Just a bit of fun really. Did you think or know it was one sex then it popped out and was the opposite?

I feel mine is a girl but try to tell myself its a boy so im not shocked lol

Congratulations, Sarahbeth!

My midwife tells me that in her experience, expectant mothers are right 75% of the time, expectant fathers only 50%. I didn't ask whether this was only the ones who 'knew', or all of them, but she's been a midwife for a looong time, so who knows? Also she and I both think we know what I'm having, and now I'm starting to worry that if it turns up and we're wrong I'll be disappointed. Not because I have a real gender preference but because I have a certain expectation, now.

I was absolutely convinced with DD, and I was right.

I was convinced with dd and was right so was shocked when a little boy popped out and felt odd so you may do too but after you see how gorgeous they are and spend time with them it disappears so i wouldnt worry ;)

I was right I am having a girl only 15 and a half weeks left xx

shelleylou · 09/06/2011 22:20

DS i thought was a boy all along.
20 weeks pg with DC2 and felt all along its a girl so will find out next week hopefully

TheFeministsWife · 09/06/2011 22:22

Yes and no. I thought dd1 was a boy, technically she's a girl but she really really wants to be a boy. So I was kind of right. I knew dd2 was a girl.

ningthemerciless · 09/06/2011 22:25

Tried to convince myself that baby was a girl. Think I wanted a girl to begin with but deep down I knew it would never be a girl (lots of boys in this generation).

Partner wanted a boy (predictably). Was more annoyed that he had 'won' when we found out at 20 week scan ;).

Now my wee man is 6 months and I can't imagine ever wanting him to be something else!

SelinaDoula · 09/06/2011 22:30

I thought this was a boy, from conception (and it is). My bump is quite a different shape too.

themummymonster · 09/06/2011 22:40

Way back when mine were born we were not told what the gender was. So when I was first pregnant I had no idea. I craved smells rather than food and pine fresh toilet duck was my favourite! Dh really wanted a boy and it so happened that's what we got!

Pregnancy number two was similar in all ways but I craved the smell of vicks vapour rub - so much so that I would have the "Vickstick" stuck up my nose much of the time! Bump was the same so I was convinced a second boy would pop out... Yep that's right, a daughter appeared causing DH to run off to Mothercare for a pink dress, so in answer to your question my feeling was wrong, so wrong!

They are teenagers now - what the hell am I doing on the pregnancy topic!!

Beesok · 09/06/2011 22:44

totally wrong :) asked the guy at my scan to double check as I was CONVINCED it's a boy and was shocked when he said girl :) not shocked coz I was upset - am stubborn and don't like to be "proven" wrong hahahahaha
We are absolutely delighted and would have been regardless of the sex :)

Just spent 2hrs holding my neighbour's 5 week daughter while she slept on my lap and we chatted and am so happy I'll have a little one of my own soon :)

shellmc · 11/06/2011 11:23

HAd a feeling i was having a boy from the start, had a dream i had a baby boy and he was 12lb.......i was right about the sex but not the weight thankfully :)

notso · 11/06/2011 11:41

DC1 convinced I was having a boy, had DD.
DC2 convinced I was having a boy, had DS1
DC3 convinced I was having a girl, had DS2 and 6 months on still feel surprised he is a boy!

My Dad however has guessed correctly each time.

superjobeespecs · 11/06/2011 11:44

had a dream last night that i was in hospital having bumpy (im 19+6) and they did a scan and bumpy was just sitting up and had boy bits dont find out till next wed.with DD i was convinced she was a boy i wouldnt hear a word about girls at all then she came out i was shocked!! this pg has been totally diff tho had morning sickness not so much weight gain tiredness my bumpy is totally diff to DD so fingers crossed Grin OH would love love love a boy so would i to be honest but i'd be perfectly happy to have another girl as DD is a wee superstar

Icelollycraving · 11/06/2011 11:56

I knew I'd have a boy. I'm a girly girl & so had always wanted a girl but knew I'd have a boy. I felt it was a boy right away & have to admit was hoping to be wrong Blush It took me a weekend to completely get used to the idea,we have no boys in our family & I have no experience with little boys at all. I'm due in 3 weeks,I'm thinking I'll end up like Pam in Gavin & Stacey saying oooh my little prince!

sidorek · 11/06/2011 12:37

beesok, same here:) Convinced myself it was a boy, and yesterday found it is a girl! I was feeling a bit funny for an hour or so, not for disappointment, but I just hate being proven wrong;) Husbando is delighted and even chosen a name already: Ella Loise:) I am off to the shop to buy some girlie stuff;)

AlmightyCitrus · 11/06/2011 13:14

We didn't find out the sex from the scans, so I had 9 months each time to think about what it would be
Convinced first was a boy....wrong
Second pregnancy was very different so convinced again it was a boy...wrong again!
Third, I'd resigned myself to another girl...wrong!

Fourth...I think it might be a girl....Tell you next week!

PoppysMom · 13/06/2011 05:55

I was convinced I was having a boy. Scan very clearly says girl :)
