37+4 and fed up - any one else?

Franchini · 21/10/2011 09:56

Moan alert:

I am fed up of:
Fat feet,
heartburn,
double chin,
feeling sick,
piles,
mahoosive boobs and belly,
stretch marks (they hurt),
being out of breath,
stuffy nose,
snoring (mine not DH),
general grumpyness (mine not DH)

Due on the 8th November - if I go overdue the latest date for induction would be the 21st November (that is one whole month)

Not only that it has just dawned on me that I will have to actually go through childbirth and will my body ever go back to some sort of normality?

I can't wait to meet my DD and see her little face for the first time, but I am bricking it!!

I had the woprst night's sleep last night.
I'd been really excited by my "only waking up twice" on Sunday night, but last night, it was every half hour from when we went to bed at half 10, until I stopped counting at 3.
then DH got up for work at 5, so I was woken 3 times by him (it's my own fault, I make him wake me to kiss me before he goes off to work!), and then afterwards, I was constantly awake until it was time to get up (when I wanted to go back to sleep!)
and of course, every time I wake up, I need a wee, then I need half a glass of water!

also living on Rennies

nickelbabe · 25/10/2011 10:54

roz :(
tell him to entertain himself!

we did it last week, and it just felt sooooo uncomfortable! and I felt so unsexy (even though I reallly wanted to do it!), and just really hefty, like you said. I told him that we couldn't do it again now, because it was just too horrid.

minicc · 25/10/2011 11:11

So glad its not just me- getting generally hacked off with all this 'patience is a virtue' crap! And, at 38 weeks discovered the dreaded stretch marks and feeling sorry for myself :-(

brianmayshair · 25/10/2011 11:34

Glad i found this thread as it makes me feel a little better, I'm only 35 weeks but i have turned a corner into the room of doom.

I am pissed off beyond believe, finish work this week so that will help but it's dc 3 and i've been 2 weeks late with my others and the thought of this going on for another 9 weeks is making me want to cry. I am huge, i know it and if one person feels the need to tell me i shall rip there head off [hangry]. Even gaviscon gives me heartburn and i have cellulite on my knees, i have put on 3 stone and feel yuck, my maternity clothes don't even fit and i have to waddle everywhere.

nickelbabe · 25/10/2011 11:41

yes! I've the rennies i'm living on seem to make it worse , sometimes! Confused
the heartburn goes, but hten I get a gurgly tummy and farts.

roz1982 · 25/10/2011 15:24

Haha it's Rennies all the way for me too! I stashed them away in various places so I'm never too far away from one! Bedside table, handbag, coffee table, crap bowl on kitchen table. I love them.

[hgrin] at nickelbabe just telling other half that they can't do it anymore now, think I'm just gonna do that tonight - the guilty feelings arise when I shrug dh off, he just needs to know not to even try!!!

I really don't like not being able to do much either, I've got all this time to potter and do nice things but it really takes it out of me and if I'm mobile for too long, ie about half an hour I get pains very low down which aint good!!

Brianmayshair, I finished work at 35 weeks and was soooooo ready, and I know what you mean about potential time left...another 4 weeks?? I'm like you have got to be kiddin me.

roz1982 · 25/10/2011 15:27

Haha just read first bit of post back - Rennies are like my fix! Just had silly mental image of me coming home and dh sat on sofa with worried look on his face with multiple packets of empty and ongoing Rennies in front of him! Haha Grin

loverocky · 25/10/2011 15:34

37+3 days for me have a sweep next week because of previous c section.
Had some pains last night and they stopped, then i had a dream i had the baby and woke up with my belly .... that was depressing i just want him here now.
but until he come either next week or the week after i will spend time with my 2 year old :) x

nickelbabe · 25/10/2011 15:50

we have lots of snuggly cuddles instead. (well, extended arms, and bums stickign out at hte back, or we can't fit together! Grin )

thegingerone · 25/10/2011 15:59

36 + 4. Addicted to Gaviscon (Even the flavour I don't like!) Had a conversation with my 4 yr old yesterday in Boots as whether to take advantage of the Two for £10 offer on Boots brand stuff or whether i'll have the baby before I get through it all! Sensibly he talked me into buying the two bottles.
Have spent whole preg with the risk of prem labour hanging over me (due to a cervical procedure since I had my previous pg) so was very glad to get to 36 weeks and was convinced that this time I wouldn't wish away the last few weeks of my LAST preg. (DC#3)
Then I gave up work and actually miss something passing my time. (everything is ready to go cos I thought I might be meeting lo early)
I'm still not accepting that I might not go early at all and could get to 42 weeks! Come 1st November (which has always been my target for a properly baked babe!) and I'll be an absolutely crazy woman. Bring on the sex-curry=-long walks!!

