I have one Ds 18 months. Had a mc 6 months ago. Now I am pg 6+2. I had a little bit of pink spotting today and was just curious how many people have spotting that turn out to be simply...nothing. Thanks.

I had about three times of "harmless spotting" and am 13+5 now. Had spotting at 5+4, 6+0 and 6+5 the first two were more brown, the last was red and happened right after sex.

BedHog · 11/10/2011 09:05

Yes, throughout the first trimester. Not spotting though - it ranged from period-like to full on Niagara Falls. Caused by a haemmorage on my uterus wall. All stopped by 11 weeks and now 38 weeks pregnant.

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 11/10/2011 09:10

Me at 7 weeks, 12, 16 and 20 - am now 26 weeks and everything still going well so far!

Good luck :)

banana87 · 11/10/2011 09:15

DD1- on and off from 7-14 weeks

Baby 2: once at 5 weeks, on and off from 16-19 weeks

twogirls1more · 11/10/2011 09:24

I had on/off bleeding nearly all the way through my last pregnancy and nobody could work out what was causing it or even where it was coming from! This was similar to a light period and would last anything for a day to 6-7 days at a time. I went on to have a healthy baby girl. :) That was 18mths ago and I am currently 35wks preg with a boy and have had exactly the same thing happen! Has been a frustration this time but haven't been quite as concerned as last time over it. (I had a miscarriage just before my pregnancy with my Daughter by the way so understand how worried you are.)
Know it's hard but think all you can do is keep an eye on it really. It's still early days for you but would say as long as you're not getting cramps and the bleed doesn't increase to clots etc it's very likely to be nothing to worry about.
Take care and hope it all works out for you :)

MysteriousHamster · 11/10/2011 09:27

I had about 12 days of bleeding from four weeks onward (like a period, maybe a tiny bit lighter) and all was fine.

VeronicaSpeedwell · 11/10/2011 09:40

Good luck HopingForAZoo. This thread is good for me to see too, as I'm 7+2 with brown spotting, nervously awaiting an early scan on Thursday.

EsmeWeatherwax · 11/10/2011 09:45

Every time, usually around 6-9 weeks. Always been fine, once brown spotting like the end of a period, once bright red blood, quite a lot of it as I remember. Had a wee bit of both this time, now 25 weeks pg.

bigmacandhappymeal · 11/10/2011 09:53

I've had spotting/brown discharge with PG1 which sadly ended in MC this Jan (after developing into slightly heavier bleeding) and exactly the same with this pregnancy throughout the first trimester from 6+2weeks and I'm now at 33 weeks! No reason could be found for it which was a bit annoying.

Don't be afraid to speak with your GP and get a referral to your local Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit who were very helpful and supportive of me in both pregnancies.

Wishing you both a speedy first trimester and healthy happy wee ones in a few months time

TeacupTempest · 11/10/2011 10:00

I did at 7 and 11 weeks. Got an emergency scan both times. The A and E dr actually told me I was having a miscarriage the second time and I had to wait three days to get to the scan which was stressful. I am now 31 weeks...

Peachy · 11/10/2011 10:05

I did with ds2

not only followed by an uneventful prgnancy but my only NT child (not that it makes a difference but some people know my name and might think argh - spotting emans Sn child, when that is not right)

TeaMakesItBetter · 11/10/2011 10:07

I did. I had two mmcs and with the third pregnancy started bleeding at around 5-6 weeks and was convinced that pg was failing too - although it felt different to the two previous times. Bled to about week 8 when I got my early scan and bosh, there he was, heart blinking away on screen Grin

With your history I'd tough it out till week 8 then request a scan at EPU to put your mind to rest. I was told there's a much better outcome if you can wait to 8 weeks as a baby there at 8 weeks is much better long term news than a baby there at 6 weeks iyswim.

mavornia · 11/10/2011 10:07

I did with this pregnancy (ds3) at around 12 weeks I think - it was terrifying but it's all going swimmingly and I'm now 29 weeks

crazynannawitchbitch · 11/10/2011 10:12

I did with dd1. Went to the ANC from the gp's surgery with gp's words (I am pretty sure it's gone) ringing in my ears, sobbing all the way.

Well,on the screen was a 10 weeker spinning around like a Catherine Wheel! Grin

Mum did for 3 months with both me and my sister, we turned out ok Wink

TonksmarriedaWerewolf · 11/10/2011 10:22

I did with DD2 and DS. With DS it was quite heavy and only went away after 20 weeks. He was 2 three weeks ago.

LizzyMathsWhizzy · 11/10/2011 15:56

I did, but it seemed to always coincide with me slightly overdoing it. For example, babysitting my friends toddler for a weekend, and going on holiday to Iceland and climbing on a couple of glaciers! I had a miscarriage the month before I got pregnant this time, so I was panicking about it, but managed to resist the temptation to get a scan until 10 weeks, trying to take the attitude of que sera. To be honest, I was so sure I would miscarry again, that I just thought it was inevitable. I'm now 34 weeks, and looking forward to meeting my little survivor! Good luck, nature is a wonderful thing.

HopingForAZoo · 11/10/2011 16:12

Wow! Thank you all for the kind encouraging stories. I didn't expect such an overwhelming response. So far no more spotting but today is my first day of feeling very sick. I guess that is encouraging though since I never felt sick when I mc. Oh an I guess ill try to stay away from any glaciers I was thinking of climbing. [ wink ]

Thanks again.

i did at 6 weeks

pruney1977 · 11/10/2011 16:54

I did, it was either pink or brown. Am now 29+6 with first baby.

Quenelle · 11/10/2011 16:58

I had spotting at 6+6 and bleeding at 7+6 and all was fine.

Have had a little in this pregnancy too, it does tend to coincide with when I've been constipated and have had to, erm, strain a bit Blush

SuchFunSuchFun · 11/10/2011 17:22

Me too, several times. But my midwife did say that I sould call her each time it happens as it can be something to worry about.

I don't want to alarm you, but just because all of us on this thread have had spotting and gone on to have healthy pregnancies doesn't mean it always goes like that.

Please get any spotting or bleeding checked out.

Good luck and sorry again to seem negative.

ToriaPumpkinLantern · 11/10/2011 17:28

I had six bleeds, 5 weeks, 7, 8, 10, 17 and 19. I'm now 37+5 and getting punched in the cervix as baby tries to make its way out.

Each time I was told it was probbaly nothing, in fact my MW did not once check me over Hmm They ranged from bright red spotting to pink, creamy discharge but stopped at 19 weeks and have never been back. And I never had any MS so everytime it started and I wasn't nauseus I feared the worst.

Good luck, I hope everything goes well from now on :)
