Hello! This is my first pregnancy and I'm really, really excited but feeling frightened that I don't know anyone else who is pregnant!

I'm 13 weeks and live in Sutton, Surrey. Baby is due on October 1st!

Anyone out there similar to me?! :)

i have been told (by almost everyone...) to eat little and often.
i thnk that means that i can have half a sandwich twice instead of one full sandwich.
what it means in reality, is that i'm having a full sandwich twice.
[oops]

corkythecat · 02/04/2011 17:56

Hello I'm nearly 11 weeks and due 24th October. I'm from Swindon.
is my 2nd baby, DS will be 4 by the time this one arrives.
The queasyness and tiredness has finally passed and I feel relatively normal again. Is true what they say you show earlier the 2nd time around, cant wait until I have my scan and can tell everyone, am sick of breathing in all the time at work Grin

Yukana · 03/04/2011 06:48

Bit further on than you OP but wanted to say congratulations! :)

I'm 21 weeks and a few days, due August 10th and it'll be a baby girl. Although I'm over in North Somerset so quite a bit further away I think! Also my first pregnancy so terribly nervous and excited at the same time. Eager to get past the 26-28 week mark so I can relax. :)

H007 · 03/04/2011 07:47

I'm either due mid-Oct or mid-Nov for the life of me can't remember my last period :-0 and I am petrified, excited and sick all in equal emotions all at the same time hahaha

Beans1977 · 03/04/2011 07:52

Hi Corky! I'm due the same day as you - congrats! My sickness seems to have stopped now which is a relief, although I ironically feel worried that means something might have gone wrong! I've got my first appointment with the MW tomorrow so hopefully that will set my mind at rest and she'll hear a heartbeat... fingers crossed. Good luck everyone! x

H007 · 03/04/2011 13:46

@Corky I'm Swindon based too

LadyOfTheManor · 03/04/2011 19:40

I'm 6 weeks, second child (have a son who's 13 months). No sickness as of yet, score!! (had terrible sickness with ds). Due December 1st.

LadyOfTheManor · 03/04/2011 19:40

Corky, I have a little belly already this time round!! 1st pregnancy I was about 8 weeks before I was showing!

LDNmummy · 03/04/2011 23:59

Fresh ginger is good for morning sickness, but aparently not more than a couple teaspoons grated as too much can cause small contractions (or at least that's what I read). Maybe try fresh ginger tea??

I'm 13+5 and excited as this is my first time.

Good luck to all!

LDNmummy · 04/04/2011 00:00

Oh and I'm due October 5th Smile

LadyOfTheManor · 04/04/2011 08:21

Gosh, ginger MADE me sick on my first. I've woken up feeling a bit nauseous so I'm having some mint tea apparently that's very good.

jomouse · 04/04/2011 08:43

Hey Ernie1! Great to have not just a month bump club but a day bump club! Feels like first onset of morning sickness today too...bit of a relief in a way as was feeling worryingly symptom free

Hows everyone else doing?

Ernie1 · 04/04/2011 09:34

Hi Jomouse! Yes - we can compare notes to the day!

I was feeling fine all weekend (so clearly worried that something was wrong) - but lightheaded again today. Also gone off my food a bit which is VERY unlike me...

Snowdropfairy · 04/04/2011 10:13

Hi everyone

How are you today?

I have caved and i got some crackers to nibble on as this helps with the morning sickness for me.

Is anyone else looking at baby stuff already Blush

I have already pick the moses basket i want!

LadyOfTheManor · 04/04/2011 10:23

I am looking for a new Moses basket as I got rid of my last one (stupidly) which one did you pick?

Snowdropfairy · 04/04/2011 10:41

The Once upon a time on from Mams and Papa's in natural with a same stand.

I wanted the rocking stand but then thought my 2 year might get a bit too rough with it, so its safer if its just a stand Grin

LDNmummy · 04/04/2011 13:47

Would you guys recommend a moses basket? I am looking to get a cot bed from the start but have been really unsure about a moses basket. I was looking into one of the cot bed styles that can be put next to your bed without a side panel, like a little extension so baby sleeps with you, but am so confuddled about it Confused

apples82 · 04/04/2011 14:27

I'm like you LDNmummy, I've thought why bother with a moses basket and not go straight to cotbed that is multi functional. From what i've grasped, a moses basket is better if you want to put them down to nap and they continue to sleep...you can then just carry the moses basket up rather than disturbing them by transferring them to cotbed.

Anyone- is this why?

watching with interest Smile

nickelbabyhatcher · 04/04/2011 14:45

You can let them sleep in the moses basket for the first coupld of months, can't you?
I'm being given a Moses Basket too. Grin

LadyOfTheManor · 04/04/2011 16:30

My ds slept in his Moses basket in my room until he was about 14 days, then I put him in his coat in his room (how controversial). Erm I had a Mamas and Papas Moses basket, and I am going to get another one (I'm on their site atm) I wouldn't get a rocking one, because if there's any fast weight gain it has the possibility of tipping over....

nickelbabyhatcher · 04/04/2011 16:33

in his coat ? please tell em that's a typo Wink

LadyOfTheManor · 04/04/2011 17:18

Ha ha ha, yes cot. Although his coat would have been controverisal.

Snowdropfairy · 04/04/2011 17:28

Well i'm confused really.

I want the moses basket for the livingroom so i can feed new baby and then put him in the moses to sleep when i entertain my 2 year old.

2 yo is currently breastfeed and in our bed but he has the cot bed in our room so we are going to put him in that from the end of this month. Then we have to fit one doublebed and two cotbeds in out room. so i'm hoping first baby will stay in moses basket then move to cotbed in our room.

We really need to move and get a bigger house Grin
