I would like another, I have 2ds and am 33, I get the impression from some that this is too old, what do you think?

WHAT???????????!!!!!!!!!!!!

hunkermunker · 25/11/2005 12:58

Nooooo! If I ever forget how much "fun" I'm having being pg this time round and do it again, I'll be at least 33!

33's definitely not too old, 43's not too old - 53 is IMO.

Wouldn't like to put a number on it, but 33 is not at all old

Yes, too old! I am starting to think it is too, I am now in two minds as to whether it would be a good idea, also there would be 8 years between my eldest & the baby and 6 between my youngest and baby. Its amazing how some people can actually have you start doubting yourself. My dh is 39 and is a little apprehensive, but syas if I really want another then so does he.

Provided you are pre-menopause and can conceive naturally I wouldn't say any age is too old - how can you if our bodies allow us?

mommie · 25/11/2005 13:00

i had my first at 41; it's only old in the sense you are probably more tired than at 31

My parents actually said to me that they think it's terrible if anyone starts a family after the age of 35! I think they are just trying to discourage me.

We had dd when we were both 36. We are hoping to have another.

I am 36 and am 14 weeks with hopefully my 3rd. I DONT think I'm too old! BUT you are treated differently for instance there is a lot of emphasis on the nuchal scan and you might be put under pressure to have an amnio etc. Also I'm definitely finding this the hardest pregnancy so far i.e. the sickest and the most tired but how much of that is down to age, or already having 2 little ones or even simply this pregnancy I don't know.

zenia · 25/11/2005 13:03

Mommie, how many children have you got? I do worry about being tired, I am quite lazy, I just feel as though somethings missing and I feel broody as hell, but terrified too.

Wills · 25/11/2005 13:05

I secretly wonder if I'll find the strength to go for my desired 4.

Wills · 25/11/2005 13:06

2 girls like you. dd1 is 5 and at school dd2 is only 2yrs 3months so not yet.

Rachey1969 · 25/11/2005 13:07

Ohmigod, I am 36 and having my 4th - if dp has his way, we might have another but personally I'd like to be under 40. If other people are happy having them later that's fine! I wouldn't have left it past 35 having a first one though, you just don't know how long it might take.
