me not want to go out much.

twogirls1more · 09/11/2011 10:11

Yes, I thought so brian! Sick of comments like "are you sure there's only one in there?!" though! I'm 5ft 9" so quite tall and never seem to put it on on face, hands, ankles etc just seem to create mahooooosive bumps! Grin
Yes BH's can sometimes be brought on by slight dehydration as well as baby's position, urine infections etc though water's never seemed to make any difference to mine. Hmm
Isn't heartburn the worst! Mine's eased a bit as baby so low but as he's not getting any smaller I'm finding it creeping back again abit!!
I never bother with birth plan as every time any plan has just gone out the window! :(

brianmayshair · 10/11/2011 13:40

The only reason for me to write a birth plan is to put in it under no circumstances am i to have an episiotomy, had one against my wishes with dd1 ( unnecessarily) it was stuck to rigorously last time by very kind MW.

Nothing happening here today had almost 12 hours sleep Shock still feel tired. Going to brave the school gates today just need to psych myself up.

Envy bout your weight. I am radiant until about 34 weeks then puff up, i now look like a hamster as my face is so puffy/fat usually i'm very small happens in all i've my pregnancies don't know why and is usually back to normalish a week after birth.

ImBrian · 11/11/2011 10:10

I'm 39 weeks today with my 4th, my partners first though and he's driving me nuts asking when shes going to come and getting excited over every little thing bless him. Been having a lot of BH for past week and had a show Sunday then more on Tuesday but nothing is happening. Had my first 2 dd the day after their due dates and my 3rd was a couple of days early so I'm guessing this one will be late and I'll get to have a couple more weeks of this. She is 3/5s engaged but I don't think that means much Hmm

twogirls1more · 11/11/2011 10:39

Really thought my BH's would progress last nt but as usual, woke, got going and now they back to being irregular and painless! :( Soooo exhausted today, just want to curl up!
Anyone any news yet?!! Libranlady?? Need some good news to cheer me up! :)

pilotsprincess · 11/11/2011 18:19

Any babys here yet ladies????
I had my sweep today..fingers crossed for me please!

twogirls1more · 11/11/2011 19:22

Unfortunately not pilot! and in a v bad mood today that I just can't seem to shake! :( (not helped by the fact that my MW's crap and after failing to call me back about something a couple of wks ago she excelled herself today as after a failed attempt to make appt for nxt wk.. when I'll be 40wks.. with the docs surgery, I called MW and left a voicemail and she's yet again not bothered to call me back!!) Said to DH I do wonder if anyone would even notice if I was never in touch again and went to 45wks or something ridiculous this pregnancy!! So... looks like I have no MW appt nxt wk at full term. (after no appt for 2wks) and it's anyone's guess if I'll even get one for 41wks (when I'm meant to be having a sweep but who knows?!!) Anyway, sorry, rant over! Grin Had an hr of painful contractions today, 7mins apart that I had to breath thru as were so painful and, guess what... they subsided! :( Do hope that things hot up for you pilot! One of us needs to progress now me feels!! Hmm

youtalkintome · 11/11/2011 20:25

Not here either have name changed, i outed myself a bit too much on baby names threads, but my previous name was all about the hair Grin.

Went to MW and baby no longer engaged, what's that about my pool was delivered and i wasn't in so can't get it now till monday and have read some other threads and scared myself about horrendous 3rd babies, why do some people feel the need to tell you these things. Have been up since 3am last night so hoping for a good sleep tonight. Have booked for a sweep at 40 weeks. My MW is very nice two but bloody hell she is scatty i too could drop of the face of the earth and she wouldn't noticed, she has forgotten to do my home visit at 36 weeks and there has been no mention of it. I do at least now have my birthing pack.

youtalkintome · 14/11/2011 08:42

Any babies? I'm hoping baby will stay put for a bit our boiler broke last night and i'm waiting for British Gas, typical.

twogirls1more · 14/11/2011 10:57

Nope, STILL waiting! Due date tomorrow... Finally managed to track down MW and have appt today at 12.30 so will see what worries she has for me today?!! Prob won't get offered a sweep but want to know what action plan likely to be as don't want to be hanging around in a whole 2wks time for many reasons incl that he was already estimated at approx 7lbs wks ago!
Good luck with British gas youtalk! I had boiler probs just after coming out of hosp following the birth of my last DD and they kept failing to turn up! (You need that like a hole in head atm don't you!! :()

flippingstupidnickname · 14/11/2011 12:43

Still waiting around here too. Been stuck in all week with poorly children - such a relief they're back at preschool today - I feel like I can get on with my nesting!

Upset stomach every morning this week, wish I could be optimistic enough to think it was some sort of sign. Achey bump on and off too but not associated with tightenings and very random. Grrrr....

Twogirls - (keep wanting to call you TwoShoes a la X Factor Grin ) I don't have my next MW appointment till my due date after a 2 week gap either! I thought they were meant to see you every week at this stage but hey ho. I jokingly said to her "If I get that far" when she booked it in an attempt to suggest that I might want my blood pressure monitoring before that but the penny didn't drop. Quite surprised seeing as I have a strong family history of severe pre-eclampsia and myself had a preterm birth last time... Hmm

Youtalkintome - I keep accidentally outing myself too... Blush Grin

Anyway, onward with the cleaning, scrubbing and sorting....! What you all up to today?

usingapseudonym · 14/11/2011 13:49

38 weeks and I'm desperate to have this one out! I'm fed up of people saying how big I am and if I'm due yet, and of not sleeping, and of lumping around in bed like a whale, and struggling to do up shoes!

I have a toddler already (nearly 3) and really could do with not having a bump in the way... having said that its going to be a completely different game once its out isn't it!!!

I'm dreading if it has to be a c section (first went overdue, induced and c section) as my husband will be working away after 2 weeks and youre not supposed to lift your toddler....