Ireneiswaiting · 25/10/2011 18:30

40+2 today. I feel like my size has doubled in the last 10 days. My feet are fat and I feel like the swelling goes up to my thighs. Midwife says my cervix is soft but not enough for a sweep. All I want to do is get going with this birth, everything is on hold and we can barely plan anything. I'm so fed up with it. Am out of Gaviscon and haven't bought any more because I thought this pg would be over by now.

nickelbabe · 26/10/2011 11:27

poor Irene :(

get your gaviscon on prescription! don't pay for it!

My bump has definitely lowered (i'm not saying dropped because I don't think that's right jsut yet!)
I thought it was just the dress I was wearing yesterday that made it look like that, but today, I'm wearing the "usual" dress, and there's definitely less tum at the top where the "waist"band is. ooh.
and it feels really heavy, too, and I have less time to get to the loo, and I feel like i'm starting to waddle.

crazyhead · 26/10/2011 12:03

37+4, with a cold AND and some sort of stomach bug today giving me diarrhoea and nausea, plus I still need to somehow work till the end of this week (loads of stuff to handover). I have been doing really well till now, but am seriously grumpy today. I wish I could just sleep until my baby arrives.

Franchini · 26/10/2011 12:07

With you CRAZYHEAD - wish i could sleep the rest of it too1

Ladies I am totally feeling these vibes! 36 weeks, nothing fits, peed off as Ive stretch marks even though I bought every ointment under the sun. Cant sleep, wee 4x's a night. Been sleeping in spare room , hot then cold, sweaty , then cool. It's doing my head in! Not to mention shoes, NOTHING FITS! Hubby bought me some really lovely shoes that does fit [ 2 sizes bigger] was really sweet of him, did i mention not having any ankles! lol

Does any one's baby do the vibration dance?!?! Literally sleeping[or trying] then, all of a sudden it's like it's raving down the local club!

Read on a post today about twinges low low down. Actually is now painful to get up, tummy almost feels really low with lots of pressure - almost like ive done sit up's???

Nursery furniture came today which was a lovely moment, tried to open it, and thought i am so knackered i just cant even be bothered to look, i am so tired.

Oh ladies we should all be in 1 room together with chocolate !!

roz1982 · 26/10/2011 20:01

Chocolate, tea and Rennies! That should do it!

Every single little thing I've eaten or drank today has given me terrible heartburn.

Have had a bloody electrician and a tiler in all day doing my nut in, turning off telly, lights, washing machine, trooping in and out, banging, crashing, making mess and noise!! And kitchen still isn't done!!!!

Ireneiswaiting · 26/10/2011 21:08

Roz I hear you on the heartburn. Mine's worse just before dinner and during the night though.

Does anyone else's night go like this? Snooze for approx half an hour, get pelvic pain, have to turn over and reorganise cushions, weight of baby when briefly turning on back pushes out a burp, get heartburn, repeat until morning along with occasional bout of pins and needles in mahoosively swollen feet.

mumblejumble · 26/10/2011 21:19

Fed up of walking like an old lady, stop and start contractions, and having gestational diabetes....
Due on 3rd November, but expecting to go one week over.
I want to sleeeeeeeep at night, turn over without pain, pick things up from the floor....

nickelbabe · 27/10/2011 10:15

I've given up trying to find food that doesn't give me indigestion!
Yesterday, most of what I ate made me feel sick, and the rennies helped to calm that.
I'm also drinking cloudy lemonade, and I don't care because it tastes nice. (the fizz means it's not giving me heartburn though! Grin

I spent the whole evening yesterday with no socks on, andthe swollen feet had gone down completely by the end of the evening. :)

oh, yes, sleep at night - i've forgotten what that is! every time I stir, i need a wee, then fill my water up, then i can't sleep for ages, and I can't turn over because the bump is sooooooo heavy!
And now i know why women give up work at 35-36 weeks - i feel sooooo tired. And then everyone says "oh, but you look so well!" Hmm

nickelbabe · 27/10/2011 10:17

Acorn - could have written most of your post! except I haven't moved into the spare room, but DH is driving me mad by being in the bed ! No matter where I turn, he's there taking up space! and being warm!

roz1982 · 27/10/2011 10:17

ireneiswaiting, throw in 5 trips to the loo, restless legs and jabbing dh for snoring or even just heavy breathing and that's how my nights go!

brianmayshair · 27/10/2011 11:04

First lie in of mat leave today, was awoken by my own screams because of cramp ffs.

brianmayshair · 27/10/2011 11:04

should have said at 6am.

Franchini · 27/10/2011 11:08

Ireneiswaiting - you made me giggle.

I found a new sleeping position last night which stopped my hip from hurting but gave me pins and needles all down my arm.

Oh did I mention carpel tunnel syndrome?

OP posts:
nickelbabe · 27/10/2011 11:12

No matter which position I sleep in, I feel like the shoulder on the mattress is being dislocated.
