I hated it first time and was hoping that this one wuld be so different and I would enjoy every minute of it - but I'm not. Its worse and have become so down and fed up I just want to sleep through the next 5 months.
I am now about to start my third week of absencefrom work due to hyperemesis gravidarum and also I think I felt the first twinges of SPD returning today (although at only 15 weeks I hope it isn't). I had SPD with first baby but not until about 32 weeks.

That's my fave perfume

maybe for my Psychology dissertation I can do a study on sensitive smell receptors and susceptibility to HG? I could walk up to people with HG and spray them with different things until they vomit.

may be not hey?

the worst thing for me at the moment is bread. I heave constantly for 20 mins or so!

Probably the weight of it in your stomach? But HG does come with a nasty metallic mouth taste and some white breads can have the same taste so could be that. Pasta had same effect on me actually, carbs perhaps.

Dry rice was OK for me though, before anything else. And then mashed potato with gravy (what they fed me in hospital).

sorry - not eating it - just the smell!

helsi - bread??? its not funny i know, i used to heave at the sight of tissue

helsi · 13/11/2005 21:56

yes - bread, meat, toothpaste(?), soap, (yes I stink!), most things really. Just any smells that are quite strong.

a hint with the toothpaste - use the brush aways i personally couldnt stomach a toothbrush in my mouth so i had to resort to a quick swill with toothpaste but now they got these

expatinscotland · 14/11/2005 15:40

This baby has hiccups. A lot. Hmmm. Another girl, perhaps?

Helsi, I spoke to my boss (I'm a teacher)today, and told him I needed time off with HG- I felt like a hypochondriac too, but then the doctor pointed out that not many men would work having been sick constantly for days on end, so I feel much better!I feel sick at really odd things too- just looking at one of the dogs makes me ill, but I'm ok with the other two.
