Hi

My EDD is tomorrow and I'm starting to get a little bit impatient - silly I know!

Anyone else in the same situation?

I'm getting loads of texts from various people already asking if there are 'any signs' etc. but the answer is a big fat NO.

I've not been on any of the ante-natal threads as they all move a bit fast for me.

Would be nice to hear from you...

Lol emolly thank you am keeping everything crossed, legs are most firmly crossed! Had a right twinge earlier and thought 'nooooo' but nothing else has happened since so should be alright.

Anyone ever heard of googling ways to STALL labour? Lol!

Welcome purpleplump!

Hello emolly and Ipredicttrouble! Good luck emolly and here is hoping for a favourable cervix for you! Grin

Well I'm finally having contractions, having woke with them at 5 this morning. At that stage they were 8 minutes apart and really taking my breath away but now they are less regular and more manageable. I tell you, I'm so bloody fed up. Now 9 days over and just can't believe my body is being so lazy! It's so demoralising to be stopping and starting like this. Got a midwife visit today to check BP as it was high yesterday, no kidding! So going to ask if she can examine me to see if the contractions are dilating me or not. I have sent DP to work, 30 mins away, DD is at nursery and have told mum not to come over despite her being desperate to! What would make me feel worse is everyone changing their plans for this to just continue for another few days.

Going to carry on bouncing on ball and being as normal as possible and hope that something happens. What I would love is for my waters to break but with DD they were broken so kind of thinking that will happen again.

What is happening with you Ipredict? X

purpleplump · 01/07/2011 12:08

Oh dear, betty, i bet you are so fed up now!
Got the flat. Now begins the problem of moving with no money, anyone aware of nice cheap van hire, I have someone who could drive a van in that case but I have looked at proper removal companies and they are just extortionate.
Will get there in the end I suppose!

I hope you don't mind if I jump on - I'm due in 4 days (Tuesday) and and having been strong period pain and on and off contractions for days on end. I keep thinking 'is this it', then they stop as soon as they start! Baby is really low though - MW could actually feel the tips of her shoulders in my pelvis, and seems to think it will be any day.

Every day I keep thinking is this it, then nothing. Am also getting bored and the thought of waiting another week or more does my head in!

ipredicttrouble · 01/07/2011 19:01

Hi Betty, I feel your pain! Or not as the case may be Smile. I've felt nothing today and it is so frustrating. I agree, the stopping & starting is really beginning to get me down. I must be having mild contractions as I'm 3cm dilated but nothing that I could class as painful.

I know it sounds ridiculous but I really feel like my body is letting me down. I feel like it doesn't know what to do properly. I realise that this is melodramatic but I'm not feeling very rational at the moment. Like you, I'd love my waters to just go pop and then it would at least be a more definite sign. DH has gone out to play footy, would dearly love to have to ring him to say come back.

DD has also been a stroppy madam today which hasn't helped. She's normally such a lovely little thing! Sad

Sorry for the moaning people, just had enough.

Hi purpleplump, glad that you got the flat? Anymore twinges?

Wonder how emolly is gettin along?

How Newmummy, welcome to the waiting game Smile!

Yeah very glad :) Nothing to report as yet, but if other half's friend says any of the following once more, I'll go nuts!
"Feeling huge?"
"Nervous at all?"

Oh and there was a little gem that I can't quite remember, something to the effect of saying I must feel like a house, or something! Angry

ipredicttrouble · 01/07/2011 19:28

Oh the comments from other people could really throw you over the edge Angry. I choose to only speak to people at the moment who I know won't annoy me Grin!

Ooh 'why haven't you had that baby yet?!' from numerous people. I sit there and think, well how on earth should I know!! Oh well eh! Everyone okay this evening?

ipredicttrouble · 01/07/2011 19:32

Not bad, besides the frustration & feeling like I'm going insane Grin!

Oh dear! I am supposed to be packing but all I've done is strip little one's cot so other half can take it down, it had been up for a fair few weeks awaiting her arrival.
Had the worse nights sleep ever last night too, constantly waking up all achy and tossing and turning, and woke up with the headache I went to bed early last night trying to get rid of, must dig out paracetemol. (It is safe throughout right?)
I'll stop whining now honest, it isn't all bad. Lol!

ipredicttrouble · 02/07/2011 09:59

Yes, I'm pretty sure paracetemol is ok throughout, I think they tell you to take that when labour starts.

I was up for 2 hrs in the night. For some reason, I was convinced my waters were about to go & I had back ache. But, here we are again, another morning & no baby.

Update - Well I went into hospital for 8am on Fri am to start the induction process. By Sunday had finished the 3 lots of treatment (propess pessary and 2 lots gel) and got another internal (ouch!) to be told nothing had changed!! Most annoyed! So ended up getting a c section. Very bizarre walking to theatre! By that point though I didn't care, I just wanted to meet my baby. My little girl was born late Sunday afternoon and got home y'day. Section wasn't too bad and was up on my feet in no time and got feeding off to good start. Enjoying our first full day at home today.

ipredicttrouble · 13/07/2011 20:15

Congratulations emolly

My little girl was born last Wednesday...she's lovely!
