Craving a cold pork pie straight from the pack! Can I?

Surely I can, can't I?
It has to be cold from the pack, you know Melton Mowbray, or from a supermarket deli. I want that jelly stuff! I know it would be fine to eat a pork pie that's reheated and "piping hot" but I don't want that!
Please advise me - I am going mad! Confused

Jenni, that sounds like a perfectly reasonable lunch. I have not even the excuse of having the pork pies for a meal Blush I eat them as a snack Grin

I'm glad I'm not the only one who eats "bad things" not always good!! Feel so guilty that I'm not being healthy all the time. Blush

I have 2 hours and 4 minutes left until I can leave the building and go and buy my pork pies! I'm planning to have 2 medium sized ones with a pasta & red pepper salad!
This craving is lasting longer than I thought it would!

Thanks for starting this thread! I've been obsessed with pork pies for the last few days.... Wink.

crackerqueen, how were they? I am on a cure for a few days. I shall have to live out the craving vicariously. Did they have grease on the bottom? Was the bottom bit of pastry suitable crunchy/crumbly? Was there a healthy amount of jelly? Man, this is gonna be hard...

lookout - I really do admire you! I'll have to join you in abstaining soon but I must say today's pork pies were scrummmmy! I ate one on the way back to work in the sunshine & the jelly was just perfect. The texture of the meat seems to be a huge part of the craving and today it was gorgeous.

I am also craving old fashioned desserts like jam roly poly with custard. A baby with very British tastes! Bit weird as I'm usually a Thai curry kinda girl when not PG.

That's ok then :) thanks everyone for the reassurance! After that lunch I had sausages for dinner. This baby's coming out oinking, seriously!
I'm 35 wks.
Crackerqueen, I'm not sure if I need to come round yours and hug you for having such amazing ideas or give you a slap for making me crave bad things! Jam sponge? Custard? NOM NOM... but I need to stop eating carb filled rubbish!

Ooh, I'm having Thai Green Curry for dinner Smile. I am off on holiday at the end of next week to a place devoid of pork pies so I will definitely be having a couple before I go. I can't restrain myself for that long, so you see there's not that much to admire Grin

I wasn't wanting porkpies but after reading this thread I'm going to have to pop into my local bakery and pick up a Huntsman pie at lunch time before nipping into M&S to get a pack of their mini ones for later! Smile
