Hi

My EDD is tomorrow and I'm starting to get a little bit impatient - silly I know!

Anyone else in the same situation?

I'm getting loads of texts from various people already asking if there are 'any signs' etc. but the answer is a big fat NO.

I've not been on any of the ante-natal threads as they all move a bit fast for me.

Would be nice to hear from you...

Well thats another day nearly done. Really sleepy today as baby decided to have a party last night between 11pm and 2.00am so I was wide awake. The movement was constant and so I was up in the early hours googling "frantic baby movements 40 weeks" to see if I should be worried or if this could be a "sign"!!. All back to normal today so nothing significant i guess.
Only had 4 phonecalls today from family/friends, think people are starting to get the message that we will be in touch with them if anything happens! Hope the rest of you are keeping well.

ipredicttrouble · 26/06/2011 20:06

Hey, still nothing here other than a few BH earlier today. Emolly, it's crap when your sleep is disturbed, hope you get a better night tonight.

I've got a MW appt tomorrow morning. I wonder what my chances are of her doing a sweep? I'll be 40+4. I don't think she will, I'm sure the policy around here is 41 wks for a sweep.

I may have to turn on the waterworks!

So Monday again.....

Hope you have better luck at midwife than I had this am. Had to see registrar and midwife to decide on the plan for the week. Baby still high and not engaged with unfavourable, closed cervix so no sweep. So they have booked me in for induction on Saturday. Have been advised this may not work and may end up with a section. I am rather petite and they are now saying baby may not have enough room to move down but they want to try and put me into labour to try first. Bit teary about it all when I came out but trying to remain calm and positive!! Good luck with you appt later.

ipredicttrouble · 27/06/2011 13:05

Hi emolly, sorry that you're feeling a bit emotional, I know the feeling.

Well the midwife did do a sweep this morning. Apparently my cervix is closed but soft so mixed news. I can go for another one on Thursday if nothing has happened by then.

I had a few twinges earlier but nothing since then. Aaah!

I've also been booked in for an induction on Tues 5th if the 2nd sweep doesn't do the job.

It's all so frustrating.

Emolly do you have chance for another sweep before Saturday?

OP posts:
emolly · 27/06/2011 18:00

No more chances for a sweep this week. Think because nothing has changed since last Thurs and baby still high etc she doesn't predict much changing in the next few days. I've to go in to hospital on Friday at 8am for induction on Saturday (hoping if I am in they will just start early). Been told not to expect much to happen quickly and not to expect baby until Sun/Monday! Eek! Can't believe now looking at July baby!!
I'm not giving up though and hoping to prove them wrong so waiting on hubby to come in to get out for a walk despite it poaring down outside! Hope your sweep was successful and your twinges progress!!

ipredicttrouble · 28/06/2011 21:03

How's it going today emolly? Any movements or twinges?

I passed a bit of my show, I think?! And had a couple of strong BH/contractions but nothing since.

Beyond frustrated! Looking forward to 2nd sweep on Thursday. Really hoping she'll say that cervix is open, even if just a tiny bit! Smile

Mummyofprawn how are you getting along?

OP posts:
emolly · 28/06/2011 22:27

Have had a good day thanks but no movements or twinges. Have got in it my head now that I am going in for induction on Friday and really can't see me going into labour before then. Have had no symptoms whatsoever. So I'm just going to relax for the next 2 days (eek only 2 days left!). I say that now but will probably wake up a hormonal, teary mess tomorrow. Pregnancy bi polar!!

Whoever would have thought that something like a sweep could be looked forward to!! Hopefully will be able to have a laugh about it all once baby arrives...

mummyofprawn and bettybum - Its been all quiet since the weekend, wonder if that means you lucky ladies are enjoying your babies!

ipredicttrouble · 30/06/2011 09:09

Hi Emolly, is it today or tomorrow that you're going in?

OP posts:
emolly · 30/06/2011 13:51

Yes its tomorrow! Strange feeling today knowing this is my last day at home before chaos hits next week :)

Looking forward to it now even though potentially will be in hospital for a few days. I used to work in hospitals for a few years so familiar with the environment but have never been in before as a patient so will be strange!

Good luck for your second sweep today! Hope it does the trick this time and you also have a weekend baby!

ipredicttrouble · 30/06/2011 16:18

Good luck emolly. Very exciting!

I had my 2nd sweep this morning and I'm 3cm dilated! Still no contractions though Confused.

Good luck emolly

Ipredicttrouble I'm in a similar position to you. I'm now 8 days over and had first sweep today. Cervix very favourable and she took me from 2cm to 3. Had clear show last night but now it's bloody. Some odd twinges. Booked in for another sweep Monday then induction Wednesday. Things are moving for us all...Smile

ipredicttrouble · 30/06/2011 16:39

That sounds good Betty. Are your 'odd twinges' painful at all?

OP posts:
BettyBum · 30/06/2011 17:50

Ever so slightly painful. But still very all over the place. Had some blood. HURRY UP BABIES!! Grin

Yes actually have quite a sore back...

ipredicttrouble · 30/06/2011 18:22

Sore back is good! I just had a bit of jelly like mucus stuff (sorry TMI) but no blood.

purpleplump · 30/06/2011 18:23

I'm due on Sunday, can I come in? :)

ipredicttrouble · 30/06/2011 18:42

Of course! Smile

OP posts:
purpleplump · 30/06/2011 18:50

Brilliant! :) I'm actually trying to hold off labour at the moment as going to view a new flat tommorow, first in queue, first to view so going to most likely accept it as it will be an extra bedroom, and closer to the floor! (am on the 11th floor at the moment).

So am staying off gym ball and postponing my nightly stairwalking until next week!
Hope everyone else is getting on well :)

ipredicttrouble · 30/06/2011 19:28

OP posts:
purpleplump · 30/06/2011 19:40

Yeah it is, rather excited :)

ipredicttrouble · 30/06/2011 19:43

Fab, I imagine that you will go over your due date. Though I'm no expert Wink

OP posts:
purpleplump · 30/06/2011 19:47

I probably will, if this child is anything like DH! :)
I'm hoping she holds out anyway like I said, it would be especially nice to get all this moving out the way too before she arrives although that might be asking much too much! Typical that it's arrived (flat offer) at wrong time lol! (when is the right time though hehe)

ipredicttrouble · 30/06/2011 19:55

True. Timing goes out of the window where babies are concerned! Smile

OP posts:
emolly · 30/06/2011 21:48

bettybum sorry to hear you still waiting too! But it is sounding hopeful for you that things are moving! Maybe tonight is the night and you and ipredicttrouble may beat me to it!!

I am so hoping that my cervix has changed and is not an "unfavourable" as it was at the start of the week otherwise I been told to expect a long few days!! My ideal would be in tomorrow and home in time to at least see a bit of Wimbledon final on Sunday. I have watched so much tennis over the past 2 weeks it will be just my luck that I will miss completely! Oh well, good luck ladies - I will pop on here next week and update!

purpleplump - good luck for your flat viewing. Keep your legs crossed!!
